*#&@($)#*@!!!

***That's how I'm feeling after getting our tax returns from our accountant. We owe just about double what we did last year. Don't think for a moment that our income doubled. Over $10,000 just for self employment tax? Really? Because we generate our own income and employ two people? Anyone in this country who dares to be self sufficient is punished. No wonder so many self employed business owners give up. We have a target on our backs, while they make it easy for people on welfare to use their EBT cards at strip joints and pot houses. In case you can't tell, I'm furious and sick at heart at the same time.

***Another gem from Victor Davis Hanson:

There is a great sickness in California, home of the greatest number of American billionaires and poor people, land of the highest taxes and about the worst schools and roads in the nation. The illness is a new secular religion far more zealous and intolerant than the pre-Reformation zealotry of the Church. Modern elite liberalism is based on the simple creed that one’s affluence and education, one’s coolness and zip code, should shield him from the consequences of one’s bankrupt thoughts that he inflicts on others. We are a state run by dead souls who square the circle of their own privilege, who seek meaning in rather selfish lives, always at someone else’s expense.
It is that simple — that pernicious.

Read the whole thing, it's a good one.

***The Obama Administration released 68,000 illegal alien criminals last year.

President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security caught then released 68,000 aliens who had previously been convicted of a crime, a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies shows.

The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. “The criminal alien releases typically occur without formal notice to local law enforcement agencies and victims,” CIS’s Jessica Vaughan, the report’s author, added.

Anyone who is a victim of a crime by any of these thugs should sue Obama and his administration. This is a travesty, but it's what we've come to expect from Obama.

***From Joyce Meyer Ministries. Not a big fan of hers, but this was something I needed today, plus I'm trying to keep in mind Pastor James' sermon yesterday regarding the reminders in Colossians to keep our minds on good, positive things. I'm really having trouble with that today.

A prayer for peace: God, You know everything I'm dealing with and I'm thankful for that. I just need to feel the power of Your presence. Lord, help me take my focus off my circumstances and put it right on You. Take my worry, frustration and fear, and give me the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help me see things from Your point of view. You're not intimidated by anything. You have complete control over everything. No matter what happens today, I know You'll give me the grace to get through it in victory. Even now I am filled with peace and joy because Your presence is with me. Lord, I thank You for Your peace and I pray that You would use me as a witness of Your Word. Amen

***Seven hard truths liberals just don't want to hear. They don't want to hear ANY truth, apparently.

Hard Truth Number 1: If you are a liberal who really believes that your liberal heroes actually believe in liberalism, you are a sucker and a fool. Maybe even foolish enough to let your daughter take a drive with one across a bridge.

Hard Truth Number 2 concerns the minimum wage and the delusion that labor should be valued not between those who provide it and those who pay for it, but by you based upon your own subjective notion of “fairness.” The hard truth is that you are worth precisely what an employer will pay for you, and nothing more.
Take it from someone who employs a bunch of people – if I have to pay more for you at the unskilled bottom of the ladder, assuming I don’t cut low-end positions, that money is coming out of everyone else’s raises. Yeah, you warm, wonderful, caring, and compassionate paternalists supporting raising the minimum wage are going to pay for it, because I’m sure as hell not.

***“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the people discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that democracy always collapses over a loose fiscal policy--to be followed by a dictatorship.”

Coward-in-Chief

***Obama refuses to raise human rights issues with the Saudis. Of course he does. They're his buds.

President Obama refused to raise human rights issues during his meeting Friday with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, despite urging from a bipartisan group of lawmakers and assurances from the White House that Obama "raises our commitment to human rights" on all his trips.
“Saudi Arabia's human rights record is abysmal at best and its mistreatment of women is systemic, unthinkable and cruel," said Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., who -- along with Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Rep. James McGovern, D-Mass., and Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., -- wrote a letter to Obama urging him to pressure Saudi Arabia about human rights abuses that take place in the country. "When President Obama meets with King Abdullah, he must speak out against intolerance and urge specific reforms to bring the country closer to the rest of the free world.”

