The Country's in the Very Best of Hands

***Oh my. A State Dept. spokesperson is citing lefty sites Daily Kos and Think Progress to make her points. What a glittering jewel of colossal stupidity.

***Woman-beating Obama donor gets fired, but he's the victim, don't you know. No wonder Obama likes him so much.

***Clippers owner Donald Sterling has really stepped in it. Oh, the media wanted so badly for him to be a Republican. But...he's a Democrat, so they'll sweep this under the rug as much as they can.

***Yikes, prayers for those in the path of the twisters over the weekend.

Emergency officials and rescue crews are searching for survivors after a powerful storm system moved through the central and southern United States Sunday, spawning multiple tornadoes that killed at least 18 people.
The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management confirmed early Monday that at least sixteen people died in Little Rock, Ark., when a twister carved an 80-mile path of destruction through suburbs north of the state capital.
Brandon Morris, spokesman for the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, said crews were sifting through the rubble Monday in the hope of uncovering survivors and to assess the full extent of the destruction.
"Right now, the main focus is life safety," Morris said. "We're trying to make sure everyone is accounted for."

***Seriously? A baby crying contest? And they're held by Sumo wrestlers, no less.

Babies wail as student sumo wrestlers hold them during a baby-crying competition, the Nakizumo Festival, at the Sensoji temple in Tokyo on Saturday. Babies are held face to face to determine how loud and long they can cry. The tradition dates back hundreds of years and a strong cry is seen as an indicator of future good health. Some 120 babies attended the event this year.

***Love this line by Sarah Palin: "Waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists!" Naturally, she's taking a lot of flak from the oh-so-sensitive crowd, but she's standing firm. You go, Sarah!

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin isn’t backing off the remark she made at the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting this weekend that if she were in charge, people “would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”
“Would I make it again? Why wouldn’t I? Yeah, absolutely,” she told NBC News. “Terrorists who want to annihilate Americans, innocent Americans, our children — whatever it takes to stop them. If I were in charge, I’d be stoppin’ em.”

On the Ning Nang Nong
by Spike Milligan

On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ning Nang Nong
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning
Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang
The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!

Okay, there's your dose of silliness for the day. :-)
