1st Amendment for Me, Not for Thee

***A bunch of empty-headed liberals shut down the Trump rally in Chicago.

After a week that saw multiple incidents of alleged violence, Donald Trump‘s rally this evening in Chicago has been postponed in the midst of large protests against the GOP presidential frontrunner.
Great idea, giving them exactly what they wanted. They should have been dispersed forcibly, with tear gas if necessary. Ever notice the first amendment only applies to liberals, in their feverish minds? How do you think they'd react if a Sanders Socialist rally was violently disrupted by conservatives? Well, that won't happen because we respect the Constitution, but you know they'd howl at the top of their lungs. This kind of stuff has to be stopped.

***Nancy Reagan remembered. RIP. What a classy First Lady she was.

***Marooned among the polar bears. Interesting story.

***More red than blue?

There were more Republican states than Democratic states in 2015 for the first time since Gallup started tracking the statistic in 2008.  When Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, 35 states were either solid or leaning Democratic, and there were just five Republican states. But the new Gallup survey said there were 20 solid or leaning GOP states, and just 14 Democratic states. The remaining 16 states are in the middle.
What a great opportunity we have this year. If only we weren't about to nominate a RINO at best, a liberal at worst. I still hold out hope that Cruz will pull it out. To think we could have had Scott Walker...

***Quick-thinking veteran saves a room full of kids.

Great story.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings
by Maya Angelou

The free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill for the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.
