Unwritten Rule

***When it comes to scandals, the media's motto is "Hide "D," Showcase "R."

On Friday, September 29, 2006, Representative Mark Foley of Florida resigned after ABC News exposed him for having sent explicit e-mails to male House pages. That evening and on the next day’s morning news shows, ABC, CBS, and NBC all tied Foley to the GOP. “This is more than just one man’s downfall,” Today co-host Matt Lauer solemnly declared on NBC. “It could be a major blow to the Republican party.”
On March 10, 2008, news broke that New York governor Eliot Spitzer had been linked to a prostitution ring. It took NBC News four nights to acknowledge Spitzer’s party affiliation. In its first two days of coverage, Matt Lauer’s Today show ran 18 segments on the scandal and never once identified him as a Democrat.

This is not an isolated incident, as anyone paying attention knows. Read the piece. It is blatantly obvious that the majority of the news media in this country is biased toward the Left. You have to be blind not to see that.

***RIP, Lauren Bacall.

***Unbelievable: With terrorists on the march in Syria, Iraq, and dozens of other hot spots around the world, the Regime has apparently decided they want to play with fire, again, when it comes to Libya. Get this. The Regime is lifting a longstanding regulation prohibiting Libyans from coming here to attend flight school, work in aviation, or be trained in nuclear science.

***The fine print in Gabrielle Giffords' gun grab plan.

  1. "Under this law, someone who is accused, but not convicted, loses their 2nd Amendment rights."
If a vindictive partner decides to accuse her partner of domestic violence, that alone can trigger taking his guns away, whether he's guilty or innocent.

  2. "[W]hen police confiscate firearms, they tend not to want to give them back. Even after someone has cleared their name, they run into roadblocks in trying to regain their lawfully owned guns."
Evidently, the "solution" to a temporary restraining order -- is permanent firearms confiscation!

  3. "When cops confiscate firearms, they don’t take very good care of them."
A person with a very expensive gun collection can lose thousands of dollars due to ruined guns and lost accessories; and police have no obligation to compensate the innocent victims of wanton gun seizures.

And then she just pulls statistics from the clear blue sky:

The majority of mass shootings in the United States involve instances of domestic violence. Women in the United States who are targets of domestic abuse and stalking are at an increased risk of gun attacks, and are more than three-and-a-half times as likely than men to be killed by an intimate partner. A gun in a household with a history of domestic violence also increases the risk that a woman will be killed there by 20 times compared to households without guns. And compared to women in other high-income countries, women in the United States are 11 times more likely to be murdered with a gun.

No citation, no proof whatsoever. We're just supposed to take her word for it. Not happening. I don't take a Democrat's word for *anything*.
