Contempt for the Constitution

***Obama's stomping his foot because those mean ol' Republicans won't give him the amnesty he wants, so he's threatening to do it by executive order. Congress, you better get your butts back to Washington and stop this psycho.

President Obama announced Monday that he is shifting more immigration enforcement agents to the border and will take broader executive actions to address the millions of immigrants living in the U.S illegally, acting unilaterally with prospects for legislation dead on Capitol Hill.
From the Rose Garden, Obama lamented a “year of obstruction” from Republicans, accusing conservative leaders of resisting immigration reform to please the Tea Party.

What a crybaby. Never mind that every poll shows the VAST majority of Americans DO NOT WANT amnesty. He doesn't care about the will of the people, he cares about socializing America.

Related: 90% of immigrants skip court appearances, 135,000 will go missing. Yeah, that's the spirit. We need lots more of these people here. Salt of the earth, they are.

Ninety percent of the mostly-teen illegal immigrants flooding over the Mexico-U.S. border won't show up for their immigration court hearing, meaning at least 135,000 of the youths will simply vanish into the country this year alone, according to a key House committee chairman.
House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte, who on Wednesday held a hearing to raise national security concerns about the new wave of illegals, revealed Thursday that many of the teens are placed with relatives, including parents who are in the U.S. illegally, and then ignore court orders to appear for immigration hearings.

Say anything about it and you're "anti-immigrant" or "racist" or some other such nonsense. I'm all for LEGAL immigration. If you're here illegally, I think you should be deported immediately. Period.

***Finally, a win for the Constitution!

The government cannot require closely held corporations to insure birth control in company health plans if it violates their religious beliefs, a divided Supreme Court ruled Thursday.
The 5-to-4 decision in the “Hobby Lobby” case is a political blow to the Obama administration, which had allowed nonprofit groups to avoid direct responsibility for Obamacare’s contraception mandate but held firm against for-profit owners who complained and filed suit.

Great news. I'm so glad Hobby Lobby didn't fold.

This is a great day for religious freedom.
Image of the Hobby Lobby logoThe Supreme Court’s decision in the Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties cases is a much-anticipated and wonderful affirmation as the court process proceeds. It shows that religious freedom continues to be the lifeblood of a country founded on the inalienable rights afforded to us by our Creator.
We rejoice with the Green and Hahn families who are now free to continue serving the public, their loyal employees, and their God without having to compromise their faith.
These families’ stand for freedom benefits the many faith-based businesses faced with the same awful choice of deciding between their faith and livelihood. It also vindicates a higher principle, showing that government must tread carefully when it seeks to impose policies contrary to our most cherished rights.
Religious groups and business owners should not have to violate their faith in order to follow the law. It’s not the role of government to define what we believe or what our faith includes.
Fundamentally these cases were not about abortion or contraception: they were about whether government can require faith-based groups to violate deeply held beliefs.

One foggy night, a United States Aircraft Carrier was cruising off the coast of Newfoundland and the junior radar operator spotted a light in the gloom.  Here is a transcript of what happened next.
The radar operator worked out that a collision was likely unless the other vessel changed its course.  So he sent a radio message.
U.S. Aircraft Carrier Radar Officer:
'Please divert your course at least 7 degrees to the south to avoid a collision'.
Back came the reply: 'You must be joking, I recommend you divert your course instead'.
The U.S. Radar Officer referred the matter to his superior officer.  And reported the incident as insubordination.
As a result the Captain of the Air Craft Carrier sent a second message.  'I believe that I out rank you, and am giving you a direct order to divert your course now!!!'Lighthouse urban myth
Canadian Radio Operator:
'This is a lighthouse.  I suggest you take evasive action.'