***Well, that's a relief. Democrat Senator says, "There's no such thing as Obamacare." Don't we all wish.

"Two points if I may, sir," says Fox host Chris Wallace. "One, then why is Harry Reid saying he's not going to allow a vote on the fixes? And, two, speak directly and briefly, becase we're about to run out of time, to Senator Barrasso's comment that a lot of doctors, a lot of hospitals are being excluded by what Obamacare is offering."
"Now, now that's a big -- There is no such thing as Obamacare. You can't sign up for Obamacare. You sign up for an Anthem policy or an Aetna policy or a WellPoint policy. It's private insurance," said King.

The overreaching law is Obamacare, you twit.

***Still not a trace of missing Malaysia jet.  What those families must be going through.

***"Cooking the books." Senator says real Obamacare numbers are being buried. Of course they are, and the press will have no curiosity about the issue whatsoever.

A Republican senator said on Sunday that the lack of details about enrollment numbers suggests the Obama administration has “cooked the books.”
Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., made his comments just hours before the Monday deadline to enroll and was skeptical of the administration’s most recent enrollment figure of 6 million Americans.
“I don't think it means anything,” he told “Fox News Sunday.” “They are cooking the books on this.”
Though the enrollment number now appears just a million shy of the administration’s goal of 7 million by the March 31 deadline, Barrasso said Americans who save switched to ObamaCare from insurance deemed sub-standard under the Affordable Care Act still don’t know whether they can keep their same doctors. And they don’t know whether their premiums will indeed be more affordable.

More smoke & mirrors from this "transparent" administration.

***Someone in Hollywood gets it!

Ellen must have been nearly wetting her pants when Ashton Kutcher used his appearance on Wednesday’s episode of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ to talk about American’s entitlement mentality and the celebrity propaganda machine.
Ashton wowed the world when he made an inspiring speech at the Teen Choice Awards advising people to work hard instead of seeking fame and fortune.
His appearance on Ellen elaborates on that speech and sheds light on why he decided to take a moment to be brutally honest.
Kutcher called out the propaganda machine around fame and celebrity that makes our youth want to be well-known, famous, and rich instead of actually creating something.
“All of that’s kind of crap,” said Kutcher, “working hard and being generous and thoughtful and smart is a path to a better life.”
He also said he has heard many American’s say they want to be famous and would not be caught dead working a typical job and that is beneath them. In response Kutcher said, “I think the only thing that can be below you is to not have a job”

***Wow...and I thought my office looked bad.

A Dallas house was so jammed with clutter that it took two days before the homeowner's body was finally discovered amid the debris, authorities said Friday.
Only after city officials brought in a contractor to remove piles of debris from the home did cadaver dogs help crews in protective suits locate the 67-year-old man Thursday.
At one point during the search, emergency workers who had looked through multiple piles of clutter without finding the man cut holes in the roof to gain access through the attic. The debris reached to the ceiling in some areas.

***John Bolton: American foreign policy defined by weakness. That's what happens when you elect an empty suit.

President Obama's inability to stop Russia's annexation of Crimea from Ukraine is just the latest example of a failing foreign policy, says John Bolton, the former United States ambassador to the United Nations under George W. Bush.

Obama said in a speech Wednesday at the European Union that the Ukraine crisis was not the start of another Cold War, and that "Russia leads no bloc of nations."

"You know in Moscow they must listen to that and simply shake their heads, and not just in Moscow, in Beijing, in Tehran, in Pyongyang and in terrorist camps all around the world," Bolton, currently senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

What is also unsettling are the lengths to which his liberal sycophants will go to to rationalize his weakness and ineptness.

***I Dream of Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair. C'mon, you know you've sung this before...
by Stephen Foster

I dream of Jeanie with the light brown hair,
Borne, like a vapor, on the summer air;
I see her tripping where the bright streams play,
Happy as the daisies that dance on her way.

Many were the wild notes her merry voice would pour,
Many were the blithe birds that warbled them o'er:
Oh! I dream of Jeanie with the light brown hair,
Floating, like a vapor, on the soft summer air.

