Stupid-Strategy Sweepstakes

***Not talking about Obama's foreign policy "strategy" this time, but the large companies who seem to be unable to stand up to the false and pseudo-science of busybody activists. This time it's Lowe's and Home Depot trying to outdo each other in the quest for doing nothing positive but feeling good about it.

The people who need education are the ones at Lowe’s who decided to phase out “neonics” to protect bees. Contrary to oft-repeated claims, honeybee populations are not declining. According to U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization statistics, the world’s honeybee population rose to 80 million colonies in 2011 from 50 million in 1960. In the U.S. and Europe, honeybee populations have been stable (or even rising slightly over the past couple of years) during the two decades since neonics were introduced, according to U.N. and USDA data. Statistics Canada reports an increase to 672,000 honeybee colonies in Canada, up from 501,000, over the same two decades.

  Very informative article.

***Some college professors should not be anywhere near students. Check out the tweets of Saida Grundy, an incoming assistant professor of sociology and African-American studies at Boston University:

"White masculinity is THE problem for america’s (sic) colleges," white men are a "problem population,” and that she tries to avoid shopping at white-owned businesses.

Keep in mind that she would be the first to tell you how inclusive and non-judgmental she is. That alone suggests a mental problem in my opinion. This wasn't received well by a lot of Boston University's alumni:

“You have to teach college-aged white males eventually, no?... this seems like you are unqualified to grade their work as you clearly demonstrate some kind of special bias against them,” he wrote.

“It is truly a sad day to be a BU alum,” one Boston University graduate from the class of 2008 told, and shared a letter he had sent to University President Robert Brown and the dean of students.

“In light of the university’s willingness to invite vile rhetoric onto a campus that I spent four wonderful years at, I commit to never donate to Boston University,” he wrote in his letter.

Another wrote, “As a Boston University alumnus and a father of a son who will graduate from BU next week, I am deeply saddened by this revelation. It has become apparent that BU no longer supports a value system in line with human decency.”

At least there are some willing to stand up to the real bigots here.

***Hillary Clinton's email case reopened by federal judge. Good. I can't help but think how different the investigations and coverage would be if she were a Republican.

A federal judge has reopened an open-records case trying to pry loose some of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s emails, marking the first time a court has taken action on the email scandal.
Judge Reggie B. Walton agreed Friday to a joint request by the State Department and Judicial Watch, which sued in 2012 to get a look at some of Mrs. Clinton’s documents concerning a public relations push.
Both sides agreed that the revelation that Mrs. Clinton had kept her own email server separate from the government, and exclusively used her own email account created on that server, meant that she had shielded her messages from valid open-records requests.

***All 19 women wash out of Army Ranger school. Face it, gals. There's a difference between men and women, and that's not a bad thing!

***I wouldn't spread that around - but I guess you're safe for a few years, so what does it matter?

“I had to warn reporters not to faint last week before offering the president some praise on trade,” Mr. McConnell said, according to USA Today. “I’m even getting handwritten notes from the president these days. He sent one the other day to thank me for supporting the nomination of Loretta Lynch.”

 How sweet.

***Looks like me with French Fries.

***Tiny "Lucky Penny" house. This is cute and would be fun for maybe camping for a weekend or something, but it would be too cramped for me to live in for long.

The Flatulence Tax
A flatulance tax on cattle and sheep,
Another rip-off to make us all weep.
Preserving the ozone at any expense,
It's all propaganda that doesn't make sense.

Abandon the flock and abolish the herd,
When it comes to survival, then nothing's absurd.
But what will we eat for daily protein?
The answer is simple, the mighty baked bean.

So plough in the forrage and pastures too
Put paid to the curse of the cattle poo.
Then plant all the land with navy beans,
Belching out gasses from smokey machines.

The resulting erosion will wipe any smiles,
Make the Greenies appear they're suffering piles.
With options so few when it comes to a meal,
And the after affects still part of the deal.

With the whole population gobbling baked beans,
The potential was there for some horrid scenes.
The worst of our fears were about to come true,
The Follies were gobbling their baked beans too.

And adding more fuel to their natural reserve,
The electorate was poised to get its deserve.
Their innards vibrated their faces contorted,
The speaker collapsed and debate was aborted.

Then rising as one from babes to old Granny,
With timing so perfect was almost uncanny.
The whole population let off a great fart,
With a bloody big bang blew the ozone apart.