Shredding the Race Card

***Well, I can't really say the race card is shredded because Obama and his liberal brethren keep pulling it out when they don't have an answer for his disastrous policies and what they're doing to America. One black conservative minister, Mychal Massie, is having none of it:

“In case you missed it, evil white people don’t “wike poor wittle barry (sniffle-sniffle).” Well, that’s obama’s take on it. He told the New Yorker magazine “there’s was no doubt” white racists are the reason for his falling poll numbers. Ever ready to use race to polarize us he continued saying that there were some (read most) blacks and maaaayyyybeeee “some white folks” who really, really, liked him.
I’m glad he didn’t say all blacks albeit from his comment it is clear he meant “all blacks” without saying “all blacks” because personally I don’t like him, his wife, or his policies. How insufferably self-serving of him to try to emote hostilities and more overt antipathy by playing the race-card. I’ll have to rinse my mouth out after addressing him this way but, mr. president it’s not the color of your skin that make I and others condemn you. It is your craven fecklessness and unmitigated dishonesty. It is your pernicious mendacity and your contempt for America.
I say if obama placed as much concern on the things that made America great as he does his wife’s over-the-top taxpayer funded vacation junkets/shopping sprees, his golf game, and lying to the American people perhaps his approval numbers would be better. What a disgraceful exhibition of denial for him to foment racial discord. Instead of raising America to new heights, he chose instead to raise abortion, homosexuality, failed European socialist programs, worldwide turmoil, and commonality to new heights.
As I said in an on-air interview today, “even if every voting age black person in America voted for him they wouldn’t be anywhere close to enough votes to elect him. White people cast the majority of votes to elect him.” Some leader he is. “Wittle barry sits sucking his thumb and saying boohoo, they don’t wike me.” Well barry that part is true we don’t like you. But it’s because of acts like this not because of your skin-color.” – Mychal Massie

***Lois Lerner fiasco continues:

Lois Lerner has no records of two years of missing emails and Republican claims that she’s hiding something are “silly,” her lawyer said in his first interview since the controversy around the former IRS official erupted two weeks ago.
“She doesn’t know what happened,” lawyer William Taylor III said of the 2011 computer crash that erased two years worth of Lerner’s correspondence. “It’s a little brazen to think she did this on purpose.”

"A little brazen?" Innocent people don't plead the 5th.

***The Great Pretender: Obama has no intention of deporting border-jumpers. If he can't get amnesty done through our system of checks and balances, he'll do it this way. The law means nothing to him.

Don’t be deceived. President Barack Obama has no intention to send back the latest flood of illegal aliens. He only wants you to think that he will.
With his usual clever word choice and fawning media, President Obama is getting headlines that he wants, hoping to lessen the political heat on him and fellow Democrats. His goal is to mislead Americans into thinking he will change course, get tough and start deporting the flood of minors and others who are storming across America’s southern border.

Unfortunately, many ARE deceived. How anyone can believe a word he says is beyond me.

One could argue that the revolution is already well underway, with passwords destined to go the way of the floppy disc and dial-up Internet. Already, there are multiple services that generate and store your passwords so you don't have to remember them. Beyond that, biometric technology is emerging, using thumbprints and face recognition to help us get into our accounts and our devices. Some new iPhones use the technology, for instance, as do a few retailers, whose employees log into work computers with a touch of the hand.

Still, many people cling to the password, the devil we know — even though the passwords we end up creating, the ones we CAN remember, often aren't very secure at all. Look at any list of the most common passwords making the rounds on the Internet and you'll find anything from "abc123," "letmein" and "iloveyou" to — you guessed it — use of the word "password" as a password.

Bill Lidinsky, director of security and forensics at the School of Applied Technology at the Illinois Institute of Technology, has seen it all — and often demonstrates in his college classes just how easy it is to use readily available software to figure out many passwords.

"I crack my students' passwords all the time," Lidinsky says, "sometimes in seconds."

Election Integrity

***With stories like this in the news, (well, conservative news sites, certainly not the "mainstream" media), our election system is in serious jeopardy. One of the most important issues right now, in my opinion, is the integrity of our elections. We all know of the elections that have been stolen right under our noses, such as Gregoire a few years ago in Washington, Al Franken, Gore's attempt in 2000, etc. Thad Cochran's Tea Party challenger in Mississippi has already found thousands of voting irregularities in that race and is challenging the results. This has to stop, and voter ID is a good place to start - which of course is why Democrats are so vehemently against it.

Some 6.9 million Americans are registered to vote in two or more states, according to a report from an election-watch group.
“Our nation’s voter rolls are a mess,” says Catherine Engelbrecht, True The Vote president. “Sensible approaches to roll maintenance are fought tooth and nail by radical special interests who can use the duplicity in the system to their advantage.”