I long for Jeanie with the daydawn smile,
Radiant in gladness, warm with winning guile;
I hear her melodies, like joys gone by,
Sighing round my heart o'er the fond hopes that die:

Sighing like the night wind and sobbing like the rain,
Wailing for the lost one that comes not again:
Oh! I long for Jeanie, and my heart bows low,
Never more to find her where the bright waters flow.

I sigh for Jeanie, but her light form strayed
Far from the fond hearts round her native glade;
Her smiles have vanished and her sweet songs flown,
Flitting like the dreams that have cheered us and gone.

Now the nodding wild flowers may wither on the shore
While her gentle fingers will cull them no more:
Oh! I sigh for Jeanie with the light brown hair,
Floating, like a vapor, on the soft summer air.

Life After Marriage

Daniel and Jessica, young couple, got married and went happily on their honeymoon. When they got back, Jessica immediately 'phoned her mother and her mother obviously asked, 'How was the honeymoon, dearest?'
'Oh, Ma,' she replied, 'the honeymoon was wonderful. So romantic...'Funny Clean Jokes
Then Jessica burst out crying. 'But, Ma, as soon as we returned home Daniel started using the most ghastly language... saying things I've never heard before! I mean, all these awful 4-letter words! You've got to come get me and take me home.... Please Ma.'
'Calm down, Jessica!,' said her mother, 'Tell me, what could be so awful? What 4-letter words?'
Still sobbing, Jessica whispered, 'Oh, Ma...words like dust, wash, cook, and iron.'

Deep in the Red

***Obamacare is a  complete and utter failure, but liberals just won't admit it. As of now, taxpayers are in the hole for $1.5 trillion - and the current administration DOES NOT CARE. They are gonna hang on to this behemoth come hell or high water.
“What the hell is this, a joke?” Speaker of the House John Boehner said in reaction to news this week that yet another “deadline” in the Affordable Care Act had been unilaterally delayed by the Obama administration. Unfortunately, the answer to that question is yes, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that the joke is on the American taxpayer.
Late Tuesday, the Department of Health and Human Services – which has taken to bragging about “enrollment” numbers that fall millions short of their original goals – announced that the March 31st deadline for open enrollment had become more of a guideline.
For those who could not navigate the troublesome Healthcare.gov web portal in time to meet the cutoff date for accessing approved plans, HHS would now keep the portal open and plans available for purchase, as long as users attested to the fact that they were “in line” for processing before the deadline. Since the announcement came almost a week before the deadline, that either suggests that it typically takes longer than that to complete an application, or that the website is more popular than a Lady Gaga concert.

I just got up, figured I might as well be productive if I'm gonna be awake.  I took about a 15 minute nap, but my mind just keeps buzzing about what I should be doing, so I decided to blog real quick, then get back to it.

***Well see, Harry Reid has the answer. The problem with Obamacare is we're just too stupid to use the Internet. Thank you, Nevada, for sending this idiot back to the Senate. What is wrong with you people? Don't you know a sniveling weasel when you see one?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said the fault of struggling to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges didn’t lie with the faulty website, but with the people who weren’t “educated on how to use the Internet.”
Explaining the reasoning behind the latest Obamacare delay, Reid said too many people just didn’t know to use their computer properly and needed more time. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the well-documented failings of the website that have embarrassed the White House for months.

A pox on the uninformed Democrat voters who ignore crap like this.

Ever feel like no matter how hard you- and possibly your spouse- work, you never seem to get your head above water financially? You know you need to save for retirement but can't because there’s not much left over after you pay your expenses each month. And, no, you don’t splurge on choca-mocha soy lattes every day or have a shoe-buying addiction.
Well, maybe it’s not your spending habits at all.
Maybe it’s because of where you live.
WalletHub.com, a website that provides financial tools for consumers and small business owners, compared the complex and sometimes bizarre array of state and local taxes that residents face across the country. One surprising conclusion: politics matter. If you live in a state that tends to vote “Democrat” in national elections, on average, your total state and local tax bill will be more than one-third higher than someone who lives in a Republican-leaning state.

