It's a Mystery

***I was listening to Rush while I ran to get some paper for my printer. There was a recent poll (CNN, so take it with a grain of salt) saying the Democrats are closing the gap. He said, "It's unbelievable. As much damage as they've done to the country, as much as they have failed in every way, how can they even have a chance?" I have to agree. I think part of the problem is our Republican leadership refuses to push back with any  more than a tepid response to the tyrannical practices of this president and his socialist Democrats in Congress. Mark Levin says it well here. We have to nominate a strong conservative in 2016, or we're history.

***Well, so what? Nothing scary going on in the world or anything. Obama has missed over half of his daily briefings in his 2nd term. Must be getting in the way of his tee times.

***Missouri boy battling terminal cancer scores touchdown in first game.

A six-year-old Missouri boy battling terminal cancer served as captain of a local football team last weekend, and scored a touchdown with the help of some teammates.
When he was just 3-years-old, doctors diagnosed Liam Myrick with stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma. Since then, Liam has undergone 14 rounds of intravenous chemotherapy, two bone marrow transplants, 20 rounds of radiation, six rounds of oral chemotherapy and nine major surgeries, Shawna Myrick, his mother, told FoxNews.com.
Mighty Mite coach Jerry Elliot called the Myrick family ahead of the game and said the team would like to honor Liam for the day if he was up for it. Liam, who watches football with his family and supports the local high school team, said yes.
Liam ran through the team banner and called the coin toss, but the highlight for the family was watching Liam score his first touchdown from the 15-yard line.
“It’s probably one of the coolest memories we’ve had,” Shawna said. “He’s our only boy, so for him to do something like this, it was very cool.”
Liam came off the field excited after reaching the end zone, but he needed medicine because he was in pain. Doctors haven’t given Liam very much time, and he doesn’t have as much energy as he used to.
“We’re just trying to make each day what we can at this point,” Shawna said, adding he has more bad times than good lately.

***Romney 2016 talk growing. One word - no. He's a good man and would have been infinitely better than Obama, but we need a Reagan conservative. We need a winner.

A New Ending

No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
There isn't promise of days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but can promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.
Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards. Don't stay on the bumps too long. Move on! When you feel down because you didn't get what you want, just sit tight, and be happy.
There's a purpose to life's events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard. You can't make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, and the rest is up to the person to realize your worth. It's better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride. We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give.
Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one who can take his place. Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

Not His Fault!

***Well of COURSE it's not Obama's fault. Nothing is! He's blaming the intelligence community for his failures with ISIS. Apparently they're not taking it lying down...wonder if anyone other than Fox News will cover the story?

One wouldn't be surprised if President Obama's Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, woke up Monday morning checking for tire tracks after his boss effectively threw him under the bus for having "underestimated" the threat posed by the Islamic State militant group.
But Obama's remarks in a "60 Minutes" interview drew immediate objections from lawmakers and the intelligence community.
In the interview, Obama was asked how the Islamic State was able to gain so much territory. "Our head of the intelligence community Jim Clapper has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," the president said.
Clapper previously had admitted that U.S. analysts both underestimated the Islamic State, or ISIS, and "overestimated" the ability of the Iraqi army to fight them.
But sources say Obama nevertheless was looped in on the rise of ISIS for a while.

What a whining, effeminate little weasel our president is. No wonder our country is sliding into the abyss so quickly. We had better hope a lot of Democrats get thrown out in November, or we're history.

***From Jim Daly's blog at Focus on the Family:

The right to freely acknowledge and practice one’s faith was a cherished freedom our Founding Fathers were willing to risk their lives to protect. So you’d think that this historical right—and the fact that it’s emphasized in the U.S. Constitution—would be recognized, even celebrated, in our public schools today.
Instead, we are seeing more Christian students being censored.
For instance, how would you feel if…
  • Your 5-year-old daughter tells you that the “lunch teacher” stopped her from praying as she bowed her head before eating and told her, “You’re not allowed to pray”? This happened to a family in Florida who later said they decided to pull their child out of the school.
    Boy studying
  • Your fifth-grade student is told he can’t voluntarily read his Bible during the free-reading period? That happened to Giovanni Rubeo. According to a letter from a legal group (Liberty Institute), when his teacher saw Giovanni reading his Bible, she asked, “What book is that that you are reading?” In response, Giovanni cautiously held up his Bible. The teacher then “demanded, ‘Put it on my desk!’”Later, the teacher “left the following message [on his father’s voice mail] while Giovanni’s peers looked on: ‘I noticed that he [Giovanni] has a book—a religious book—in the classroom. He’s not permitted to read those books in my classroom.’”
  • Your high school student is excited to learn he has earned the honor of being class salutatorian. But when he turns in his graduation speech, references to his personal faith in God and the Bible are marked out with a black pen. Yup, that really happened too.
Thankfully, our Christian youth are demonstrating remarkable spiritual courage under pressure. The high school student Brooks Hamby, for instance, turned the challenge into an opportunity to publicly share with his classmates about why it’s important to stand up for your biblical beliefs. Likewise, Giovanni and his father stood up for the religious freedom to read his Bible during free time—and the school eventually agreed.
But still, can we really afford to remain silent while our children receive messages from the culture and their schools that mentions of God and the Bible are tantamount to speaking dirty words? That their beliefs are too shameful to speak about or acknowledge publicly?
Of course not.

