The Obamas are closing out their Hawaii vacation at one of the ritziest joints on Oahu.
President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama dined Thursday night for nearly three hours at Vintage Cave, an exclusive restaurant that charges up to $500,000 for membership.
According to the restaurant's website, guests are whisked into a "cave-like environment" and encouraged to "escape the ordinary." The Waikiki restaurant's interior is composed of granite "quarried in the mountains of India" and custom-crafted furniture in a space that evokes the "underground architecture of ancient Rome."
And the meal? About as fine dining as it gets. According to Honolulu magazine, the bill for two can approach $1,000.
The restaurant offers two tiers of memberships: $500,000 for a "charter member,' and $50,000 for a "special member."
You do know who's paying for all that, right? What is sickening is his "the rich are horrible" routine while at the same time living the high life on our dime. I can't wait until they're GONE...trouble is, they're going to be like the Clintons - like a nagging housefly you just can't quite get away from.
*** This is so true: Liberals can't argue, they can only bully. Don't let them get away with it.
No one expects sensible commentary on firearms from the New Yorker, but this gun control rant is worth noting because it is so typical of modern liberalism. Facts? Who needs facts? Bullying is all that the left aspires to.
I get into discussions with liberals on a regular basis. It is rarely more than 3-4 back-and-forths before they run out of substance and either try to change the subject, or start with ad hominem personal attacks. They never, ever stick with the subject at hand because they rarely have any facts at their disposal, only baseless emotion.
***19-year-old girl wakes up during brain surgery, asks doctors "How's it going?" You gotta be kidding...
A teenage girl in Poland woke up during brain surgery and asked her doctors how the operation was going, The Daily Mirror reported.
Iga Jasica, 19, had been undergoing the procedure to have a cancerous growth removed from her brain. Doctors say she woke up halfway through the surgery when the anesthetic wore off. Her brain was exposed, but surgeons say the southwest Polish girl’s health was not in jeopardy.
“Despite coming round, she didn’t feel anything and was never in danger,” neurosurgeon Dawid Larysz told The Daily Mirror. He added that Jasica wouldn’t have been able to see or feel anything. Jasica doesn’t remember waking up during the surgery.
***"The Love Boat" cast reunites for Rose Bowl parade. I used to love that show.
