A Real Threat

***Russia threatens Ukraine. Putin is flicking Obama off his shoulder like a mosquito. What an embarrassment.

Ukraine says Russian forces controlling the disputed peninsula of Crimea are demanding that the crew of two Ukrainian warships must surrender – or face capture, but Russia is denying the claims.
Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Maksim Prauta said Monday that four Russian navy ships were blocking Ukraine's anti-submarine warship Ternopil and the command ship Slavutych in Sevastopol's harbor.
He said the Russians ordered the crew to surrender within the hour or face Russians storming and seizing the ships and crew.

This is real, and our president has no idea what he's into.

***Syrians warn Ukrainians: “Do not develop strategies that are based on any assumption that the U.S. or EU will demonstrate assertive leadership to deter Russian aggression.”

Think this would have happened if Bush were still in the White House? Nope.

***Well, whaddya know: Palin was right! (so was Romney)  That's gotta hurt...

As Brian and Neo have previously posted, during the 2012 campaign Mitt Romney was mocked by President Obama and his cheerleaders for highlighting the Russian threat to American interests.
Romney wasn’t the first Republican mocked for suggesting that Obama wasn’t ready or willing to stand up to Russia’s leader.
In 2008, vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin warned of Russian troops invading the Ukraine.
In October 2008, after Russia’s invasion of neighboring Georgia emerged as a foreign policy flashpoint in the homestretch of a heated campaign, Palin told an audience in Nevada, “After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.”
Her prediction was derided by Foreign Policy magazine  as “strange” and “extremely far-fetched,” but Palin, frequent media antagonist that she is, couldn’t resist crowing about how events have played out.

Oh, watch the liberals spin...

***George Soros and his lefty buddies trying to help inmates enroll in Obamacare. But remember, it's the Koch Brothers who are evil.

George Soros and the Obama administration are donating to a Chicago-based nonprofit group that is working to enroll prison inmates into insurance policies under Obamacare.

Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities (TASC) has set up enrollment programs at Chicago's Cook County Jail. Six other states and counties have done the same in an effort to put the cost of covering inmates on the federal government, The Daily Caller reported.

"A lot of states will come to this, because state corrections budgets are huge, and county jail budgets are huge," Maureen McDonnell, spokeswoman for TASC, told the Caller.

The group receives funding from Open Society Foundations, a group founded by Soros, and the U.S. Health and Human Services Department. Cook County, the city of Chicago, and the Illinois Department of Corrections, Department of Human Services, and Department of Children and Family Services are also donors to the organization.

The world’s oldest person has revealed the secret behind her long and healthy life, but if you think it’s all down to diet and lots of exercise then think again.
As it turns out Misao Okawa, who turns 116 years old on Wednesday, reckons it’s down to two simple things: sushi and sleep.
The Japanese woman, whose life has spanned across three centuries, eats three meals a day and ensures she always gets eight hours rest a night.

***From A Gift of Inspiration:

Yesterday's Door

I have shut the door on yesterday,
Its sorrows and mistakes.
I have locked within its gloomy walls
Past failures and mistakes.

And now I throw the key away,
And seek another room.
And furnish it with hope and smiles,
And every spring-time bloom.

No thought shall enter this abode
That has a taint of pain.
And envy, malice, and distrust
Shall never entrance gain.

I have shut the door on yesterday
And thrown the key away.
Tomorrow holds no fear for me,
Since I have found today.

  1. The situation in the Ukraine is a national embarrassment. I wrote about it today on my blog. Leading from behind didn't work for Carter either.