Safe & Sound!

***Back from a little vacation to Folly Beach, South Carolina. Had a nice time, but I can't say a relaxing time. I worked from there in the mornings, and still couldn't really just leave it. I won't be leaving through the week like that again. If we go anywhere it's usually  just Friday-Monday or something like that due to our businesses. I'll certainly be going back to that as long as I have as many clients as I have. BUT...I love the ocean and I'm so glad I got to spend some time there, with family.

***"Workplace violence?" Right, just like Ft. Hood.

Authorities are treating Thursday's beheading at an Oklahoma food distribution center as an incident of workplace violence but that is prompting raised eyebrows among some terrorism experts.
The FBI is investigating the incident in which fired employee Alton Nolen, 30, allegedly attacked Colleen Hufford, 54, stabbing her several times before severing her head. Nolen also stabbed another women at the plant. The company’s COO, a reserve sheriff’s deputy, thwarted the second attack, shooting Nolen, who is in stable condition.
Co-workers reportedly said Nolen tried to convert them to Islam after his own recent conversion.

***A 137 ft deep pool?

Talk about a heart-stopping plunge.
A new pool in Italy holds a world record for the deepest swimming pool ever built and has depths equivalent to a 12-story building.
Let that sink in for a moment.

Y-40 Deep Joy pool is a terrifying 137-feet deep and 59-feet wide.  Housed on the grounds of Hotel Terme Millepini near Padua, Italy, it was designed by architect Emanuele Boaretto, who wanted "to build the best swimming pool in the world."  In June, the Guinness World Records-certified it as the world's deepest swimming pool for scuba diving.

***The 2nd Amendment gets a reprieve.

A reluctant District of Columbia Council voted unanimously Tuesday to allow people to carry concealed handguns in the nation's capital for the first time in nearly 40 years.
The bill was crafted to comply with a court ruling that struck down the District's ban on carrying handguns outside the home.
Residents and visitors who want to carry a concealed handgun would have to show a specific reason that they need one, among other requirements, and District leaders are hoping that the law would withstand further court challenges. But the attorney who challenged the ban on carrying guns has said the legislation is too restrictive and does not comply with the court ruling.

They shouldn't have to "show a specific reason that they need one," but it's a step in the right direction.

I Shall Wear Purple
by Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Leftist Tactics

***Here's how they get things done, via deceit and falsehoods. I don't understand these people. They're anti-liberty and anti-American. "Progressives" are about controlling what you can say, think, eat, do, etc. They're no more about equality and justice than Mao Tse-Tung was. They can't beat Rush by coming up with shows that people will listen to, so they must resort to shutting him up, and anyone else who disagrees with them.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s newest email spam, asking their recipients to sign a petition calling for sponsors to end their relationship with The Rush Limbaugh Show, is based on the two-year-old Stop Rush political protest as it’s inspiration. After an investigation, The Rush Limbaugh Show has discovered a far darker story to Stop Rush, and is today releasing the hidden story of the people and motives behind the Stop Rush conspiracy.
The Stop Rush group claims to be made up of ordinary consumers unhappy with Rush Limbaugh’s comments. The group claims to be “grassroots,” just concerned consumers who won’t shop at businesses that advertise with Rush Limbaugh. In truth, however, there are no potential customers here, just a small number of hardcore political activists founded by Angelo Carusone, EVP of Media Matters for America.
It’s remarkably tiny. Only 10 Twitter users account for almost 70% of all StopRush tweets to advertisers, amplified by illicit software. In addition, almost every communication from a StopRush activist originates from outside the State of the advertiser. Thus, these activists are not and never would have been customers… their only role is to harass small businesses in an attempt to interfere with their operations, as long as they are advertising with Rush.
“A small number of politically motivated out of-state activists are distributing target lists indiscriminately, and annoying small businesses until they give up the advertising deals that help them grow, or risk being unable to conduct business at all. It’s not even activism… it’s blackmail,” according to Brian Glicklich, Rush Limbaugh Show spokesperson.
How does this small group make themselves look so much bigger than they actually are? Stop Rush has deployed custom automated tweeting software, in violation of Twitter’s rules, that lets their activists send tweets at a rate far faster than any unassisted person could do manually. They send barrages of thousands of messages through this software until advertisers are bullied and harassed into cancellation.
These activists have long operated in secret and anonymously. But now, The Rush Limbaugh Show has the results of an investigation that names the people tweeting, facebooking, and emailing small businesses with harassing and bullying messages over and over until they surrender. These names are surprising, and include a tenured professor at Kent State University using her official email account to badger advertisers.

