Ted Nugent: Spot On

***Please excuse the language, but Ted Nugent absolutely nails it:

“Here’s the lessons from Ferguson America- Don’t let your kids growup to be thugs who think they can steal, assault & attack cops as a way of life & badge of black (dis)honor. Don’t preach your racist bullsh*t “no justice no peace” as blabbered by Obama’s racist Czar Al Not So Sharpton & their black klansmen. When a cop tells you to get out of the middle of the street, obey him & don’t attack him as brainwashed by the gangsta a**holes you hang with & look up to. It’s that simple unless you have no brains, no soul, no sense of decency whatsoever. And dont claim that “black lives matter” when you ignore the millions you abort & slaughter each & every day by other blacks. Those of us with a soul do indeed believe black lives matter, as all lives matter. So quit killin each other you f*ckin idiots. Drive safely.”

The leftists are babbling and spitting like they've had a lobotomy. Actually, that would explain a lot...

A pet pig trying to board a U.S. Airways plane in Connecticut found out that not all pigs can fly.
The porky passenger was grounded at Bradley International Airport for turning the cabin into a pig pen and disrupting other passengers.
The 70-pound pot-bellied pig was brought on to the flight as an emotional support animal for a woman who was flying to Washington Wednesday. Passenger Rob Phelps told the CBS affiliate in Springfield, Mass., that the flight crew booted the woman and the pig from the plane before it left because the animal was squealing and had defecated in the aisle.

Seriously? A pig as an emotional support animal? Just when you think you've heard everything.

***Have you thought about what has happened to the life of Darrell Wilson? I was listening to Jasmius and Doug Gibbs on BlogTalk radio and they were discussing this.  He's certainly never going to work in law enforcement again, and he will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. All because he did his job. The animals out there protesting, looting, and destroying claim to be "honoring" Michael Brown. How, exactly?

***Great piece from Focus on the Family:

Blessing your Spouse

This world can be a tough place. It's filled with trials, pain and heartache. Quite often, by day's end your spouse's heart is bruised, battered and bloodied. He or she may feel discouraged, frustrated or hurt. And yet, in the midst of life's tribulations, your spouse has been given a special gift: you.
Every day you have the opportunity to give your spouse what we call "the blessing." The blessing is what we all long for – acceptance and affirmation. In fact, to "affirm" something is to confirm its truth and to strengthen it. When you bless your spouse, you are speaking truth into his or her life or you are calling out something you see that's positive.
Our heavenly Father modeled this blessing when Jesus was baptized. In a voice from heaven, God said: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased" (Mark 1:11). The Father offered this blessing before Jesus had done anything in the way of public miracles or recorded ministry. God was honoring who Jesus was – His character, His heart – not His actions or behavior. And if Jesus benefitted from His Father's blessing, your spouse will benefit from yours.

Read the whole thing.

And They're Off!

***Mom & I went to the mall for a little while today. It really wasn't too bad. I had a particular item in mind, and she did a little shopping at Penney's. We avoided Wal-Mart, The parking lots at Menard's and Kohl's were absolutely full. I do most of my shopping online, but what I was looking for was 40% off so it was worth the traffic and hustle & bustle. Got that accomplished, and when I got home I got all my fall decorations down. The place looks naked! We're going to get our tree Sunday, doesn't seem possible it's time for the Christmas tree! I should be out putting my outside lights up because it's not too cold, but I want to get some more transcription done today. With a little luck it'll be nice tomorrow and I can get them up.

***McDonald's in a church? People, if you have to do that to get people to come to your church, you need a new preacher.

As church attendance falls, one group believes that the lure of a burger and fries might make church more appealing.
McMass Project, which is the brainchild of Paul Di Lucca -- a creative director at the church branding agency Lux Dei Design -- is raising funds to put a McDonald's franchise inside a place of worship.
"Christianity is unable to capture modern audiences," Di Lucca told NBC News.  "There's a lack of innovation and lack of design thinking in Church communities."
The multi-denominational group has launched a campaign on the crowdfunding site IndieGoGo and hopes to raise $1 million to build the first McDonald's church.  As of Friday, only $104 has been raised.

