Have you ever thought about how wildly unrealistic and unsustainable our current diets are?Only when I’m at a fabulous new restaurant that’s charging $47 for kale-dusted medallions of artisanal suet, but I have the feeling that’s not what the author means.
Items that don’t grow within the same season are commonly consumed together. Things that don’t grow on the same continent are combined into all sorts of meals. We eat blueberries in December and drink pumpkin spice lattes in the summer. We eat tropical fruit with Midwestern grains. Without the transportation system, there would be absolutely no rhyme or reason to our “normal” diets.
Do these people go the library or surf the internet (better not, that takes energy) looking for things to be outraged about? Must be exhausting to be them,; always offended, always looking for ways to show us how much better they are than we, always looking down their noses at anyone who dares to have any fun. I just described most liberals I know. Read the piece, James Lileks does a great job of poking fun at these busybodies.
***Bill & Hillary are after our 1st amendment rights.
The Clintons — Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea — release a joint statement on recent books critical of them by Ed Klein, Daniel Halper, and Ronald Kessler:
Their behavior should neither be allowed nor enabled, and legitimate media outlets who know with every fiber of their being that this is complete crap should know not to get down in the gutter with them and spread their lies. But if anyone isn’t sure, let’s strap all three to a polygraph machine on live TV and let the needle tell the truth.Got that? “Should not be allowed.” I can’t wait for Hillary to take the oath and pledge “to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution . . . except for the First Amendment rights of authors who criticize me.”
Because the Tuzla Dash/“dead broke”/“did not . . . have . . . sexual . . . relations” Clintons are just the right folks to accuse others of lying, right? Are Hillary and Bill willing to subject themselves to live, televised polygraph tests?
Those two are as thin-skinned as Obama. Oh, how I wish they would just *go* *away*.
***GOP trying to stop immigration policy by pen. I hope they can, but I'm skeptical that anyone is going to stop Obama from doing whatever he wants. The only way is going to be to take the Senate in November. If we don't, the country is doomed.
What really sickens me is the hypocrisy of the Left. Over at Democratic Underground, when Bush was president he was called a Nazi, fascist, dictator, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Now, when we really DO have a president who is acting like a dictator? Silence. He's the "right" color and in the "right" party, so it's hands off.
***"Incompetent madness." Couldn't have said it better myself.
President Barack Obama has abused his executive "discretion" and so severely violated his oath of office that he should either be considered "chief lawbreaker," or his tenure characterized as one of "incompetent madness," said Andrew Napolitano.