I hope he sues them.

Critics want to know why the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives quietly made the change in 2012.

HIllary's Alinsky Letters

***I honestly don't know how any red-blooded American can still call themselves a Democrat. Read this piece, and don't be fooled by the media's ham-handed attempts at portraying her as "moderate." She is a radical leftist, and her rule wouldn't be much different than Obama's. Of course, if you're a socialist and like the direction the United States is heading, then I see why you love her. Anyone else? Inform yourself and stop being a pawn.

Why Hillary's Alinsky Letters Matter.

***Home Is Where the Heart Is

-- By Al Albrecht, Home Spun Poems
Home is where the heart is, where love should be all the time,
Respect and kindness, and peace and joy, that you can say are mine.
It's where in times of illness, concern comes from the heart,
And little acts of goodness, will always be a part.

Home is where there's hope and joy, and laughter does abound.
No matter when, or where, or how, that's where it's always found.
Don't ever let the blues come in, just pray them out the door,
Just try your best, and keep right on, you'll be a winner sure.

Home is filled with gladness, sadness is never there.
There are miles and miles of praises, you hear them everywhere.
So keep looking up and be cheerful, as cheerful as you can be,
That's the key to never-ending love, in a home for all to see.

Home is where the "River of Love" flows like a mighty stream,
It's banks are full to overflowing, like a never-ending dream.
Yes, times may come and times may go, but let me tell you this,
The home where God is worshipped, is the home that He will bless.

So hang in there, dear friend of mine, it's worth it all the time,
From early morn til eventide, with God always by your side.
Sure man you picked a winner, with me you must agree,
Just take time out, they will get better, pray and wait and see.

Demonizing Success

***This is what the Democrats do best. If you're a successful business owner, you are *evil*. Most of them have never run a business, heck, most of them are career politicians who have never even worked in the private sector. Perfect example: Illinois.

Yesterday, Senator Dick Durbin blasted Oberweis on minimum wage, taxes, corporate inversions and any other capitalist endeavor he could think of.   I guess if I was a reporter, I’d ask Durbin, “What private business have you ever run?”
The Senator, bless his heart, has been a career politician.  When I mean career, I mean the last time he worked in the private sector was probably mowing lawns as a kid.  Our current governor is a career politician.  Every Democratic candidate for statewide office is a career politician.
Personally, I don’t agree with Oberweis on all the issues.  However, I hate to see the Democratic Party continually demonize Americans that are successful.  What?  Should we all be failures? Should we only elect career politicians from both parties?  In campaign after campaign if a business person has been successful Democrats say they are out of touch.  It happens even if they are women.

"Should we all be failures?" Oh, they'd like that. Failures dependent on the government is where they get their power. Where they think the money to bribe these people is going to come from if they continually destroy private business is beyond me. Maybe the key word there is "think." Here is what career politicians get you:

Illinois has been run by career politicians from BOTH sides of the aisle for a long time.  What’s that gotten the state?
Illinois has turned from a government for the people by the people to a government that is for the politicians by the politicians.

Not only Illinois, they want the whole darn country like this. They'll blame the Republicans (yes, even if they've been out of power for years, and their moron base will believe it), then swoop in to save the day. That's how they do things.

