The temperature record from stations across the U.S. has been systematically overinflated due to faulty data manipulation and “encroaching urbanity” -- locations near asphalt, air conditioning and airports -- according to a new study. And if correct, it calls into question just how hot our planet is getting.
Global warming believer-turned-skeptic Anthony Watts, a former TV meteorologist, posted a new report online questioning the reliability of weather stations in the U.S. Historical Climatology Network, a 120-year-old weather system that forms one tent pole of climate measurements. As the country has evolved, building urban metropolises and airports and pouring parking lots, the weather stations haven’t moved -- and poorly cited stations are spoiling the data.
They'll keep preachin', and the believers will keep believin', though.
***Had an interesting conversation with my sister-in-law yesterday. Interesting, but frustrating. We were talking politics, and she says she refuses to vote for Mitt Romney. Now, the whole family realizes what a disaster Barack Obama has been. I asked her why, and she said it's because he's a Mormon. I said, "That's it?" She said yes, and that she is going to write in Rick Santorum. I went through the whole bit about how it's either going to be Obama or Romney, but she doesn't care. She says Mormons don't believe in Christ, and she will not vote for someone to lead this country who doesn't believe in Christ. I understand what she's saying, but couldn't get her to see the bigger picture. Do you REALLY think Barack Obama believes in Christ? I don't. Obviously, I don't know the man's heart, but I can see his actions and hear his words, and I think he has a black heart. Of course I don't agree with the teachings of Mormonism, either. However, I also think Romney is not hostile to other peoples' beliefs, and is the best choice for the country. Again, it's either going to be Obama or Romney. The damage Obama and the Democrats are doing to the country is obviious, and Romney's plans are much more conservative. It's very important, of course, that we elect a majority in both Houses in order to get things done, but again, it's either Obama or Romney. To me, the choice couldn't be clearer.

***Todd & Sarah Palin at Chick-fil-A. Love it! We passed a Chick-fil-A yesterday and the parking lot was packed and the drive-through was wrapped around the building. Thank you, lefties! You've actually been a marketing bonanza for the very people you hate. Idiots.
***Elizabeth Warren ad: "I will do for you what the Communists have done for China." I'll just let you read and digest that one...
RUSH: It's from the New York Sun. Massachusetts residents that tuned into the Olympics opening ceremony saw a new 30-second campaign commercial from Elizabeth Warren that said America should be more like communist China. She is running for the United States Senate and is saying that to help herself win! She said, "We've got bridges and roads in need of repair and thousands of people in need of work. Why aren’t we rebuilding America? Our competitors are putting people to work, building a future. China invests 9% of its GDP in infrastructure. America? We’re at just 2.4%. We can do better."
***The Glory of Grace.
If you find it difficult to live the Christian life you are not alone. Many Christians live second-rate lives with feelings of insecurity, discontent, anxiety and impotency. For them, the joy and victory that the gospel of grace promises seem little more than a theoretical illusion, a fleeting ghost in the face of disappointments that trap them in a syndrome of stress, self-pity and depression. Sadly missing are the confidence, assurance and consistency that come from the life of freedom that faith in Jesus Christ brings for every believer.
Grace is the answer. Legalism is the enemy. Victory in the Christian life is obtained in the same manner as salvation: by appropriating, receiving, believing-not by works.
Take the time to read this study. It's wonderful.
