I also think it’s interesting to compare and contrast Obama with Romney at approximately the same age. They were almost opposites. Obama was still searching for a father and an identity; Romney had an unusually strong dose of both. Obama was drifting; Romney was a family man who already was married with children and focused on his future (Romney married at 22 and became a father at 23). Obama smoked and drank, and more; Romney was a teetotaler and non-smoker. And yet they both were the products of similar educations: private prep schools and Harvard Law (and in Romney’s case, Harvard Business as well).
***If you haven't seen "The Life of Julia," check it out. This is pathetic. The Democrats and Obama want you dependent on the government from the cradle to the grave. Unfortunately, we have created a nation of moochers who expect Daddy Government to take care of them rather than taking care of themselves.
Here's Rich Lowry's take, "A Nation of Julias."
***School says "Jesus" shirt is hate speech. Quite a message you're sending there.
A Canadian high school student was suspended for a week because wore a t-shirt promoting his Christian beliefs and he was told if he wears it again – he could be suspended for the remainder of the school year.
William Swinimer, a student at Forest Heights Community School in Nova Scotia, was punished for wearing a shirt that read, “Life is wasted without Jesus.” The shirt is a reference to a passage of Scripture from the New Testament.
***Ironic: The National Christmas Tree has died.
There are so many lines here, one wonders where to start...
Just 14 months after it was planted in front of the White House, the National Christmas Tree has died.Does the gluten-free diet really work?
The tree, a Colorado blue spruce, died from "complications resulting from transplant shock," the National Park Service said, according to msnbc.com.
It was planted on the Ellipse near the president's residence a little over a year ago -- having been grown in New Jersey -- to replace a tree that had served as America's Christmas tree for 33 years before succumbing to a storm.

***Back from Iraq: A Readjustment Story.
Most wives aren't sure what to expect when their husbands return from their first tour to a combat zone. On the contrary, after hours of reading military-related magazines, books and Web sites, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what might happen when James, my husband, returned from 15 months in Iraq.
I'd read the story of a husband who felt his wife didn't understand what he'd been through in combat; he regularly held "conversations" with his dead comrades while sitting on a stump in his backyard. I read another story of a husband who would "check the perimeter" of his property on a regular basis, withdraw completely from family life and look for ways to kill himself at every turn.
So when my husband asked me to pick up two 12-packs of beer shortly before his homecoming, I was more than worried. I wondered how fast the beer would disappear and fretted about his family's history of alcoholism.
Interesting story, read the whole thing. That's an order! :-)
***Occupy Violence. Yeah, they're just like the Tea Partiers, right CNN?
The Occupy movement has a horrific record of violence. Occupy Wall Street Exposed has counted a dozen deaths, including three murders; more than a dozen rapes; more than 25 disgusting cases of indecent exposure, public defecation, etc; more than 500 thefts; more than 6,800 arrests; and in excess of $12 million in property damage. A sorry record by any standard.