***Rush Limbaugh had a caller yesterday who said she was totally walking away from politics, because she just couldn't take it any more. What Obama and the Democrats are doing to this country has her completely frustrated and feeling helpless to do anything about it. I feel her pain, and so did Rush. We all feel that way - overwhelmed, unable to believe what is happening every day, Obama's blatant lawlessness and the unwillingness of enough Republicans who will stand up to him to do any good. Rush agreed with her, it is tremendously frustrating - but as he said, the country is worth fighting for. It's either that, or roll over and play dead. As tempting as it is at times, we can't give in to that feeling.

***Amy Adams gave up her first class seat to a soldier. How refreshing - a Hollywood type with some character. Bravo, Ms. Adams.

According to ESPN host Jemele Hill, Adams gave up her first-class seat on a flight so an American soldier could sit in the classy cabin. Hill, who co-hosts “Numbers Never Lie,” tweeted about the event from her verified account.
Later, Hill told FoxNews.com, "I was on a flight from Detroit to Los Angeles...While I was in the boarding area, I noticed Ms. Adams and she was glancing at an American soldier, who was dressed in uniform. I saw her whisper something to the woman she was traveling with.
"I was upgraded to first class, where Ms. Adams was. I saw her leave her seat and then a flight attendant escorted the soldier to her seat. It was pretty obvious she'd given up her seat for him.
"I later asked a flight attendant if the soldier knew who had given up their seat for him and she told me that he did, and that Amy and the soldier met privately near the cockpit area.
"I just thought it was incredibly generous and thoughtful. I've been a big fan of hers, but now I'm an even bigger fan...

***The Charge of the Light Brigade
by Lord Alfred Tennyson

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Some one had blundered:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wondered:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre-stroke
Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not,
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came through the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!

Dirty Tricks

***This is the kind of thing Thad Cochran had to resort to in order to beat the Tea Party challenger in Mississippi. When Republicans start stooping to Democrat tactics, it's pretty much over.

The Cochran supporters’ arrangement with Bickers is especially notable, given the role of racial politicking generally and of one sketchy robo-call in particular that raised the ire of Tea Party voters as the race drew to a close. Near the end of the runoff campaign, a recording came to light — it was first reported by investigative reporter Charles Johnson – of a racially tinged call that urged voters to combat the Tea Party by casting a ballot for Cochran. It accused the Tea Party of “disrespectful treatment of the country’s first African-American president.” The Cochran campaign has denied any connection to the call, and Barbour says the call was not from the Mississippi Conservatives PAC or from Bickers. He believes, he says, that Bickers placed two automated calls to African-American households.

Doesn't matter if you paid for that particular call. You associated yourself with this crooked, race-baiting hack, so don't try to act all innocent when she acts like what she is. This makes me sick. How black people can continue to allow themselves to be lied to and deceived by people they think are on their side is beyond me.

***Recovering from meditation? Okay, this I've never heard of. I think meditation is a little weird, but just chalked it up to stuff other people did that I don't want to do, and more power to 'em if they like it - kinda like yoga. This story contends there's a dark side. Draw your own conclusions.

Set back on quiet College Hill in Providence, Rhode Island, sits a dignified, four story, 19th-century house that belongs to Dr. Willoughby Britton. Inside, it is warm, spacious, and organized. The shelves are stocked with organic foods. A solid wood dining room table seats up to 12. Plants are ubiquitous. Comfortable pillows are never far from reach. The basement—with its own bed, living space, and private bathroom—often hosts a rotating cast of yogis and meditation teachers. Britton’s own living space and office are on the second floor. The real sanctuary, however, is on the third floor, where people come from all over to rent rooms, work with Britton, and rest. But they're not there to restore themselves with meditation—they're recovering from it.
"I started having thoughts like, 'Let me take over you,' combined with confusion and tons of terror," says David, a polite, articulate 27-year-old who arrived at Britton’s Cheetah House in 2013. "I had a vision of death with a scythe and a hood, and the thought 'Kill yourself' over and over again."
Michael, 25, was a certified yoga teacher when he made his way to Cheetah House. He explains that during the course of his meditation practice his "body stopped digesting food. I had no idea what was happening." For three years he believed he was "permanently ruined" by meditation.

