It's Ryan

***Romney has picked Paul Ryan as his running mate, sources are saying. It's not official yet. I think Paul Ryan is a great choice.Time for the attack ads with false information about Ryan to start. Watch for them.

***I watched the Women's Team Gymnastics finals on Xfinity last night. I was never able to watch them when they were on live, but really, this is a great way to watch them. You can pick which event you want to watch, and there are no commercials. Our girls really were fantastic! I'm going to watch the All-Around competition tonight.

***Wounded veterans in endurance biking race. More power to you, guys. Thank you.

***Obama admits he wants to take over more American industries. Hello, America? Are you listening to this? Get your nose out of the TV and pay attention!

OBAMA:  I believe in America workers. I believe in American industry. The American auto industry has come roaring back and GM is number one again!
FOLLOWERS: (cheering)
OBAMA: So now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs.  Not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.

First of all, GM is not number one, and it hasn't come "roaring back." That's a blatant lie. And his nincompoop followers believe it. Honestly, this is so frustrating. The insidious part, though, is his desire to take over more American industries. Read the whole thing.

***Ted Nugent: It's time for Romney to rock & roll. Yep. Take the gloves off. All you have to do is tell the truth about his utter failure as president.

Mitt Romney’s campaign is ready to go into high gear and start attacking President Barack Obama, rocker Ted Nugent — who says he is in regular contact with the GOP challenger’s camp — told Newsmax in an exclusive dressing-room interview.

And Nugent for one is pleased that the race for the White House is about to get scrappier as the two candidates go toe-to-toe in the final three months.

***This is a great piece on the importance of prayer...something a lot of us do only when we want something.

About nine years ago Kathy and I were contemplating the fact that we had largely failed to pray together over the years. Then Kathy exhorted me like this:prayer12.jpg

"What if our doctor told us that we had a serious heart condition that in the past was always fatal. However, now there was a pill which, if we took it every night, would keep us alive for years and years. But you could never miss a single night, or you would die. If our doctor told us this and we believed it, we would never miss. We would never say, 'oh I didn't get to it.' We would do it. Right? Well, if we don't pray together every night, we are going to spiritually die."

I realized she was right. And for some reason, the penny dropped for us both, and we can't remember missing a night since.

Even if we are far away from each other, there's always the phone. We pray very, very simply - just a couple of minutes. We pray for whatever we are most worried about as a couple, anyone or anything on our hearts that day. And we pray through the needs of our family. That's it. Simple, but so, so good.

Best: Idaho, Texas, Utah, Oklahoma, Louisiana
Worst: Rhode Island, Vermont, Hawaii, California, New York

See a pattern? The five best are governed by Republicans, the five worst are governed by Democrats. Coincidence? I think not.

***Slumdog brother. Talk about not having your bro's back...

  • Whilst the President inhabits the luxurious surroundings of the Oval Office and flies aboard Air Force One, his half-brother George Obama lives in a notorious African slum
  • George Obama has battled addictions to drink and drugs for most of his life at the same time as his relative has enjoyed a meteoric rise to power
  • The 30-year-old, who was once hooked on cocaine, says that his surname is frequently a burden to him

***Krauthammer on Obama: The case against re-election. Pay attention, people. This is serious.

A Psalm of Life

by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

What the Heart of the Young Man Said to the Psalmist
Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
   "Life is but an empty dream!"
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
   And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
   And the grave is not its goal;
"Dust thou art, to dust returnest,"
   Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
   Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each to-morrow
   Finds us farther than to-day.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
   And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
   Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
   In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
   Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
   Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act,--act in the living Present!
   Heart within, and God o'erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
   We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
   Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
   Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
   Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
   With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing
   Learn to labor and to wait.

***Gorgeous...

***Have a great day!

  1. Remember: Obama STOLE the companies who gave AGAINST him. He's setting the stage to seize the companies who give to Mitt in 2012 the way GM and Chrysler were punished for top level executives (and family) giving a COMBINED $6,700 four years ago (GM Wagoner $2,100 Chrysler Nardelli $2,300 and his wife the same).

    Liberals destroyed the American auto industry with CAFE in an attempt to socially engineer automakers to make the type of cars they demand (re: tiny cars) in 1975, and the 2007 CAFE (veto-proof supermajority) when Pelosi and Reid celebrated by driving a Toyota Prius to celebrate.

    And Ford's current line of cars are mostly from Mazda or Geely (that is, a Chinese automaker) lines.

    Democrats hated SUV's, they passed laws to force us into tiny cars. And the truth is there -- Obama is the anti-The Seasons (Haydn).
