***Oh Puh-Leeze - sobbing woman at Obama campaign stop just happens to be Obama's #1 fan.

***President Obama suggests that Fox News be turned off in a pub he was visiting. Kinda tells me a lot, how about you? If I watch the news, that is the ONLY channel I can stand.

***Lifeguard who was fired for saving a drowning man "outside his jurisdiction" was offered his job back, but declined. Good for him. What a stupid rule.

***Buy a Jeep, support the troops.

Jeep may no longer be serving on the front lines, but now it has a truck that supports the troops back home.
With every purchase of the new Wrangler Freedom the automaker will donate $250 to military charities.
The special edition Wrangler comes in two or four-door Unlimited models and is available in either red, white or True Blue. It features military-inspired stars on the hood and sides, along with badges on the front fenders that read “Oscar Mike,” which is military-speak for “On the move.”

***I learned a lesson on the 4th - well, it's a lesson I already knew, but don't always practice. First impressions aren't always accurate. We were at our annual family July 4 celebration and there were some relatives there from Mark's side of the family that I hadn't met yet. One of them was a young man with tattoos all over him, a mohawk, and worst of all, those awful big hole thingies in his earlobes. First impression: Thug. You know what, though? As I talked to him throughout the evening, I found that he was courteous, attentive to his baby daughter, and just generally pleasant to be around. Note to self: Watch that pre-judging thing.

The letter -- itself a response to another opinion piece in the newspaper justifying Christians' rights to refuse to vote for Romney because he is a Mormon -- identifies Mrs. Pitt as "a Christian [who differs] with the Mormon religion."

But, Pitt continues, "any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon."

Pitt writes that "any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage."

I like it!