Entrepreneurial chocoholics are getting inventive; in fact, Mintel says the surge in chocolate sales is being driven by “outrageous” flavors, noting, “the number of chocolate products flavored with lemon has doubled over the past year.”
Mintel says there’s a growing trend in treating chocolate like wine, using similar marketing language, boasting about the “bold and fruity” flavor of some brands or the “fine and rare cocoa” used in others.
Chocolate-covered vegetables have been wildly popular in Asia, and are just taking off here in the U.S. Mintel predicts edamame covered with chocolate will be 2014’s favorite. Other favorites include chocolate-covered Pistachio nuts, peaches and chocolate, granola and muesli mixed with chocolate, or chocolate bars flavored with edible flowers (like hibiscus), a specialty of entrepreneurial chocolatier Wild Ophelia.

Media Shame

***The "coverage" of our news media regarding this president and his myriad scandals has been nothing less than shameful.

A number of smart people, among them Peter Wehner, Mark Halperin and John Hinderaker, have been pointing out the unfortunately predictable silence of the mainstream media regarding the IRS scandal — not to mention the myriad other Obama scandals that we will soon be counting on three, or is it four, hands.
The front page of Tuesday’s New York Times made no mention of the congressional hearings on the missing Lois Lerner emails and putative computer crash; the networks were a virtual silence of the not-so-lambs.  (Remember  how they obsessed on the  Christie/GW Bridge contretemps as if it were the beginning of nuclear war?)
On his Wednesday Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly went so far as to say the media silence, censorship, whatever you want to call it was subverting democracy. That’s an understatement.  It was trampling on it.
The  conventional explanation for this willful blindness cited by the above mentioned gentlemen is that the media is in the tank for the Democratic Party and, by extension, for Obama.  Well, sure. But it is far more than that. Political parties and politicians come and go.  The media doesn’t.  They may be in the tank for Obama, but much more than that they are in the tank for themselves — a whole lifestyle and world view that has been going on for decades, moral narcissism distilled to its purest essence.

It is so painfully obvious, it makes me want to smack some sense into people like some relatives I have, who claim that Hillary Clinton would make a great president. Ask them why, they can't answer. It makes me crazy. Most of the blame is theirs - information is out there if you look for it, but a big portion falls on our national media, who can't be bothered with big stories if they hurt their beloved liberal politicians.

***John Boehner is showing some mettle, intends to file a lawsuit against Barack Obama for executive overreach. Good.

“The Constitution makes it clear that a president’s job is to faithfully execute the laws; in my view, the president has not faithfully executed the laws,” Mr. Boehner told reporters. “And when there’s conflicts like this between the legislative branch and the administrative branch it’s, in my view, our responsibility to stand up for this institution in which we serve.”

To say the least.

***Rush Limbaugh - "We've lived Democrat policies for the last six years and the country is going to hell."  Yup. Next time your idiot brother-in-law sings Obama's praises, ask him what one thing, just one thing, is better in America now than it was when he took office.

We are living Democrat policies to the max.  The economy contracted 3%.  People are out of work.  A hundred million people aren't working.  We are living under Democrat policies, and the country is going to hell!  We are living six years under Democrat policies.  People have lost their health care. They have lost their jobs.  They have lost their ambition. They have lost faith in the country.  They've lost faith in themselves.  Young people are hopeless.  They're not optimistic.  They're not ambitious.  The Southern border is wide open.  We are entertaining an inflow of a further group of people that's uneducated and poor.

Democrats NEED the poor to stay in power, that's why they enact policies to KEEP them poor.

My fellow countrymen, what has happened to our great nation since my death? My heart is heavy over what I see. What has happened to the presence of God, to the sanctity of life, the family, equality of man, the values that our fellow countrymen died for so gloriously on the field of battle?
America, you have turned your back on God the Almighty, the Creator. The nation has replaced their dependence upon God and His holy principles with an independent spirit that portrays man as sufficient unto himself. Any nation that is not Godly is by nature ungodly and shall be punished. You have become a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord. IRS Corruption

***It's rampant throughout our government, but the IRS is particularly egregious because of their power over our lives.

“For understandable reasons, the IRS scandal has largely focused on the political question of whether the White House deliberately targeted its opponents. To date there’s no evidence that it did. That’s good for the president, but it may not be good for the country, because if the administration didn’t target opponents, that would mean the IRS has become corrupt all on its own. . . . The Democratic party today is, quite simply, the party of government and the natural home of the managerial class. It is no accident, as the Marxists say, that the National Treasury Employees Union, which represents the IRS, gave 94 percent of its political donations during the 2012 election cycle to Democratic candidates openly at war with the Tea Party — the same group singled out by Lois Lerner. The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents the VA, gave 97 percent of its donations to Democrats at the national level and 100 percent to Democrats at the state level.”

