***Geez, seems like March only lasted three or four days...

***Shout out to Myra, my sister, the Plant Whisperer: Glenn Reynolds, avid gardener, recommends "The Backyard Orchardist."

***Top Obama re-election campaign donor accused of fraud. Imagine, just imagine, the coverage if this were George W. Bush, or any other Republican.

A major donor to President Barack Obama has been accused of defrauding a businessman and impersonating a bank official, creating new headaches for Obama's re-election campaign as it deals with the questionable history of another top supporter.

While it's true that a candidate has little control over the business dealings of all of its donors, this kind of behavior has become a pattern in the friends of this President. Kinda makes you wonder about his choice of friends. Remember Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, et al?

***They're spinnin' as best they can: Democrats are thinking the individual mandate, if not the entire Obamacare bill, will be struck down in the Supreme Court. Therefore, they're trying to spin it as if it's no big deal. Uh huh.

Former Democratic Party chief Howard Dean said Sunday that the so-called individual mandate is "not really necessary" to the federal health care overhaul, and said a Supreme Court decision to invalidate the provision could end up helping President Obama

Right, keep tellin' yourself that. His crowning achievement, the big ****** deal according to Joe Biden, is struck down as unconstitutional and it could end up helping him? Talk about twisted logic.

***This is interesting - evangelical explorers (never heard that term!) in Turkey claim they've found the remains of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat. Wouldn't THAT be something??

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say wooden remains they have discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey are the remains of Noah's Ark.
The group claims that carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old, meaning they date to around the same time the ark was said to be afloat. Mt. Ararat has long been suspected as the final resting place of the craft by evangelicals and literalists hoping to validate biblical stories.
Yeung Wing-Cheung, from the Noah's Ark Ministries International research team that made the discovery, said: "It's not 100 percent that it is Noah's Ark, but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it."

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. You always have to take stories like this with a grain of salt until some proof is provided.

The Democrats continue to try to make political hay out of the Trayvon Martin case. The Hill reports that House Democrats–all members of the Congressional Black Caucus–are proposing a package of legislative “reforms” arising out of the Martin case:
In the wake of the slaying of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, House Democrats are drafting legislation designed to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
Actually, there are plenty of laws in every state to deter and punish murder and manslaughter, if that is, in fact, what happened in the Martin case. Such statutes are a matter of state, not federal, law. What Congressional Democrats are now doing has nothing to do with law enforcement, and everything to do with stirring up their party’s base for this year’s elections.

It's sickening how they're exploiting the death of this young man. No matter what the circumstances, they've made a circus out of the whole situation.

***DUmmie FUnnies thread about Keith Olbermann being fired from Current TV. There's some funny stuff there...

***My friend Rebekah loaned me a book; "How to Ruin the United States of America" by Ben Stein and Phil DeMuth. This is gonna be a good one! From the inside cover:

[...] some surefire ways to ruin the greatest nation in the history of the human race:

*Trust the United Nations to protect us and our security.

*Make it unlawful to worship God or even to show images of the Ten Commandments.

*Convert our universities into fortresses of anti-Americanism, hatred of freedom, and centers of confusion and ignorance.

*Allow Hollywood to brainwash us into believing that only suckers and criminals fight for their country.

Any of that sound familiar? I'm looking forward to reading this one!

As from the house your mother sees
You playing round the garden trees,
So you may see, if you will look
Through the windows of this book,
Another child, far, far away,
And in another garden, play.
But do not think you can at all,
By knocking on the window, call
That child to hear you. He intent
Is all on his play-business bent.
He does not hear, he will not look,
Nor yet be lured out of this book.
For, long ago, the truth to say,
He has grown up and gone away,
And it is but a child of air
That lingers in the garden there

Robert Louis Stevenson

A dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest.
~Robert Montgomery
