Again With the Race Thing...

***The race police are ruining our military. Now they're worried that there are "too many white officers."

U.S. Army sociologists are worried that a lack of black officers leading its combat troops will have detrimental effect on minorities and lead to fewer black officers in top leadership posts.
“The issue exists. The leadership is aware of it,” Brig. Gen. Ronald Lewis toldUSA Today on Thursday. “The leadership does have an action plan in place. And it’s complicated.”
Here's an idea. Stop worrying about their race. That should have absolutely nothing to do with whether a soldier moves up. His/her qualifications are all that matter. The real racists are the ones who can't get race off their minds.  I'm pretty sure our Army soldiers don't have to be mollycoddled and comforted if there are more of one color than another above them. They are trained to follow orders...pretty sure that training doesn't come with a race qualifier.

How completely ridiculous.

Here's the story behind the song. Long may she wave.

***This was fashion week in New York. If this is haute couture, I'll stick with J.C. Penney. Sheesh.

                                      Well that's...flattering...

I know it's hard to believe, but this is not satire...

Lovely dahling, especially the hat...

Okay, this one made me laugh out loud...

People pay thousands of dollars to look this ridiculous?

To a Skylark

By William Wordsworth
Ethereal minstrel! pilgrim of the sky!
Dost thou despise the earth where cares abound?
Or, while the wings aspire, are heart and eye
Both with thy nest upon the dewy ground?
Thy nest which thou canst drop into at will,
Those quivering wings composed, that music still!

Leave to the nightingale her shady wood;
A privacy of glorious light is thine;
Whence thou dost pour upon the world a flood
Of harmony, with instinct more divine;
Type of the wise who soar, but never roam;
True to the kindred points of Heaven and Home!