If that doesn't scare you, I don' t know what will.

Castro told CBN that loneliness began to take a toll on him, and being away from his family and his church took him in a direction away from God. He also admitted that he had been struggling with physical exhaustion, "It started to feel a little meaningless. Why am I doing this? To make a name for myself? To make some money? I started to really have a longing to have more God in my life," Castro said.
"I struggled to stay close to God on the road. I wanted more God in my life and as a part of that I wanted more God in my music," he continued.
"I got to this point where I realized God doesn't want me to do anything on my own. He wants me to give it all to Him and trust Him with everything. And you know it really changed everything for me to kind of let go of everything and realize that God can take care of it," Castro mirrored.

***U.S. Economy drastically shrinking. Trust me, Fox News is the only place you'll find out about this to any measurable degree.

The U.S. economy shrank at 2.9 percent annual rate in in the first quarter, a far more alarming downward pace than announced in two previous government estimates, according to the Commerce Department.
The figure is nearly three times lower than the  preliminary estimate of 1 percent released last month, and marks the worst performance for a three-month period since 2009. A still earlier initial estimate, in April, predicted growth of .1 percent for the quarter. The sluggish economy's woes have been widely attributed to an unusually cold winter, but the latest figure - the biggest difference between second and third estimates since 1976 - could show the problems are bigger than that.
The Commerce Department said its final revision reflected a weaker-than-expected pace of healthcare spending, which caused a downgrading of the consumer spending estimate. Trade was also a bigger drag on the economy than previously thought, Reuters reported.

What Would You Change?
By

When talking with people about their life, or their job, or their current situation I always ask: "What one thing would you change about your life?"

People always have an answer for what would make their life better. Before you read further,
think about what one thing you could change in your life. The one thing that would make your life better.

Okay, hold your thought.

My next question to you is: "What are you doing to make that change come true?"

So often people answer the first question with no problem. Everyone can think of the one thing that would make life better for them. But people are not so quick to answer the second question:
"What are you doing to make that change come true."

Sadly, most people take no action to change their current situation. I often use the saying: "May All Your Dreams Turn Into Goals"

Take your dream, start taking action, and before you know it your dream will be a reality. It really works!

I can speak from personal experience. I have had many dreams, which I turned into goals and now they are my reality. When I first started setting goals I never imagined that they would have such an impact on my life. It's awesome to have a dream, and then to see that dream come true.

The dreams I only thought about, the ones I took no action on, well they are still dreams.

But the ones that I took action on, they are now a reality. I have accomplished things in my life that I never realized I had the potential to achieve.

YOU also have the potential!

Downsizing NOW?

***Yep, we're downsizing our nuclear arsenal. Hey, there's nothing big going on in the world, right? This is insane.

The United States this week finished altering its ground-based, long-range nuclear missiles to each carry just one warhead, the Great Falls Tribune reports.
Crews carried out the final modification of an intercontinental ballistic missile at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, the newspaper reported on Wednesday. The service implemented the alterations under a nuclear-arms pact with Russia.
The New START strategic arms-control treaty called for the change to the nation's Minuteman 3 ICBMs, which were previously able to carry three "Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicles." The United States maintains roughly 450 of the missiles, deployed at the Montana facility and at bases in North Dakota and Wyoming.
And of course we can count on Russia to do the same...right? They've always honored their treaties...right?