That must be the dumbest idea I've ever heard.

The Song of Mr. Toad
by Kenneth Grahame

The world has held great Heroes,
As history-books have showed;
But never a name to go down to fame
Compared with that of Toad

The clever men at Oxford
Know all that there is to be knowed.
But they none of them knew one half as much
As intelligent Mr Toad!

The animals sat in the Ark and cried,
Their tears in torrents flowed.
Who was it said, “There’s land ahead?”
Encouraging Mr Toad!

The Army all saluted
As they marched along the road.
Was it the King? Or Kitchener?
No. It was Mr Toad!

The Queen and her Ladies-in-waiting
Sat at the window and sewed.
She cried, “Look! who’s that handsome man?”
They answered, “Mr Toad.”

A Day for Thanks

***Yes, there is a lot of bad stuff going on in the world today. We are blessed in so many ways, though, and today is the day to focus on that. I hope you get to be with your families/friends and are able to focus on the good things in your life. We all take so much for granted.

Poster Ours...to fight for--Freedom From Want

I always post this on Thanksgiving, it's my favorite Norman Rockwell painting.

***Ronald Reagan's 1985 Thanksgiving address:

"Good morning, everyone. You know, the Statue of Liberty and this wonderful holiday called Thanksgiving go together naturally because although as Americans we have many things for which to be thankful, none is more important than our liberty.
Liberty: that quality of government, that brightness of mind and spirit for which the Pilgrim Fathers braved the seas and Americans for two centuries have laid down their lives.
Today, while religion is suppressed in perhaps one third of the world, we Americans are free to worship the Almighty as we choose.
While entire nations must endure the yoke of tyranny, we are free to speak our minds, to enjoy an unfettered and vigorous press, and to make government abide by the limits we deem just.
While millions live behind walls, we remain free to travel throughout the land to share this precious day with those we love most deeply – the members of our families.
My fellow Americans, let us keep this Thanksgiving Day sacred. Let us thank God for the bounty and goodness of our nation. And as a measure of our gratitude, let us rededicate ourselves to the preservation of this: the land of the free and the home of the brave.
From the Reagan family to your family: Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you all.”

Amen, Mr. President. We miss you.

Hall of Shame

***Great piece by Roger L. Simon:

That the photograph of Walter Duranty — the New York Times Moscow correspondent who deliberately whitewashed Stalin’s 1930s forced starvation of millions of Ukrainians and won the Pulitzer for it — still is on the newspaper’s wall of fame with their other prize winners is apparently no aberration. The New York Times has no moral center. In fact, it’s despicable. On November 24, they published the home address of Officer Darren Wilson.
By now most of America knows who Wilson is — the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer exonerated for the murder of Michael Brown, the supposed 6′ 6″, three-hundred-pound “gentle giant” who was reportedly on his way to college, but it turns out was holding up convenience stores and trying to grab Wilson’s gun and bashing him in the face all while the officer was sitting in his police car. We also all know the reaction of some of the angrier members of the Ferguson community and those omnipresent “outside agitator” dime-store anarchists to the grand jury announcement — cars torched, minority businesses burned down, looting, gunfire, freeways blocked, etc., etc. A lot of out-of-control mayhem from L.A. to NY with racial hatred fanned at every turn. The NYT apparently doesn’t give a shit (excuse the French, but it’s merited). In the midst of all this, they print Wilson’s address. It was to them “all the news that’s fit to print.” Who cares what might happen to the cop and his family? He’s just a cop, after all, and a white one at that. Definitely not a member of the elite — not bon type, bon genre. (Maybe someone should do a country song — “Two thousand miles from Zabar’s.”)
So much for that newspaper. They’re cancer.
Not quite cancer but pretty bad is Jay Nixon, the governor of Missouri. Not only did he attempt to prejudge the case, calling for Wilson’s head like some minor league Robespierre months before there was any evidence, but then, on the night of the grand jury announcement, after having brought in the National Guard, he goes completely AWOL and doesn’t use the Guards at all, leaving the poor store owners of Ferguson to fend for themselves, not to mention the police. Everyone got to watch the results on TV.
Peter Kinder, the vice governor of Missouri, wants to know what happened. Why no Guards, when they were all set to go? Did the word come down from the White House or the Department of Justice to keep the Guards out? Nixon didn’t answer, just accused Kinder of playing politics. (At least he didn’t play the race card, but that would be hard, white man to white man…. although it’s possible.) So we don’t know… yet.

