***Had a great reminder this week of how important it is to encourage one another and lift each other up. I sang this past Sunday, and just didn't think it went that well. Didn't make any big mistakes or anything, I was just more nervous than usual for some reason, even though I know the song very well and have done it before. Lo and behold, I got a note this week from one of the sweet ladies from our church telling me how much she enjoyed the song and what a blessing it was. Well, THAT certainly made my whole week, and makes me want to pass along the joy to others. God always knows what we need, even in the little things.

***Senate follows House in passing conservative budget.
Republicans muscled a balanced-budget plan through the Senate early Friday, positioning Congress for months of battling President Barack Obama over the GOP's goals of slicing spending and dismantling his health care law.
Working into Friday's pre-dawn hours, senators approved the blueprint by a near party-line 52-46 vote, endorsing a measure that closely follows one the House passed Wednesday. Both budgets embody a conservative vision of shrinking projected federal deficits by more than $5 trillion over the coming decade, mostly by cutting health care and other benefit programs and without raising taxes.
Saving money? Fiscal responsibility? Shrinking government? ANATHEMA to the liberals! We'll see who the obstructionist is now, won't we?
***The U.S. (read: The hapless Obama administration) caves to Iran in nuke deal. Anybody else feel we're heading toward a cliff and can't stop?
The Obama administration is giving in to Iranian demands about the scope of its nuclear program as negotiators work to finalize a framework agreement in the coming days, according to sources familiar with the administration’s position in the negotiations.***
U.S. negotiators are said to have given up ground on demands that Iran be forced to disclose the full range of its nuclear activities at the outset of a nuclear deal, a concession experts say would gut the verification the Obama administration has vowed would stand as the crux of a deal with Iran.

***Mississippi lawmakers OK vouchers for special needs students at faith-based schools. This is good news.
Parents with special-needs kids in Mississippi could soon use taxpayer dollars to send them to faith-based schools, under a new bill approved by the state Legislature on Thursday.
The legislation would allow parents with disabled children to take them out of public school and put them into a religious academic institution, with the help of government vouchers. The bill, which already passed the House, cleared the Senate on Thursday and now heads to Gov. Phil Bryant -- who is expected to sign it.
“Special needs students deserve the opportunity to succeed,” Bryant said in a statement. “This bill gives parents the power to provide additional resources to help their children obtain the education and support they need.”