***We are used to Democrats race-baiting, but it's pathetic and sad when Republicans do it.

The final days of the Mississippi runoff for United States Senate has taken a turn to the bizarre. Leftist academics and their “journolist” friends in the media are warning that Mississippi is about to return to 1963, where vigilante racists lurk about trying to scare away blacks from the ballot box.
We’ve seen the scare tactics before. Usually the effort to stoke up a racially paranoid base swirls around voter ID laws. Now, it swirls around laws ensuring election transparency.
I am helping to manage a poll-observer program across Mississippi in Tuesday’s runoff election between challenger Chris McDaniel and incumbent Thad Cochran. Using the Mississippi election laws designed to bring transparency to the election process and to record any illegal behavior, trained observers will be watching the polls.
Listening to the New York Times, you would think Jim Crow was back. They’re feeding the same false narrative: the Tea Party supporters of Chris McDaniel are bucktooth racists that will break the law to stop minorities from raiding the Republican primary to help Thad Cochran. The election observer program by conservatives, the Times reports,  “evokes memories of the civil rights struggles of the state’s past.”

***Awesome tech you can't buy yet.

There is some really interesting stuff here! Check it out. Here's an example:

Steak Locker — Dry-aging meat locker

If you’ve never experienced the sheer deliciousness of dry-aged beef, you’re missing out on life. It’s amazing — if a cut of beef is stored in the right environment, time and chemistry will eventually make it more delicious than it was originally. Over the course of a week or two, the enzymes inside of the meat will slowly begin to break down the tough connective tissues between muscle fibers, and excess moisture will gradually dissipate. The end result is a steak that’s more tender and flavorful. It used to be that this process required restaurant-grade equipment to pull off, but thanks to Steak Locker, you’ll soon be able to prepare delicious dry-aged beef in the comfort of your own home. The device is essentially a scaled-down version of the professional climate-controlled meat lockers you’d find in an upscale steakhouse — but it’s also a bit more high-tech. Using an array of sensors that communicate with your smartphone or tablet, the locker allows you to remotely monitor and adjust the temperature and humidity of the cabinet from anywhere in the world, and helps you fine-tune your settings to achieve the right flavor profile.

***Family breaks GoFundMe donation record with campaign to save daughter.

In July 2013, 4-year-old Eliza O'Neill was diagnosed with Sanfilippo syndrome, a fatal genetic metabolic disease, the Deseret News reported several months ago. Her only hope lay in a drug that had not yet been tested on humans. Four months after the diagnosis, her parents, Glenn and Cara, started a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the $2.5 million needed to fund the clinical trial scheduled for the end of the year, according to their GoFundMe page.
With a month to go until the end of the fundraiser, the O'Neills have raised $956,834 in donations — the largest amount ever raised by a GoFundMe campaign.
The previous record was $808,845 that was raised for Jeff Bauman, a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing, according to Good Morning America. GoFundMe has raised more than $310 million for various personal causes, as those in need of financial support reach out to strangers via the Internet.

The Builders

-- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

All are architects of Fate,
Working in these wall of Time;
Some with massive deeds and great,
Some with ornaments of rhyme.

Nothing useless is, or low;
Each thing in its place is best;
And what seems but idle show
Strengthens and supports the rest.

For the structure that we raise,
Time is with materials filled;
Our todays and yesterdays
Are the blocks with which we build.

Truly shape and fashion these;
Leave no yawning gaps between;
Think not, because no man sees,
Such things will remain unseen.

In the elder days of Art,
Builders wrought with greatest care
Each minute and unseen part;
For the gods see everywhere.

Let us do our work as well,
Both the unseen and the seen;
Make the house where gods may dwell
Beautiful, entire, and clean.

Else our lives are incomplete,
Standing in these walls of Time,
Broken stairways, where the feet
Stumble, as they seek to climb.

Build today, then, strong and sure,
With a firm and ample base;
And ascending and secure
Shall tomorrow find its place.

Thus alone can we attain
To those turrets, where the eye
Sees the world as one vast plain,
And one boundless reach of sky.

Sandwiched

***Sometimes I'm at a loss as to what to name my posts each day. Today, my title comes from the fact that I'm blogging in between clients...sandwiched, if you will.

Okay, moving right along...

***From "Greater" from the CD "Welcome to the New"  by MercyMe. Honestly, you gotta get this CD. It's all about the message of grace - easily my all time favorite CD up to this point.

There are days I lose the battle
Grace says that it doesn't matter
'Cause the Cross already won the war.