It's obvious liberals don't know how to handle a crisis. Obama has proven it from Day 1, and it just goes on.

***If you haven't yet seen or read Darren Wilson's interview with George Stephanopoulos (yeah, you'll have to put up with that twit), here it is.

***Illegals eligible for Social Security, Medicare under amnesty plan. This is an abomination. It's enough to make your head explode.

President Barack Obama's plan to bring illegal immigrants "out of the shadows" will make millions of them eligible for Social Security and Medicare benefits and likely allow them to eventually collect more than they have legally contributed, reports say.

That part of the plan has some Republicans stunned.

"First with Obamacare we were told we should pass it and then read it to find out what was in it," Republican National Committee spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski told The Washington Post

"Now Obama overreached and acted unilaterally on immigration, which should have been vetted and authorized by Congress, and we’re finding out there’s more to the story than Obama and the Democrats originally told Americans."
And we thought Clinton was a liar. He's a piker compared to Obama.

The joke has come to life in Georgetown, where a student who was recently mugged at gunpoint has written an article justifying the muggers because of his privilege. I’d suspect this of being a grand punk job, but I think the student, Oliver Friedfeld, actually means it:

A little boy wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened. Then he decided to write God a letter requesting the $100.00. When the postal authorities received the letter to God, USA, they decided to send it to the President. The president was so amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little boy a $5.00 bill. The president thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little boy. The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 bill and sat down to write a thank-you note to God, which read:

Anarchy

***What a mess in Ferguson, Missouri. The grand jury looked at the evidence, heard hundreds of hours of testimony, and came to a decision. That's not good enough for the rabble rousers. I really don't even think they cared what the outcome would be, they just want an excuse to be the thugs they are. If any blood is spilled, in my opinion it's on the hands of Obama, Sharpton, Jackson, Holder, et al who did all they could to stir up the people there.

***Virginia woman admits $7.2 million child-credit tax fraud.

More than a year after Watchdog reported the IRS sent thousands refunds to the tiny town of Parksley, Va., a woman has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and mail fraud.
Linda Avila admitted to obtaining more than $7.2 million in refunds by exploiting the federal government’s child tax credit program.
Avila filed more than 1,700 tax returns with stolen identifications used by illegal immigrants, mainly from Mexico.
The Virginian-Pilot reported that Avila, 50, operated a landscaping and cleaning business in Parksley.
Investigators found copies of refund checks in amounts from $4,000 to more than $7,000. The tax returns frequently cited foreign dependents, which increased the refund amounts.

***Real ways to make money from home. There are some good ideas here.

During a recent staff-retreat day, our leader asked us to think back to a time when we encountered an “unlikely vessel” of God’s grace. That question reminded me of an experience a few years ago that was an important event in my spiritual life.
I was sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a friend. I was wearing a baseball cap to (somewhat) disguise the fact that chemotherapy had caused me to lose most of my hair. A young man approached my table and said, “May I ask, are you in treatment?” I said yes, and he said, “So is my mom.” After a brief conversation in which he asked me to tell him my story, he said, “I hope it goes well for you.”
Since that encounter, my spiritual discipline has been to approach each person I see who is obviously a cancer patient and offer the opportunity to tell the story of his or her diagnosis and treatment. Their stories are gifts of grace for me. I always offer a prayer for these courageous people, either silently or aloud.
That young man was an unlikely vessel of God’s grace for me. Since that time, my hope has been to be such a vessel for others.

I like that one.

In Everything Give Thanks

***Pastor James opened the service this morning with I Thessalonians 5:16-18:

16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I certainly haven't been doing that lately, perhaps you've noticed. It is hard to thank God for the political situation we're in. I know the context pertains more to one's personal situations, but I doubt that He is terribly happy with my attitude when it comes to Barack Obama and the Democrats. It's a daily struggle, and I'm glad for the reminder today.

