The most important political development in 200 years was triggered last week, when the state legislature of Michigan became the 34 th state to demand a “Constitutional Convention” in the United States. Under Article 5 of the US Constitution, if 2/3rds of the states call for such a convention, (meaning 34 states) it MUST take place. During such a convention, the ENTIRE Constitution can be changed; nothing is off-limits. This would even allow the States to dismantle the federal government without its consent, and repudiate the debt which that government has incurred! When it voted for the convention last week, Michigan became the 34 th state, thus meeting the requirement.
A goal has been reached behind what would be an unprecedented effort to amend the U.S. Constitution, through a little-known provision that gives states rather than Congress the power to initiate changes. This is the most significant political development in the entire world in the last 200 years.
Wouldn't you think something of this magnitude would be covered in the news? Nope, because they are of the liberal mindset that the federal government is God and must be obeyed. That's not the way the Constitution is written, but they don't care, and Obama CERTAINLY doesn't care. We really do have a weasel for a President.
***For the first time in a week I have a little time to blog. Last week was awful. I hope after this EMR upgrade they don't have to do that again for a loooong time. My mom hated it too - I still took her her coffee and paper every morning, but most days I'm there again in the afternoon, taking her to Meijer, Elder-Beerman, Kohl's, somewhere to make sure she gets up and walks around a bit. I didn't have time to do that this week. I worked from 3:00 a.m. until 6:00-6:30 every day. Not today! If it doesn't rain mom & I are going to some yard sales, the Amish store, and then to Cracker Barrel for lunch. Mark is going to take me out for dinner this evening, and in between I might do a little transcription, but not much! I'm going to enjoy my Saturday.
***Rob Schneider nails it:
Chris Stigall spoke with comedian Rob Schneider on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT about the struggle comedians face in today’s current political environment.
Schneider struck on ominous tone when discussing the path he sees the country on.
“Democracies don’t end well. We are sliding very fast towards fascism. It’s an ugly kind of thing. There’s this kind of mob mentality that we have to be careful of,” he said.
He believes comedians are pressured toward one side of the political spectrum.
“There’s a polarization that’s happening…I do think you look can look at government and go, ‘Wow, it is out of control now,’ and if you do criticize or tend to be not directly along a liberal stand, you can get murdered,” Schneider commented.
Schneider was very critical of the President’s handling of the economy and he feels certain policies are impacting businesses.
“There’s not one segment of business under the Obama administration that hasn’t been hurt…he attacks for-profit schools, which is totally an elitist thing from a guy that went to Harvard. I think for free, by the way,” Schneider said.
He was also critical of the media for being overly influenced by the government and not standing up for the American people.
“We don’t really have freedom of the press. It’s owned by about eight different companies, and it doesn’t really express or help the average American,” Schneider stated.

***Oh for heaven's sake. Now there's a church group attacking Sarah Palin for her "Waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists" comment. Get over yourselves, people. You sound like a bunch of liberals looking for something to be offended about.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee made her comments during the April 26 kickoff of the NRA’s “Stand and Fight Rally” in Indianapolis. During her speech, she criticized the Obama administration for coddling enemies, “enemies who would utterly annihilate America.”
“If I were in charge,” she said, “they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”
The petition joins a growing backlash against Ms. Palin’s comments. She took to her Facebook page to respond to critics, saying “Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots — including waterboarding. If some overly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended.”
You have to be actively looking for something to complain about if you think she's purposely denigrating the Christian ordinance of baptism. Sheesh.
