A Moral Code

***This is a good piece by Robert Knight: How a moral code outrages the secular Left.

Have you ever noticed that people who worry most about someone “imposing your morality” on them are often the same folks who speak almost entirely in moral terms?
Statistics, logic, historical perspective and even biology are no match for the moral-heavy vernacular of victimhood.
How else to explain the lunacy spreading through the federal judiciary like kudzu regarding voter-approved marriage laws, which the courts are striking down with mad abandon. Seventh Circuit Judge Richard A. Posner spoke for many of his colleagues in the bin, er, on the bench, when he characterized laws that recognize natural marriage solely as products of “hate” and “savage” discrimination.
There are ways to address this kind of nonsense. The late, great William F. Buckley got away with employing a blizzard of logic against liberal opponents by seasoning it with gentle, disarming ridicule. He regularly exposed their lunatic notions without appearing to call them crazy or immoral.

But I’m willing to go out on a limb and call some of today’s public figures and commentators certifiable.
It is an interesting phenomenon. If you'll notice, atheists are the ones usually bringing up God and
religion - in order to mock and ridicule, of course, but again, they are usually the ones to bring up the subject in whatever conversation is going on, then they proceed to knock that strawman all over the place. THEY bring it up, but WE are the ones "shoving religion down their throats" if we dare defend our deeply held beliefs. See, it's okay if THEY hold an unswerving belief in...well, not sure what, but you get my drift. All leftists are like that (not that all atheists are leftists, that's not true). Liberals love to throw race into every argument they engage in, then accuse their interlocutors of racism. Sit back and watch...on TV, anywhere - it is almost ALWAYS liberals who bring race into the conversation. See, they have to have a boogieman to knock down, because *they *have *no *ideas. Gotta go back to the race card, because it's all they have.

It's the same with gay marriage, abortion, any of their sacred cows. It's okay for them to have a rabid, almost psychotic need to defend their side of the argument, but defend yours and you're a bigot. I have found it's pretty useless to get into a debate with a liberal, as I've said before. They really have nothing to add to the conversation, so it's not long before they resort to ad hominems and, frankly, stupid assertions. Waste of time, every time.

Want to see how they twist the facts in order to fit their agenda? Here's a good example from the piece linked above:
Historian Carol Anderson was given a half page in The Washington Post’s Sunday Outlook section on Aug. 31 for an article titled “Ferguson isn’t about black rage.” The Emory University professor insists that the police shooting in the St. Louis suburb of unarmed robbery suspect Michael Brown, which was followed by days of rioting and looting, was triggered by “white rage against black progress.” Say what?
She cited the Jim Crow era and linked it to current conservative efforts to “slash the government payrolls that have long served as sources of black employment.” So, if you worry that the federal government’s nearly $18 trillion debt and millions of lines of government red tape pose a serious threat to America’s future, you must be a white racist. Even if you’re black.
See? How do you argue with someone with nutty opinions like that?

***This is gonna have to be fast. I am totally buried in work.

***Democrats are spending millions in House race in Colorado for Clinton ally. But...they're the ones who say there's too much money in politics. Well...not if it's being spent on THEIR candidates, of course. Liberal=Hypocrite. Always has, always will.

***S. Truett Cathy, RIP. He was the founder of Chik-fil-A.

By now you likely know that S. Truett Cathy, the beloved founder of the popular Chick-fil-A restaurants, died this morning. He was 93.
With more than 1,800 stores and $5 billion in annual sales, Truett will be remembered by many as an entrepreneurial genius, a fast-food pioneer and an astute man of business. His rags-to-riches story should inspire anyone. Opening a diner in Hapeville, Georgia, in 1946, Mr. Cathy launched the now iconic brand on a shoestring. Along the way, he worked hard, invested wisely and enjoyed immense success.

That's one reason liberals hate him. He worked hard and succeeded without government assistance.

But the biggest reason?

He loved and cared first and foremost about Jesus Christ.
He loved and cared about the Bible, and used God’s wisdom and principles to inform his own, both at home and at the office.
He loved and cared about Chick-fil-A employees and their families, giving more than $32 million in financial assistance to them for everything from medical bills to food and rent. His commitment to closing all the restaurants on Sundays was an acknowledgement of both his desire to keep the Sabbath and give his employees time with their families.
He loved and cared about the sacred institution of marriage, believing that healthy homes lead to happy and successful lives. This is why he opened the WinShape marriage retreat center in Rome, Georgia. He understood that marriage is a long journey and that couples need help and encouragement along the way.
He loved and cared about children, especially the most vulnerable among us. It was this passion that led him to open 13 foster-care homes and a camp that’s ministered to over 18,000 children since its inception in 1985.

A wonderful man of unwavering faith. Anathema to a liberal.