Feeling Pretty Toasty Now Though

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: ”How heavy is this glass of water?”
Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.
She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”
She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”
It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

Buzzkill

***I think part of Obama's plan in issuing his unconstitutional executive orders regarding amnesty for illegals is to kill our enthusiasm regarding our historic victory on election day. He certainly threw a wet blanket on that, didn't he? This has me heartsick, I have the same feelings I had both times he was elected, a kind of doom and foreboding like our Republic will not survive this. I sincerely, fervently hope I'm wrong. Once these millions of illegals are pardoned and allowed to stay, there certainly is going to be no sending them back, no matter what Republicans do. It's only a matter of time before they start shedding crocodile tears about America's cruelty in not allowing them to vote - and we all know how they'll vote. So does Obama, that's the point. He and the Democrats do not care what this is going to do to our nation, they care about power. Period.

Joe R. Hicks, former executive director of the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference:
President Obama strode into the White House promising to give the American people the audacity of hope.  What we are witnessing instead, with his immigration agenda, is an audacious grab for power and an evisceration of the Constitution.
Having kicked the can down the road, obviously refusing to ruin his own chances for re-election in 2012, and tap-dancing on the issue until after the 2014 mid-term elections, Obama now disdainfully punches the amnesty card for upwards of five million illegal residents with the knowledge that almost half of all Americans polled oppose his maneuver.
With the stroke of a pen, Obama rewards those who arrogantly mock our border laws while simultaneously telling those hopeful immigrants still waiting patiently to lawfully come to America that they are chumps.
After these five million or so, what then?  The magnet that draws illegal immigrants across the border just got stronger.  They will come expecting, — no, demanding — to get “Obama’s amnesty.”
In 2010, defending his inaction on immigration issues, Obama said, “I’m president, I’m not king.  I can’t do these things just by myself.”  That’s all changed, and the Constitution lies in tatters as a result.

It's a sad day, and I hope Republicans have a plan to stop him and the guts to do it. Here's a start, anyway:

Representatives Ted Poe (R-TX2) and Diane Black (R-TN6) have introduced legislation to prohibit funding to implement President Obama's executive action on immigration.

Their bill, titled The Separation of Powers Act, would block the use of funds for deferring deportations of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally or providing work permits.

Poe said the legislation would reinforce the constitutional principle of checks and balances.

"This legislation will allow Congress to exercise its 'check' on an out-of-control White House that treats the Constitution as a mere suggestion, not the law of the land," Poe said.

Black said the measure could be one of the options for Republicans to respond to President Obama's action.

"My colleagues and I will explore our options to stop this overreach and restore the proper Constitutional balance to our government — this legislation is an important start," Black said.

I need to read a little more, but I'm wondering if a case against this could be taken to the Supreme Court. If it can, it should.

***America for Me
by Henry van Dyke

'Tis fine to see the Old World and travel up and down
Among the famous palaces and cities of renown,
To admire the crumbly castles and the statues and kings
But now I think I've had enough of antiquated things.

So it's home again, and home again, America for me!
My heart is turning home again and there I long to be,
In the land of youth and freedom, beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars.

Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living there is no place like home.

I like the German fir-woods in green battalions drilled;
I like the gardens of Versailles with flashing fountains filled;
But, oh, to take your hand, my dear, and ramble for a day
In the friendly western woodland where Nature has her sway!

I know that Europe's wonderful, yet something seems to lack!
The Past is too much with her, and the people looking back.
But the glory of the Present is to make the Future free--
We love our land for what she is and what she is to be.

Oh, it's home again, and home again, America for me!
I want a ship that's westward bound to plough the rolling sea,
To the blessed Land of Room Enough, beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars

Palmieri, when asked the question again, went on to defend the president in a similar manner: "But it doesn't tear up the constitution. And you will see -- everyone will see that it doesn't."

Tell me in whose fevered mind allowing 4 million more into a workforce which has millions unemployed will "create jobs and strengthen the economy." Tell me how allowing these people to stay here when they came illegally will "strengthen our border security." What kind of fool believes that?

