Still Free

***James opened the service this morning with a reminder to remember our fallen soldiers, and be thankful for those who are serving now. He reminded us that we were able to drive to church and gather together to worship without having to worry about being arrested or killed for it. He gave us a somber reminder of Christians around the world who are being jailed or killed for their faith. We need to keep them in prayer, and continue to be thankful for our freedoms. We also need to be vigilant, lest those freedoms are taken away. There are people in this country who seek to silence Christians, and we can't let them win.

***Check out the Home of Heroes web site. It has several stories about people you've never heard of, but they were willing to give their all for their country. Read a couple of these, it will humble you.

A Soldier
by Robert Frost

He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,
That lies unlifted now, come dew, come rust,
But still lies pointed as it plowed the dust.
If we who sight along it round the world,
See nothing worthy to have been its mark,
It is because like men we look too near,
Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,
Our missiles always make too short an arc.
They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect
The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;
They make us cringe for metal-point on stone.
But this we know, the obstacle that checked
And tripped the body, shot the spirit on
Further than target ever showed or shone.

***RIP John Nash.

***Huckabee defends "Fair Tax," says it won't hurt poor. Well of course it won't - but politicians, especially the Left, certainly don't want to give up any tax receipts. Heaven forbid they actually have to rein in their spending.

***"I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong."
Abraham Lincoln

***Have a great day!