Conveying Weakness

***If you have heard or read any of Obama's statements regarding Russia, or any foreign situation, for that matter, you must recognize his cringeworthy weakness. He is an embarrassment to our country, and to manhood in general.

You have to wonder just how weak Russia is, in Obama’s calculation. Is it so weak that it will invade the rest of Ukraine? Moldova? Estonia? Latvia? Maybe!
Obama didn’t have time to flesh out his thoughts into full doctrinal form. Is getting taken over by Russia a sign of strength? Does he stand in admiration of Crimea for being taken over, and of Ukraine for standing down? Their forbearance reflects strength.
Obama’s deep thoughts serve a useful purpose. It’s time to think seriously about weakness. Weakness takes many forms. Weakness doesn’t get much weaker than this.

Weakness emboldens our enemies, and Obama oozes it.

Bure has spoken publicly before about the importance of her faith in her life. She recently made headlines when she admitted in her latest book to taking a “submissive” role in her 18-year marriage to retired pro hockey player Val Bure.

Elections Have Consequences

***Americans say U.S. is in decline, and it's bad for the world. No doubt about it.

Is the United States, the world's lone superpower, starting to fade, losing its way, its influence and its luster?
It's an issue that's gaining traction and perhaps starting to touch the American soul, with the U.S. retreat on the world stage a possible issue in this year's mid-term elections, according to a recent article in the Washington Post.
Our polling shows that Americans do feel the glory is fading and that the country has been in decline for about a decade now. In this month's IBD/TIPP Poll, nearly two-thirds (65%) think America's global influence is on the wane. And the sentiment is broad, with 53% of Democrats sharing this view, 77% of Republicans and 68% of Independents.

Obama  projects weakness, he oozes it. There is absolutely no strength of character, no trustworthiness, nothing. The man is an empty suit, and the world knows it.

More here.

Going along with the elections have consequences statement, it's obvious the gap between conservatives and liberals in the Court.

Justice Elena Kagan, one of the liberals, told Clement that if the court granted the challengers an exemption from the mandate, a wide swath of other laws from Social Security to immunization health coverage would face lawsuits.
"You would see religious objectors coming out of the woodwork," Kagan said.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, like Kagan an Obama appointee to the court, doubted whether for-profit corporations should be able to bring religious-freedom claims.
"Isn't that really the answer, that we've never before considered a for-profit corporation as exercising religion?" Sotomayor asked Clement.
Verrilli faced the opposite argument from Justice Samuel Alito, a conservative who pressed the lawyer, asking: "What is it about the for-profit corporation that is inconsistent with the free-exercise clause?" The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees a right to freely exercise religion.
They are supposed to interpret the Constitution, not try to make it say what they want it to. This is what you get when a far left Socialists appoints judges to the Court. You get activists, not judges.

Realities about climate models are much more prosaic. They don’t and can’t work because data, knowledge of atmospheric, oceanographic, and extraterrestrial mechanisms, and computer capacity are all totally inadequate. Computer climate models are a waste of time and money.
Inadequacies are confirmed by the complete failure of all forecasts, predictions, projections, prognostications, or whatever they call them. It is one thing to waste time and money playing with climate models in a laboratory, where they don’t meet minimum scientific standards, it is another to use their results as the basis for public policies where the economic and social ramifications are devastating. Equally disturbing and unconscionable is the silence of scientists involved in the IPCC who know the vast difference between the scientific limitations and uncertainties and the certainties produced in the Summary for Policymakers (SPM).

***30 things to stop doing to yourself. There are some good ones in here.

#1. Stop spending time with the wrong people. – Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.  If someone wants you in their life, they’ll make room for you.  You shouldn’t have to fight for a spot.  Never, ever insist yourself to someone who continuously overlooks your worth.  And remember, it’s not the people that stand by your side when you’re at your best, but the ones who stand beside you when you’re at your worst that are your true friends.