***Our pastor has been doing a sermon series on the miracle of salvation. What a blessing it has been! Today he covered justification by faith alone. Wonderful message, and one a lot of denominations get wrong. I know of some wonderful people who have been fooled into thinking they can lose their salvation if they're not "good enough." Got news for ya, nobody's good enough. If we could be good enough, Jesus wouldn't have had to die. The more confused ones will say you're saved by faith alone, but you need works to keep that salvation. If Jesus' blood is enough to save you, it's enough to keep you saved. Again, we can't be good enough apart from Jesus, it just can't be done. Thank God for His Grace!

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. Eph. 2:8-9

The Queen, the President, and the Flatulent Horse

AT HEATHROW Airport in England, a 300-foot red carpet was stretched out to Air Force One and President Bush strode to a warm but dignified handshake from Queen Elizabeth II. They rode in a silver 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London where they boarded an open 17th century coach hitched to six magnificent white horses.
As they rode toward Buckingham Palace, each looking to their side and waving to the thousands of cheering Britons lining the streets, all was going well. This was indeed a glorious display of pageantry and dignity. Suddenly the scene was shattered when the right rear horse let rip the most horrendous, earth-shattering, eye-smarting blast of flatulence, and the coach immediately filled with noxious fumes.
Uncomfortable, but maintaining control, the two dignitaries did their best to ignore the whole incident, but then the Queen decided that was a ridiculous manner with which to handle a most embarrassing situation. She turned to Mr. Bush and explained, "Mr. President, please accept my regrets. I'm sure you understand that there are some things even a Queen cannot control."
George W., ever the Texas gentleman, replied, "Your Majesty, please don't give the matter another thought. You know, if you hadn't said something I would have assumed it was one of the horses."

(No, this isn't true, it's an Urban Legend. But it's funny. :-) )

***"Transparency." 8 ways the Obama Administration is blocking information. Only 8?

Here are the first three - follow the link for the rest.

1) As the United States ramps up its fight against Islamic militants, the public can’t see any of it. News organizations can’t shoot photos or video of bombers as they take off — there are no embeds. In fact, the administration won’t even say what country the S. bombers fly from.
2) The White House once fought to get cameramen, photographers and reporters into meetings the president had with foreign leaders overseas. That access has become much rarer. Think about the message that sends other nations about how the world’s leading democracy deals with the media:  Keep them out and let them use handout photos.
3) Guantanamo: The big important 9/11 trial is finally coming up. But we aren’t allowed to see most court filings in real time — even of nonclassified material. So at hearings, we can’t follow what’s happening. We don’t know what prosecutors are asking for, or what defense attorneys are arguing.

***An anti-war president goes to war. What could possibly go wrong?

As the Congress and the country debate the momentous question of how to meet the threat posed by the Islamic State and other enemies in the war on terrorism, one thing has become increasingly clear: It’s impossible to conduct and win a war when you’re led by an anti-war president.
The uncertain trumpet that President Obama has sounded in the face of Islamist gains in Iraq and Syria has left lawmakers, allies and ordinary citizens confused about both American policy and American resolve. The Code Pink protesters who tried to disrupt Capitol Hill hearings on the war should save one of their pink T-shirts for the president to wear the next time he addresses the nation on his war policy.

Hillary's Problem

***Well, I'm no Dick Morris fan, but I hope he's right about this: "Benghazi problem" due to hit Hillary Clinton hard."

Dick Morris, former White House strategist during the heyday of Bill Clinton, said Wednesday’s Capitol Hill hearings on Benghazi are only the tip of the iceberg — the issue is about to get really heated for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“She hasn’t hit that bump in the road yet really,” Mr. Morris said during an interview on “America’s Forum” on Newsmax TV. “She’s about to hit big time the Benghazi problem.”
He explained the process of investigation and said it wouldn’t be pretty for the Democratic Party presidential forerunner.
“First of all, you have the hearings,” he said, Newsmax reported. “You have the report that there was a document dump going on before the hearings in the basement of the State Department overseen by her chief counsel, Cheryl Mills.”
Add to that the “televised testimony” of three guards at the Benghazi facility, when they tell Fox News’ Bret Baier that “the commander told them to stand down, stay put and not go to the aid of the consulate,” he said, Newsmax reported.
“When they finally got there — disobeying orders and went there — it was half an hour after the raid started and the ambassador was dead,” Mr. Morris said.

The more I learn about this, and the more I watch the liberal media ignore it, the madder I get. This should have ended the careers of Obama, Hillary, and anyone else involved; instead they prosper, aided and abetted by uninformed, frankly ignorant Democrat voters. We all know what would have happened had a Republican been in office - but then, Benghazi wouldn't have happened with a Republican in office. It is unfathomable to me that Hillary Clinton is even thinking about running for president. Like her horny husband, she has absolutely no shame. Anyone with a conscience would have been ashamed to show their face after the Lewinsky fiasco, but there he was, yukking it up for the camera whenever he had the chance - and his idiot fans still adored him, and do to this day. Unbelievable.

