Pathetic Coward

***Yeah, you know who I'm talking about. Have you heard the pap he spewed about Iraq today? This is HIS failure, but we all know he'll never admit it.

However, as Obama said on Friday, his apparent commitment to the political goals which propelled him into office – namely, a commitment to American retrenchment and especially the extrication of U.S. forces from the Iraqi theater – trumps the immediate security needs of a region in crisis.
“This is not solely or even primarily a military challenge,” Obama told reporters. He placed the burden of the present crisis on the Iraqi government, which the president said has fostered an atmosphere of sectarian mistrust by excluding Sunni groups from broader representation in the central government.
Obama insisted that internal political reforms must be forthcoming. “In the absence of this type of political effort, short-term military action, including any assistance we might provide, won’t succeed,” he insisted.
“Iraq’s neighbors also have a responsibility to support this process,” Obama said, “The United States will do our part, but understand that ultimately it is up to the Iraqis, as a sovereign nation, to solve their problems.”

When Bush left office we had the hope of a real Democracy in the Middle East, a real ally in an area of the world where we need it most. Now, thanks to the cowardice and incompetence of the First Black President, nearly all of our gains have been lost and Iraq is falling to the Taliban. This is sickening.

***The shame of the swap. This is a heart-wrenching story.

Alison Spann was just 9 when she learned her father, a U.S. Marine-turned CIA operative, had become the first American killed in the war in Afghanistan. Thirteen years later, she found out her country had freed the Taliban leader behind his death.
In the time between, Spann has cherished the memory of her father, Johnny Micheal “Mike” Spann, who was killed during a Nov. 25, 2001 prisoner uprising at a northern Afghanistan compound where he was interrogating Taliban fighters. The 32-year-old was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in a ceremony in which he was lauded by then-CIA Director George Tenet for trying to build a "better, safer world." His daughter has since grown up and recently graduated from Pepperdine University, even as more than 2,300 Americans have died fighting in Afghanistan.
But nothing prepared Alison Spann for news that Mullah Mohammad Fazi, the unquestioned leader of the prisoners at the compound where her father was killed, had been traded along with four cohorts held at Guantanamo Bay for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who had been held by the Taliban for nearly five years.

***How to unplug during vacation. When we go on one of our short over-the-weekend "vacations," I always have my laptop with me and am up before everyone, working. I really need to learn how to take some time off.

Being hundreds of miles away from the workplace and in a different time zone doesn’t mean an executives is unplugged from the office.
In fact, a new report finds that high-level employees rarely disconnect from the job during their hard-earned time off.
A report from talent management firm Korn Ferry finds that only 3% of executives say they “unplug” from work during their downtime. What’s more, 84% of respondents admit canceling a vacation due to work demands.
And of those who are on vacation, 67% say they connect with work at least once per day, according to the 250 executives Korn Ferry surveyed.

***US "Most Wanted" terrorist captured in Philippines. Geez, don't let Obama know.

***Ludicrous, Absurd comments from Democrats:

Despite U.S. intelligence stating that the released Gitmo prisoners will return to terrorism, Hillary Clinton said:
“These 5 guys are not a threat to the United States.”
 President Obama fell for Everytown for Gun Safety’s statistic that was easily debunked:
“We’re the only developed country on Earth where [school shootings happen]…And it happens now once a week.”
Even Hillary Clinton can’t name anything Hillary Clinton achieved at the State Department…
Diane Sawyer: “When people say ‘Where is the marquis achievement?’…’no sweeping agreements,’ ‘no signature doctrine’…?”

Hillary Clinton: “We haven’t had a signature doctrine since containment worked with the Soviet Union, uh, but we’ve had presidents who have made some tough calls, some ‘hard choices,’ some of which have worked, some of which have not.”

Well, thanks for clearing that up...

See it through

When you're up against a trouble,
Meet it squarely, face to face;
Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
Plant your feet and take a brace.
When it's vain to try to dodge it,
Do the best that you can do;
You may fail, but you may conquer,
See it through!

Black may be the clouds about you
And your future may seem grim,
But don't let your nerve desert you;
Keep yourself in fighting trim.
If the worst is bound to happen,
Spite of all that you can do,
Running from it will not save you,
See it through!

Even hope may seem but futile,
When with troubles you're beset,
But remember you are facing
Just what other men have met.
You may fail, but fall still fighting;
Don't give up, whate'er you do;
Eyes front, head high to the finish.
See it through!