Amnesty

***I'm sure you've heard by now about Obama's plans to unconstitutionally bypass Congress and grant amnesty to millions of illegals. We the people made our views abundantly clear on Nov. 4, but he has spent his entire presidency governing against the will of the people, and he's not about to stop now. This just has me sick at heart. I'm not surprised by his action, he is a man without character or honor, and he will do whatever he deems necessary to further his anti-America, Socialist agenda. It hurts me, though, to watch him tear down this great nation, and to watch Democrats who were elected to protect this country, who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, stand idly by and let him rip it apart. That party has completely lost its soul. I have a negative opinion of anyone who can still call themselves a Democrat. I read too many threads while Bush was president about his "fascism" and how he "acted unilaterally to start a war (which of course is nonsense)," etc. etc. Those same people are not saying a word about this president's obvious contempt for the Constitution and the will of the people. Ferguson Mess

***Looks like Muslim groups are trying to get in on the action now.

Muslim groups have stepped up efforts to co-opt protests over the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., with a drive to equate the teen’s death to the death of a radical Islamist shot during an FBI raid in 2009, a Washington-based security watchdog group is warning.
Using social media, conference calling and traditional outreach methods, leaders of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) are portraying Brown and Detroit mosque leader Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah as African-American victims of police targeting, according to the Washington-based Center for Security Policy (CSP). In a conference call organized by CAIR-linked "Muslims for Ferguson, a CAIR official called Abdullah a “Shaheed,” or martyr, and said both he and Brown were victims of a national security apparatus that had “completely gone wild” and engaged in “demonizing and criminalizing Muslims.”

All of them are pathetic liars. They know they're not being targeted, but it makes for a good sound bite. Did you know CAIR has been designated a terrorist group by United Arab Emirates? Why can't we see what is in our own backyard? What good has this group EVER done in this country? We coddle and appease the very people who want us all dead. That is insane.

Oh Really?

***King Obama, at G20 summit:

“The fact that some adviser who was never on our staff expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters is not a reflection on the actual process that was run.”

Oh really?

  • Gruber was not only paid $92,000 by HHS to build an ObamaCare simulation model, he was later signed to an eight-month contract for an additional $297,000, bringing his total take from the administration to nearly $400,000.
  • White House logs show that Gruber met in the Oval Office with Obama, senior advisor David Axelrod and CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf. According to Gruber, Obama was concerned with the politics of passing ObamaCare.
  • Nancy Pelosi claimed last week that she had never heard of Gruber; she praised the MIT economist in 2009 for his work on ObamaCare.

I think the above qualifies as a "damned lie."

***This amazes me, but it shouldn't.
Senate Democratic leaders, in a letter to President Obama on Monday, asked him to circumvent Congress and grant legal status to illegal immigrants on his own, saying he must step in where the House GOP has refused to act.
The Democrats had absolute power from 2008 - 2010. The Republicans didn't have the power to stop anything. Why didn't they act then? Because they need a scapegoat, that's why. They know how unpopular amnesty is, and when they had all the power they knew they couldn't blame the results of their folly on the Republicans. What a vile, dishonest bunch.

If George W. Bush had pulled half the stuff Obama has, he would have been impeached long ago.

Feminists are Weenies

***Feminists turned a wonderful scientific achievement and turned into all about what one of the scientists wore. I can't believe he apologized, geez.

So how are things going for feminism? Well, last week, some feminists took one of the great achievements of human history — landing a probe from Earth on a comet hundreds of millions of miles away — and made it all about the clothes.
Yes, that's right. After years of effort, the European Space Agency's lander Philaelanded on a comet 300 million miles away. At first, people were excited. Then some women noticed that one of the space scientists, Matt Taylor, was wearing a shirt, made for him by a female "close pal," featuring comic-book depictions of semi-naked women. And suddenly, the triumph of the comet landing was drowned out by shouts of feminist outrage about ... what people were wearing. It was one small shirt for a man, one giant leap backward for womankind.
The Atlantic's Rose Eveleth tweeted, "No no women are toooootally welcome in our community, just ask the dude in this shirt." Astrophysicist Katie Mack commented: "I don't care what scientists wear. But a shirt featuring women in lingerie isn't appropriate for a broadcast if you care about women in STEM." And from there, the online feminist lynch mob took off until Taylor was forced to deliver a tearful apology on camera.
It seems to me that if you care about women in STEM, maybe you shouldn't want to communicate the notion that they're so delicate that they can't handle pictures of comic-book women. Will we stock our Mars spacecraft with fainting couches?