I am learning to run freely
Understanding just how He sees me
And it makes me love Him more and more

He's greater!

And I hear a voice and it calls me redeemed
When others say I'll never be enough
And greater is the One living inside of me
Than he who is living in the world.

***Check out these trademarks that are apparently less offensive than "Redskins."

Here are a few:

Figgas over Niggas: This pending trademark seeks to cover a line of “Apparel for dancers, namely, tee shirts, sweatshirts, pants, leggings, shorts and jackets.” “Niggas,” of course, is a slang version of the word “nigger,” a term considered highly offensive towards black Americans.
Kraut Kap: Another recently-filed trademark, this one for a line of plastic lids. “Kraut” was made famous in World War II as a derogatory term for opposing German soldiers, as well as Germans in general.
Dago Swagg: A label created for a line of clothing. ”Dago” is a corruption of the common name Diego, and is used in English-speaking countries as an offensive term for those of Italian descent, and occasionally people from other Mediterranean countries as well.

Gettin' in Gear

***Wow, this morning's yard sale/Amish store excursion was a long one! We're now taking one of my aunts with us, and another aunt who doesn't go usually wants us to pick stuff up for her, so it's turning into a morning of errands, too. I don't mind doing things for them, just kinda puts a crimp in my work schedule. Oh well, they're more important.

***The IRS: Never apologize, never explain.

It is one thing to say “Never apologize, never explain” as an adjunct or symptom of cultural self-confidence, quite another in an atmosphere of duplicity, evasion, or brazen contempt. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen presented a breathtaking example of the latter when he blithely admitted that the IRS had simply “recycled,” I.e., tossed out, physically destroyed, Lois Lerner’s malfunctioning hard drive that (he claimed) was unrecoverable. “I don’t think an apology is owed,” he told a stunned House Ways and Means Committee.

His smug arrogance made me want to smack him.

***Scott Walker: "I will not back down."  Good for him. Liberal Democrats have lost in court, but that doesn't matter. They're taking their story to the media, who are more than glad to continue their leftist hackery.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, accused in court documents of collusion with conservative groups to illegally coordinate fundraising, fought back Friday with a defiant editorial in the state’s largest newspaper, blasting prosecutors’ "theories" as "slander" and vowing, "I will not back down."

"It is old news that has already been discounted by two judges," Walker wrote in the opinion piece for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.  "No charges. No case."

Quoting a federal judge, Walker said prosecutors "are now seeking refuge in the court of public opinion, having lost in this court on the law."

"Abraham Lincoln once said, 'Truth is generally the best vindication against slander,'" Walker wrote. "The truth on the widely covered 'John Doe' [case] is that two judges, one state and one federal, reviewed the accusations of partisans within a Democrat district attorney's office and determined their theories have no merit or basis in law."

"Each of these judges explicitly issued judicial orders that these partisan prosecutors must end their investigation immediately," Walker said, adding he would restate "the truths … over and over again to fight the slander directed at me and our campaign by my political opponents."

We Don't Need No Stinkin' Facts!

***You've probably heard about the "criminal activity" Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has allegedly been part of. Many "news" outlets have ran with headlines such as "Walker accused of criminal activity" and other vague but accusatory slurs. What they fail to mention is that these lawsuits brought on by partisan hack prosecutors have ALL been thrown out of court by federal judges. Not just once, but three times.

Immediately, national news outlets and liberal activists ran with the story, nearly breaking the Internet in the process. “Prosecutors: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker Part Of 'Criminal Scheme'” read the Huffington Post.  Politico ran with a similar story, adding that “Walker has denied wrongdoing, and no charges have been filed.” Undeterred by facts, Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas tweeted, “As feds close in on Scott Walker, just note: none of this would be happening without the recall elections. #DeferredVictory”
However, missing from all these accounts was one small fact:  Shortly after prosecutors made the “criminal scheme” charge, it was rejected by the presiding judge, Gregory Peterson.  On Dec. 9, 2013, prosecutor Francis Schmitz filed a motion in opposition to quashing subpoenas in the case in which he made the “criminal scheme” allegation.  On Jan. 10, 2014, Peterson threw out Schmitz’s motion, saying that it “failed to show probable cause that a crime had been committed.”
In fact, Peterson was only the first judge to rule against prosecutors.  Last month, ruling on a lawsuit brought by the defendants, federal Judge Rudolph Randa shut down the entire investigation, issuing a sternly worded rebuke to prosecutors pursing Walker and his allies.  So despite all the celebrating liberal groups were doing with the release of the documents on Thursday, few of them knew that the case is currently dead.