Psalm 37 King James Version (KJV)

37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

Remember When?

***Remember when the Democrats were saying, "Listen to the generals?" Well, no more: Barack Obama silences generals on US ground troops in Iraq.

President Barack Obama today decisively silenced speculation by America's generals that US ground troops could return to Iraq in a rare example of the White House publicly overruling the military.
A day after US generals suggested that American troops may be needed to liberate jihadist-occupied cities in Iraq, Mr Obama promised soldiers: "I will not commit you and the rest of our armed forces to fighting another ground war in Iraq."
His emphatic statement at a Florida military base highlights the tensions between a president determined to avoid American casualties and commanders sceptical that Isil can be defeated with air power alone.
Mr Obama was forced to repeat his pledge of "no boots on the ground" after General Martin Dempsey told a Senate hearing there may be situations where Iraqi forces need American advisers during combat.
The suggestion angered and alarmed Mr Obama's liberal supporters and prompted the White House to hastily rule out the possibility of Americans on the front line.

Yeah, because heaven forbid he make a decision that would make his base angry. Doesn't matter if it's the right thing to do for America...not that he'd know the right thing to do if it boxed his big ears. I really can't stand liberals. I mean *really*.

***Lawyers Guild seeks to indict Obama...this is a *liberal* group. Now, before you get all excited, read what they believe is "aiding and abetting genocide:"

The National Lawyers Guild — a hard-left assortment of radical lawyers and “legal workers” — is seeking to have President Obama, Secretary of Defense Hagel, and members of Congress indicted by the International Criminal Court for “aiding and abetting” genocide, crimes against humanity, and other war crimes.
Among the bases for these extraordinarily serious accusations, is that “the United States Congress overwhelmingly passed, and President Obama signed, an appropriation of $225 million for Israel’s Iron Dome missile system” — a purely defensive shield that destroys missiles heading for Israeli population centers.
Yes, you read that correctly. According to these irresponsible bigots, it is genocide to help the nation state of the Jewish people protect its Jewish and Arab citizens against thousands of rockets being fired at its cities, towns, and airport.

That's right...because they defend themselves effectively, the Jewish people are committing genocide. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

Blockbuster, Bombshell, Bah!

***Hey, I'm not saying the "revelation" that Hillary Clinton's cronies scrubbed incriminating documents before turning them over to the Accountability Review Board (which, by the way, in this administration means nothing) is not important, I'm just saying it's not going to be treated as important. Why, if there were a Republican administration there would be no end to the gleeful news coverage, wall to wall, nonstop, it would be a feeding frenzy for the media in this country. As it is? Well, you can almost hear the crickets chirping. It's shameful and demoralizing to think our Founding Fathers wanted to ensure freedom of the press so the citizens of our country could be informed. Now? The media is nothing but an arm of the Democrat Party.

Trey Gowdy and other Republicans who want to get at the truth are facing an uphill battle. There is no way our "Justice" Department, with Eric the Red Holder in charge, is going to let anything happen to His Highness, or anyone else in the inner circle. We have GOT to get those pathetic excuses for human beings out of there.

***Goldfish  undergoes brain surgery. You gotta be kidding me...

A 10-year-old goldfish in Australia is recovering from life-saving surgery to remove a brain tumor, BBC News reported Tuesday.
George, whose owner lives in Melbourne, underwent the high-risk procedure after being placed in a bucket of ice water that contained anesthetic, according to the Lort Smith Animal Hospital’s Facebook page.
"George had a quite large tumor on the top of his head that was growing slowly, and it was beginning to affect his quality of life," said Dr. Tristan Rich, who performed the operation.

A Time to Talk
by Robert Frost

When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don't stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven't hoed,
And shout from where I am, 'What is it?'
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.

***Erasing the truth: Ex-office claims Clinton allies scrubbed Benghazi documents in secret session. I completely believe this. There is so much corruption in this current administration it's pathetic.

A former State Department official has told lawmakers that Hillary Clinton allies privately removed politically damaging documents before turning over files to the supposedly independent board investigating the Benghazi terror attack.

"Independent board." Right.

Again With the Race Thing...

