JV Administration

***James Foley's mother "appalled by US government's handling of case." Well, we may be appalled, but we certainly aren't surprised.

The mother of James Foley -- an American journalist beheaded by ISIS militants -- said she is "embarrassed and appalled" by how the U.S. government dealt with her son's case, telling CNN that officials even suggested family members could be charged if they raised ransom to free him.
"I think our efforts to get Jim freed were an annoyance" to the U.S. government, Diane Foley told CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview that aired Thursday. "It didn't seem to be in (U.S.) strategic interest, if you will."
Officials told Foley family members "not go to the media," and that the "government would not exchange prisoners," or carry out "military action" to try to rescue her son, according to Diane Foley.
"Jim was killed in the most horrific way. He was sacrificed because of just a lack of coordination, lack of communication, lack of prioritization," Diane Foley said. "As a family, we had to find our way through this on our own."

She added that the family was told many times that raising ransom "was illegal (and) we might be prosecuted."
"We were just told to trust that he would be freed somehow, miraculously," Foley's mother told CNN. "And he wasn't, was he?"

This is pathetic. This damnable administration abandoned him, the same way they're abandoning our Marine in Mexico. It's hard to believe there are still people in this country who support this poor excuse for a president. That takes a special kind of stupid.

***Anti-war crowd stunningly silent now. That's because liberals are leftist hypocrites and political hacks with no principle and no character.

I could have sworn we were going to war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
But the president, a well-known theologian, has informed us that despite what the Muslims of ISIS say, the Islamic State “is not Islamic.” So I guess we’re in a war against SIS — the State of Iraq and Syria. But it still is a war, isn’t it, Mr. Secretary Kerry?
“I think that’s the wrong terminology,” he sniffed yesterday. “What we are engaging in is a very significant counterterrorism operation.”
Does that make it … a police action? Will we have to destroy the village in order to save it?
It’s all very confusing. When George W. Bush considered invading Iraq without a declaration of war, the Democrats wanted to try him for war crimes in The Hague. When Obama does the same thing ... crickets.
Which raises another question: Where exactly is the anti-war movement?
Have you see a single “No Blood for Oil” sign in Cambridge?
To paraphrase the John Kerry of 2004: “Can I get me a candlelight vigil here?”

***Poll: Women, young turning against Obama. Well that's nice and all, but a few years too late. We can hope it translates into conservative victories in future elections, though. It's gonna be a long, hard road back to the greatness America is capable of.