Feminists try to make themselves sound like "strong, independent" women, but get offended and nearly swoon if someone whistles at them (probably doesn't happen much), cracks a joke, or wears a shirt with comic book women. They sound to me like a bunch of weenies. Quick! The smelling salts!

Dancers at a strip club are due more than $10 million in back wages and tips, a federal judge ruled Friday after the dancers sued to be paid at least a minimum wage. And additional claims are headed for trial in the class action case, meaning there ultimately could be further awards to roughly 1,900 women who worked at Rick's Cabaret in Manhattan between 2005 and 2012.
"We are very happy with the court's ruling," said the dancers' Minneapolis-based lawyer, E. Michelle Drake.
The club's owner, Houston-based RCI Hospitality Holdings Inc., said it planned to appeal and continue "vigorously defending the allegations."

The Most Dangerous Cities

***Guess which party governs the most dangerous cities in America?

Shocked, I tell you! Shocked!
According to TruthRevolt.com via Law Street Media, you’ll be shocked to know that of the top ten most dangerous cities with populations over 200k in America, nine are run by… Democrats.
Via Truth Revolt-
The cities with populations over 200,000 ranked as the most dangerous are:
  1. Detroit, MI – Mayor Mike Duggan – DEMOCRAT
  2. Oakland, CA – Mayor Jean Quan – DEMOCRAT
  3. Memphis, TN – Mayor A C Wharton – DEMOCRAT
  4. St. Louis, MO – Mayor Francis G. Slay – DEMOCRAT
  5. Cleveland, OH – Mayor Frank G. Jackson – DEMOCRAT
  6. Baltimore, MD – Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake – DEMOCRAT
  7. Milwaukee, WI – Mayor Tom Barrett – DEMOCRAT
  8. Birmingham, AL – Mayor William A. Bell – DEMOCRAT
  9. Newark, NJ – Mayor Ras Baraka – DEMOCRAT
  10. Kansas City, MO – Mayor Sly James – Independent (but probably a DEMOCRAT)

Surprised?

***I don't know if you had this experience, but I remember when the unemployment rate was below 5% during Bush's tenure, and people were saying, well, that's just because they ran out of unemployment benefits. You don't hear them saying anything about that now, do you? The economy as a whole was much, much better during the Bush years.

Good piece from IJ Review:

The increase in the “not in labor force” category can be seen among both genders. About 28.5% of men last month said that they weren’t looking for employment, while 40.2% of women agreed. Those numbers are up from 23.9% and 38% in 2000, respectively.
Economic researchers disagree on the extent to which various factors influence the ongoing weakness in the labor participation rate. But they all agree that various aspects of labor market weakness play a significant role in why a higher percentage of Americans are not employed now than at any time since 1978.
So, if anyone tries to point to the falling jobless rate as evidence of a surging economy, be sure to tell them to figure in that it’s falling in large part because Americans have stopped receiving unemployment benefits; in other words, not because they secured a job, but because they decided to stop (or not even start) looking for one.

***Make plans, but remember success comes to those who execute.

Is planning really necessary? Yes. And no.
Yes, because everything you do must have a plan. Particularly if you’re running a business. You can’t just make an investment or jump into a new project without a reason. You have to have a long-term objective in mind and a plan for achieving that objective. Smart business people always have plans. They hate surprises. They want to make sure they’ve thought through all the options. But planning only goes so far. At some point, you’re going to have to actually execute and take a chance.