This is how the Left does things. Scott Walker has done GREAT things for Wisconsin and its citizens, but he commits the unforgivable crime of being conservative, so that makes him fair game. These people are liars, despicable hacks, who project their dishonesty onto others in order to make themselves feel superior, I guess. They are not interested in the truth. I'm glad they've been shot down, but don't for a minute think they'll shut up. No, they'll just make something else up and run with it.

“They don’t care.”
As Obama administration officials pivot like haywire jewelry-box ballerinas to divert attention away from the nationwide Veterans Affairs disgrace, a reader who has been fighting the system urged me to urge Capitol Hill and the American public to stay focused.
This former Special Forces soldier and medic served his country for 25 years. He worked in the health care field managing military field medical clinics. “I know how health care is supposed to run, even in austere or low-budget environments,” he says. And in his nightmarish, ongoing experience, the VA is an epic, deadly, monstrous failure. He minces no words: “They’re getting billions of dollars, and they treat veterans like s-t. There’s no accountability, no buy-in, among civilian unionized employees. We mean nothing to them. It’s like going to the DMV for your health care.”

Nothing about this administration is right or good. Absolutely nothing.

***From Commentary:

“A fair-minded reading of the facts, I think, shows that when Mr. Obama was sworn in, the Iraq war had more or less been won. Things were fragile to be sure. But the errors that were made during the occupation of Iraq following the fall of Saddam, which were extremely costly, were corrected in 2007. . . . By the time the surge ended in 2008, violence in Iraq had dropped to the lowest level since the first year of the war. Sectarian killings had dropped by 95 percent. By 2009, U.S. combat deaths were extremely rare. (In December of that year there were no American combat deaths in Iraq.) Iraq was on the mend. Even Barack Obama, who opposed the surge every step of the way, conceded in September 2008 that it had succeeded in reducing violence ‘beyond our wildest dreams.’” Joe Biden was calling it a “great achievement” for the Obama/Biden Administration in 2010. But then Obama screwed up in Libya and, especially, Syria and it all went to hell.

Fair assessment, in my opinion.

Calm

***There is so much going on right now in the world, and especially in my country, that infuriates me. The last thing I need right now is more stress! But there I go, reading the news and getting more irked by the minute.  Why is it that the best thing we could do in order to calm down is the last thing we think of?

From Daily Inspirations:

Matthew 8:26-27  And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.  But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Your God is a God of peace. Your Holy Spirit is a spirit bringing peace. Jesus, the Son of God who died such a violent death for you on the Cross, is your Christ who brings you inner peace and calm. In the middle of your storms in life, Christ calls you to worship Him. In the middle of your storms, as you worship Him, Christ brings you calm not found in any other way. As you look up and see Christ's smiling face, you can see the high waves grow calm at His command. If you would just pray and talk to Him, He will answer and give you peace. Your Savior calmed the waters and He will quiet the storm in your life. He will end your turmoil and strife. Christ has command over the seas and if you let Him, He will have command over the storms in your life. Christ has afforded you salvation. In your salvation, you find His peace. In Him, you find a quiet confidence and strength. He will, by His love and the power of His spirit, lift you up over your troubled waters. Be still and know He is with you. Be still and know He is truly your God.

Poppycock and Codswallop

***The IRS has "lost" even MORE emails regarding the targeting of conservative groups. This is outrageous and completely bogus.

It’s not just Lois Lerner’s e-mails. The Internal Revenue Service says it can’t produce e-mails from six more employees involved in the targeting of conservative groups, according to two Republicans investigating the scandal.
The IRS told Ways and Means chairman Dave Camp and subcommittee chairman Charles Boustany that computer crashes resulted in additional lost e-mails, including from Nikole Flax, the chief of staff to former IRS commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired in the wake of the targeting scandal.
Yeah, and these folks are gonna be in charge of enforcing Obamacare. Doesn't that give you a warm and fuzzy feeling?