***The race police are ruining our military. Now they're worried that there are "too many white officers."

U.S. Army sociologists are worried that a lack of black officers leading its combat troops will have detrimental effect on minorities and lead to fewer black officers in top leadership posts.
“The issue exists. The leadership is aware of it,” Brig. Gen. Ronald Lewis toldUSA Today on Thursday. “The leadership does have an action plan in place. And it’s complicated.”
Here's an idea. Stop worrying about their race. That should have absolutely nothing to do with whether a soldier moves up. His/her qualifications are all that matter. The real racists are the ones who can't get race off their minds.  I'm pretty sure our Army soldiers don't have to be mollycoddled and comforted if there are more of one color than another above them. They are trained to follow orders...pretty sure that training doesn't come with a race qualifier.

How completely ridiculous.

Here's the story behind the song. Long may she wave.

To a Skylark

By William Wordsworth
Ethereal minstrel! pilgrim of the sky!
Dost thou despise the earth where cares abound?
Or, while the wings aspire, are heart and eye
Both with thy nest upon the dewy ground?
Thy nest which thou canst drop into at will,
Those quivering wings composed, that music still!

Leave to the nightingale her shady wood;
A privacy of glorious light is thine;
Whence thou dost pour upon the world a flood
Of harmony, with instinct more divine;
Type of the wise who soar, but never roam;
True to the kindred points of Heaven and Home!

JV Administration

***James Foley's mother "appalled by US government's handling of case." Well, we may be appalled, but we certainly aren't surprised.

The mother of James Foley -- an American journalist beheaded by ISIS militants -- said she is "embarrassed and appalled" by how the U.S. government dealt with her son's case, telling CNN that officials even suggested family members could be charged if they raised ransom to free him.
"I think our efforts to get Jim freed were an annoyance" to the U.S. government, Diane Foley told CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview that aired Thursday. "It didn't seem to be in (U.S.) strategic interest, if you will."
Officials told Foley family members "not go to the media," and that the "government would not exchange prisoners," or carry out "military action" to try to rescue her son, according to Diane Foley.
"Jim was killed in the most horrific way. He was sacrificed because of just a lack of coordination, lack of communication, lack of prioritization," Diane Foley said. "As a family, we had to find our way through this on our own."

She added that the family was told many times that raising ransom "was illegal (and) we might be prosecuted."
"We were just told to trust that he would be freed somehow, miraculously," Foley's mother told CNN. "And he wasn't, was he?"

This is pathetic. This damnable administration abandoned him, the same way they're abandoning our Marine in Mexico. It's hard to believe there are still people in this country who support this poor excuse for a president. That takes a special kind of stupid.

***Anti-war crowd stunningly silent now. That's because liberals are leftist hypocrites and political hacks with no principle and no character.

I could have sworn we were going to war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
But the president, a well-known theologian, has informed us that despite what the Muslims of ISIS say, the Islamic State “is not Islamic.” So I guess we’re in a war against SIS — the State of Iraq and Syria. But it still is a war, isn’t it, Mr. Secretary Kerry?
“I think that’s the wrong terminology,” he sniffed yesterday. “What we are engaging in is a very significant counterterrorism operation.”
Does that make it … a police action? Will we have to destroy the village in order to save it?
It’s all very confusing. When George W. Bush considered invading Iraq without a declaration of war, the Democrats wanted to try him for war crimes in The Hague. When Obama does the same thing ... crickets.
Which raises another question: Where exactly is the anti-war movement?
Have you see a single “No Blood for Oil” sign in Cambridge?
To paraphrase the John Kerry of 2004: “Can I get me a candlelight vigil here?”

***Poll: Women, young turning against Obama. Well that's nice and all, but a few years too late. We can hope it translates into conservative victories in future elections, though. It's gonna be a long, hard road back to the greatness America is capable of.

Never Forget

***George W. Bush's address to the nation after the 9-11 attacks.

Good evening. Today our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices: secretaries, business men and women, military and Federal workers, moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.
The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our Nation into chaos and retreat, but they have failed. Our country is strong.
A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.
Today our Nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America, with the daring of our rescueworkers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.
Immediately following the first attack, I implemented our Government's emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington, DC, to help with local rescue efforts.
Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks.
The functions of our Government continue without interruption. Federal agencies in Washington which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight and will be open for business tomorrow. Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be open for business as well.
The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and to bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.
I appreciate so very much the Members of Congress who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the American people, I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.
America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world, and we stand together to win the war against terrorism.
Tonight I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me."
This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.
Thank you. Good night, and God bless America.
