***Gold medalist Scott Hamilton and his wife adopt two Haitian children. He's my all-time favorite skater - such fun to watch!
Gold-medal-winning Olympian Scott Hamilton and his wife, Tracie, recently doubled the number of children in their family. The couple, who already have two biological children, adopted a brother and sister from Haiti, reports The Today Show.
The Hamiltons first learned of Evelyne, 11, and Jean Paul, 13, two years ago in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit the island nation through Tracie’s volunteer work. Tracie quickly fell in love with the pair after visiting one particular Hatian orphanage.
***This is fascinating. A Paul Revere era time capsule.
Another centuries-old time capsule is currently being unearthed, this time at the new State House, by a Museum of Fine Arts Conservator. According to The Boston Globe, four coins fell from a box found in a cornerstone of the building this morning as it was liberated from the block.
The 219-year-old capsule— a green box believed to contain Revere-era items— was concealed by Governor Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and William Scollay when the building was constructed in 1795. The reveal comes less than two months after historians discovered a time capsule inside the lion statue atop Old State House when it was taken down for cleaning.
Can't wait to see what's in there.