My company is growing by leaps and bounds. I have liberal friends who like to give Obama the credit. Believe me, I slap that down in a heartbeat. It has nothing to do with Obama, and everything to do with hard work and perseverance. This is still America and great things can still be achieved, in SPITE of the Democrats, not because of them. You just have to work harder at it. I got three more clients yesterday that I wasn't even trying for. When I'm gonna do them, I have no idea. But in business, sometimes you just have to say yes and then figure out how. I may have to hire another typist because the five I have are pretty much maxed out and I don't want to burn them out. They're all great transcriptionists and I'm very thankful for them, therefore I'm not going to abuse them by giving them too much work. I'm just gonna take this a day at a time.

Let Go, Keep it Simple, Move Quickly: Secrets to Being a Productive Entrepreneur (Infographic)

I've considered dropping Facebook because I probably spend about an hour altogether in a day, in five minute snippets, reading and posting stuff. I guess since I work at home, it's my link to the outside world. It's a good place to stay in touch with family and friends that you otherwise rarely see. I could be more productive with that hour, but for now I enjoy the pictures of my great-niece and being able to keep up with some of the goings-on in the lives of my family and friends too much to let it go. I did get out of some groups because I was getting caught up in debates and conversations that were eating up too much time - it really is useless and counterproductive to debate with a liberal who still believes that Obama is the Messiah. I can't help myself, though, so I just quit the groups so I wouldn't see the updates. My other guilty pleasure is eBay.

***The Blessing Tree
by John Sharrock

I had gone into a supervisor's office to talk about a couple of issues that needed to be addressed. She, like all of the men and women in her department, had been through the proverbial 'ringer.' The stress was so intense, one could almost taste it.

I had been assisting the department during a crunch period of being very short-handed, and was watching everyone get close to burn-out. When I inquired about her state of mind, she confessed that her home life was almost non-existent, because she was 'zombie-ing through the evening'. The next words out of her mouth expressed a frustration of my own: "This work is not my gift from God. My family is!"

I had heard of hanging all of one's problems from the office on a "Trouble Tree" while driving home, to be picked up on the way back to the office in the morning, and for a brief second thought about suggesting that scenario.

But what came out was: "Why don't we do something different? Let's have a Blessing Tree. On the way home in the evening, we could pull down a blessing to dwell on a character trait we adore in our spouse, a particular reason we love them, the love they or our children have for us, etc. The list could be endless.

When I tried it on the way home that night, the stress seemed to melt away. There was a 'spring in my step' and when I arrived, a smile of joy and contentment was bubbling up from within! For the first time in 2 weeks, I was overjoyed to greet my wife and children!
The Blessing Tree could make a major difference in your evenings, especially after those REALLY tough days.

***The National Cathedral held a Muslim prayer service today. As if that wasn't blasphemous enough, an openly transgender "priest" will fill the pulpit this Sunday. I think it's safe to say Satan has gained control there.

To observe LGBT pride month, the historic Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., has invited the Rev. Dr. Cameron Partridge of the Episcopal Church to become the first openly transgender priest to preach from its pulpit on Sunday.
Partridge, who is the Episcopal chaplain at Boston University, has been invited as a guest preacher to speak from Canterbury Pulpit at the cathedral, according to The Associated Press.
Right Rev. Gene Robinson, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, will preside at the service, which will include readings and prayers by members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

There is so much wrong with that I don't know where to start.

***House passes Keystone bill, future unclear in the Senate. They'll probably have to wait until next year to get anything done.

***They're trying to deny it, but Jonathan Gruber, the arrogant fraud who was one of the chief players in foisting Obamacare on America was a well-paid government employee, chief adviser for the monstrosity of a government run health care boondoggle we're stuck with for the moment. As you can imagine, only Fox News and conservative talk radio/blogs/web sites are reporting this. Should be big news, don't you think? But no, they're still covering for the Democrats and Obama. It makes me sick what has become of journalism in this country.

During the heyday of the ObamaCare push, Jonathan Gruber was whiz-kid-in-chief. His number-crunching on the benefits of the plan was frequently cited by Democrats trying to sell the proposal to the public.
Now, Washington Democrats have a new message: He’s not with us.
After a string of videos have emerged showing Gruber gloating about how the law’s authors exploited Americans’ “stupidity,” the White House has distanced itself. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi even claimed: “I don’t know who he is. He didn’t help write our bill.”
But while Jonathan Gruber might not have been a familiar name until this week for many, Pelosi and the rest of the lawmakers who pushed the law certainly knew who he was in 2009 and 2010.
A look at the record shows he was in fact paid to advise the Department of Health and Human Services. And he continues to play a role in health policy elsewhere, even as his unearthed videos cause headaches for the administration, just ahead of this weekend’s Round 2 enrollment launch.