#2. Stop running from your problems. – Face them head on.  No, it won’t be easy.  There is no person in the world capable of flawlessly handling every punch thrown at them.  We aren’t supposed to be able to instantly solve problems.  That’s not how we’re made.  In fact, we’re made to get upset, sad, hurt, stumble and fall.  Because that’s the whole purpose of living – to face problems, learn, adapt, and solve them over the course of time.  This is what ultimately molds us into the person we become.

Every one of us has some good days and some bad days. Not one day is exactly the same as the last except for some rather usual routines. But, for example, one never knows what they will be confronted with on their way to work, at work, or when they arrive home. If you are in a relationship of any kind where someone lives with you be that a spouse, friend, co-habitation, children or elderly parents, there will always be something that you will need to do with.

Every Life Bears Issues
As we go through each of these days, some of our past issues will never be dealt with completely - there will be issues unresolved, or problems yet to be resolved. And, with each of these followers of life, there may be mounting levels of stress and anxiety compounded by new things to deal with.

What We All Can Use
There may be times when everything seems to pile up all at once and all demanding specific and dedicated action - but action where we know we cannot deliver with the same level of awareness, or energy. These are times, when we all need to take a little time out - like a time out for misbehaving children, we need a time out. So, what do you do to accomplish a time out that is effective and re-energizing?
Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Culture of Corruption

***The Democrats, corrupt? Well, what a surprise. Philly DA blows the whistle on Pennsylvania's state AG.

Prosecutors almost never go to war against each other. But in Pennsylvania, Democratic attorney general Kathleen Kane is being brutally criticized by Seth Williams, Philadelphia’s district attorney and a fellow Democrat. Williams is upset that last year one of Kane’s first acts in office was to decline to prosecute four Philadelphia state legislators and other government officials. In a sting operation, all had been caught accepting cash or Tiffany jewelry in exchange for votes or favors. Kane, who is white, has defended herself, saying that the investigation was badly managed and tainted by racism. She claims the criticism comes from what she calls the “Good Ol’ Boys Club.” Williams, who is African American, has shot back: “I have seen racism. I know what it looks like. This isn’t it.”

Glenn Reynolds has it right:  "That’s the old racism. The new racism is anything that might hurt a Democrat politically."

Last week Al Sharpton embraced convicted vote fraudster Melowese Richardson at a “voting rights” rally in Cincinnati.  The United States Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done nothing to Melowese Richardson 410 days after she admitted on camera that she committed multiple federal felonies by voting six times for President Obama’s reelection.

Federal law makes it a felony to vote more than once for President.  In fact, 42 U.S.C. Section 1973i(e) subjects Richardson to twenty-five years in federal prison for her six votes for Obama.
The lack of DOJ action against an unrepentant federal vote fraudster combined with Richardson’s lionization by Sharpton and the organization that sponsored the rally demonstrates how the Justice Department is facilitating a culture of brazen criminality on the eve of the 2014 midterm elections.  The failure to indict Richardson is the latest example of Holder’s department excusing lawlessness in federal elections and abandoning law abiding Americans.

I have to wonder about the character and honesty of anyone who calls themselves a Democrat these days.

Listen
with the night falling we are saying thank you
we are stopping on the bridges to bow from the railings
we are running out of the glass rooms
with our mouths full of food to look at the sky
and say thank you
we are standing by the water thanking it
smiling by the windows looking out
in our directions

back from a series of hospitals back from a mugging
after funerals we are saying thank you
after the news of the dead
whether or not we knew them we are saying thank you

over telephones we are saying thank you
in doorways and in the backs of cars and in elevators
remembering wars and the police at the door
and the beatings on stairs we are saying thank you
in the banks we are saying thank you
in the faces of the officials and the rich
and of all who will never change
we go on saying thank you thank you

with the animals dying around us
our lost feelings we are saying thank you
with the forests falling faster than the minutes
of our lives we are saying thank you
with the words going out like cells of a brain
with the cities growing over us
we are saying thank you faster and faster
with nobody listening we are saying thank you
we are saying thank you and waving
dark though it is
