Who's to Blame?

***Rush is right.

LIMBAUGH: We’ve had six counting years of an African-American president.  And, by the way, the African-American community is more ticked than ever because they were expecting all kinds of things to change for them, and they haven’t. It’s gotten worse, and their first elected president seems more interested in illegals from Central America and South America and Mexico than he does about them.  You’d be mad, too.  You can’t find jobs.  Black unemployment in this country, youth black unemployment, 27%.  Adult black unemployment is 14 or 15%.
Then you hear in Baltimore these people running around blaming the fact that there are not any jobs.  Who’s running the show?  Whose policies are in place in Baltimore?  Who’s policies are in place in New Orleans?  Whose policies are in place in Detroit?  Whose policies are in place in New York City?  There’s a simple answer.  Liberal Democrats.

They're still yelling about racism, but Baltimore has been squarely in the hands of Democrats since the 1960s. Duh, people.

***This is interesting:

The dirty little secret, as respected polling firm Gallup just revealed, is that less than 1% (8/10’s of 1% to be precise) of American adults are involved in a homosexual relationship, including 0.5% who are in a “same-sex domestic partnership,” and another 0.3% of adults in the U.S. are “married to a same-sex spouse.”
Less than one person in a hundred. In statistics, that tiny fraction of a percentage can frequently be referred to as “rounding errors.”
My father had a saying, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease,” and it has never been truer than in the case of changing the meaning of marriage to include homosexuals, and in the future, who knows what else?
But the 0.8% is only those in a relationship, you say. The number of overall gays must be much higher if you include those not in any kind of committed relationship, right?
Not really. According to U.S. Government data last year, only 1.6% of American adults are homosexual, not the 10% or more that the media and Hollywood would have you believe.
Meanwhile, the 99.2% of society not in a homosexual relationships are getting their views, traditions, including First Amendment rights to freedom of religion, trampled upon by an extreme, but militant minority.

We are allowing a very miniscule segment of America to redefine marriage. Nobody is stopping them from being together. Nobody is trampling on their "right" to be a couple. They're not satisfied with that, though. They want to force all of us to accept what is an affront to what we believe the Bible says about relationships and marriage. They bully and drive people out of business who don't conform to their views, and then call US the bigoted ones. They claim to be all inclusive and tolerant, but disagree with them and you'll see exactly how tolerant they are. Marriage is a God-given institution meant to be between one man and one woman. The traditional family is proven to be the best way to raise children. All you have to do is look at Baltimore and the percentage of black children being raised by a single parent to see what happens when there is no father in the picture. We certainly need to make it a habit to pray for our country. We are sliding fast.

***Came across a great devotion today by Charles H. Spurgeon:

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. (Romans 16:20)

This promise follows well upon that of yesterday. We are evidently to be conformed to our covenant Head, not only in His being bruised in His heel but in His conquest of the evil one. Even under our feet is the old dragon to be bruised. The Roman believers were grieved with strife in the church; but their God was "the God of peace" and gave them rest of soul. The archenemy tripped up the feet of the unwary and deceived the hearts of the simple; but he was to get the worst of it and to be trodden down by those whom he had troubled. This victory would not come to the people of God through their own skill or power; but God Himself would bruise Satan. Though it would be under their feet, yet the bruising would be of the Lord alone.
Let us bravely tread upon the tempter! Not only inferior spirits but the prince of darkness himself must go down before us. In unquestioning confidence in God let us look for speedy victory. "Shortly." Happy word! Shortly we shall set our foot on the old serpent! What a joy to crush evil! What dishonor to Satan to have his head bruised by human feet! Let us by faith in Jesus tread the tempter down.

funny poems

Okay, he misspelled a few words, but it's still cute...

Wilma Rudolph was the 20th of 22 children.  She was born prematurely and her survival was doubtful.  When she was four years old, she contracted double pneumonia and scarlet fever, which left her with a paralyzed left leg.  At age nine, she removed the metal leg brace she had been dependent on and began to walk without it.  By 13 she had developed a rhythmic walk, which doctors said was a miracle.  That same year she decided to become a runner.  She entered a race and came in last.  For the next few years every race she entered, she came in last.  Everyone told her to quit but she kept on running.  One day she actually won a race.  And then another.  From then on she won every race she entered.  Eventually this little girl, who was told she would never walk again, went on to win three Olympic gold medals.

Never give up!

***Thousands of Hot Wheels pour in for sick Utah boy. This is nice.

Doctors and nurses at the hospital caught on that the tiny little cars settled their patient down. They ran around the hospital trying to find a car for him before each procedure. They also knew not to touch the cars on the pillows or take them out of his hand.
"It's a miracle that he's running around now," Carnesecca said. "I thought I was listening to my child die."
Family friend and local blogger John Lambert wrote about Ethan's illness earlier this month. He wrote how Ethan loved his blue Hot Wheels Camaro, which rarely left his hand. He even posted a photo of Ethan sleeping, while holding his car.
"You never could have predicted this would happen," Lambert said. "This is overwhelming just seeing it."
Although Ethan is back home, the cars keep coming by the truckload.

the end of the day