Sickening, isn't it, to see what kind of "leaders" we have in this country.

Stewart had said of Hannity, in a Rolling Stone interview, that Hannity is "probably the most loathsome dude" at Fox, and that everything Hannity says is presented in the most "devious" way possible.

Here is Hannity's response:

"Nearly 50 million Americans on food stamps, nearly 50 million in poverty, the lowest labor participation rate since 1978, and Jon's beloved president who once said George Bush's debt was 'irresponsible and unpatriotic' has almost accumulated more debt then every other President before him combined," Hannity wrote. "Do I even need to remind him about keeping our doctors, our health plans and saving money? And how is that healthcare website working out? Or Iraq, ISIS, the 'Russian reset'?"
"Jon's problem is he has his head so far up Obama's ass he cannot see clearly, he is obviously better suited to reading his joke writers' material, and making his clapping-seal audience happy," Hannity continued.
"I await another Rally to Restore Sanity with Fatwa supporter Cat Stevens!!" he said, referring to the event that Stewart and Stephen Colbert hosted in Washington, D.C., in 2010."

How Bad is Obamacare?

***So bad, Obama and his allies had to deceive even the Democrats in Congress.

For years, conservatives have been arguing that the divisiveness and anger of the last several years are exactly what happens when major social legislation is passed on a purely partisan basis. The reality, however, was much worse. The administration passed major social legislation not just by strong-arming Republicans but also by deceiving its own allies. That’s not just partisan, it’s deceitfully partisan, and as Democratic politicians survey the charred remnants of their 2009 “mandate” and polish up their CVs, they can shake their now-unemployed fists at the White House that cost them their jobs.

Hard to feel sorry for them. Sure, Obama and his architects deceived everyone, but it's their job to find out what they're voting on before they actually vote.

***As I've said many times, investigative/objective journalism is all but dead in this country.

Rich Weinstein, an investment banker and private citizen, with just average computer skills and higher than average persistence, uncovered the video of MIT professor Jonathan Gruber admitting that voter stupidity and deliberate lack of government transparency were necessary for the passage of the (Un-)Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare, in which he was involved.
This revelation raises the question: why didn't any investigative reporter with access to the right people, a basic understanding of the problems involved with the ACA, paid for persistence and – most importantly – a chance for a career-making scoop undertake the investigative part of the job and make the discovery?  And where were the fabled watchdogs – governmental and non-governmental – when they were so desperately needed?
You can bet they would have done some digging if it were the Republicans' neck on the line.

***Pelosi suggests questions about her future are sexist. Is anyone as tired as I am of the Democrats constantly refusing to admit that maybe their policies are the problem? Right, Nancy, couldn't possibly be the fact that you're as crazy as a loon.

Speaking of crazy as a loon, and dishonest as all get out: Pelosi claims she doesn't know Jonathan Gruber, the arrogant little copperhead who was the main architect for Obamacare and was caught on tape admitting that they lied to get it passed - but she cited him in 2009 when trying to get the monstrosity passed.

Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, tried to downplay Gruber’s role during a press conference on Thursday.
She claimed she doesn’t know who he is, and that he didn’t help write the law. “Let’s put him aside,” she said.
However, Gruber was involved in the process – as his newly surfaced remarks make clear – and his analysis indeed was cited by Pelosi’s office when she was House speaker in late 2009.
At the time, her office put out a “health insurance reform mythbuster” press release pointing to the work of “noted MIT health care economist Jonathan Gruber” in examining the House bill’s impact on premiums. They noted that Gruber found it “would result in lower premiums than under current law for the millions of Americans using the newly-established Health Insurance Exchange.”
Pelosi also mentioned Gruber during a press conference at the time.

Democrats don't seem to know how to tell the truth.
