Shoppin'

***Yeah, that's what I've been doing online this morning rather than working...I'll have to pay for THAT for the rest of the day!

***If you've never tried food from Schwan's, you're missing out. Some of their stuff is a little pricey, but it's ALL good!

***It's not up to you to decide, Mr. President. At least, it's not supposed to be. What a person earns, if he does it honestly and within the law, is none of the federal government's business. Unfortunately, Obama and the Democrats do not agree with that sentiment - provided, of course, that they are exempt.

***Well, the Supreme Court got this one right. It's amazing to me that in this country, displaying a cross on public grounds to honor those who died in service to their country could cause such a stir.

***Herein lies the root of much of America's problems. The single mother of 12 kids thinks the county and state are not doing enough to help her. Um, honey? First thing you need to do is tie your legs together. It's not up to us to take care of your kids. Too many Americans have this same mentality. I'll make a mess of my life, and everyone else needs to clean it up.

Gonna Be a Great Day!

***Sunny & 70s today. Unfortunately, I'll be in front of my computer for most of it, but I'll get out for a walk and/or a bike ride here and there. Not complaining, I'm glad for the work!

***This can't possibly be true. All of the hatred and fearmongering is on the Right, right?

***This is an awesome organization! I just read about it this morning. It's called Veterans Airlift Command, and they help wounded soldiers get to their families.

***If this wasn't so pathetic, it would be comical. More here. Don't look now, but I think the two 70 year old ladies were about to ignite their explosive vests. Thank goodness the Keystone Cops were there!

***One wonders what failure looks like to this guy.

***Come on, guys. You've been sticking together so well, why cave on this??

***Here are some good articles on healthy eating, exercise, etc.

***Went for my checkup yesterday. I'm doing great, down a couple more pounds (but having to fight for every ounce now!), steadily able to cut back on my blood pressure meds as I lose, but unfortunately I have a little arthritis in my shoulder. It has been giving me trouble for a couple of months now. It doesn't hurt while I'm working out, though, except for with the free weight sometimes...so I usually mostly use the machines. Oh well, guess that goes with being 51! I feel great otherwise.

Oh My Gosh!

***Well, I asked for it and I got it. Boy, am I busy! I'm so happy to be able to keep my typists a little busier. Who doesn't need extra money these days? It's not "extra" any more!

***Obama is a bully, according to this columnist. Obama is arrogant and condescending and just cannot understand why everyone doesn't just bow to his will. How unpresidential to chide your countrymen for allowing their police to uphold the law. He's a piece of work, ain't he?

***Next time you hear someone griping about not spending enough on education in this country, show them this video.

***Imagine, if you will, the outcry if George W. Bush had defied a federal subpoena.

***This is great!

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question. "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?" I replied I had a drug problem when I was young:
  • I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
  • I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
  • I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
  • I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
  • I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity.
  • I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cocklebur's out of dad's fields.
  • I was drug to the homes of family, friends and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, or think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.
God bless the parents who drugged us.

Covered Up

***Tell ya what, business is feast or famine right now! Need to find a happy medium. :-)

***This is must reading. These representatives who made these false charges are a disgrace to their position and their race. Will they be called on it by the mainstream media? Of course not. They're the ones that ran with the story in the first place, with no evidence whatsoever of its accuracy. They are so eager to brand ordinary Americans taking part in the political system as racist and extremist that Carson's and Lewis's accusations were like a gift from heaven. Don't back off. They need to be called on this, loudly and clearly.

***Speaking of hate, rage, and extremism -- no, I"m not talking about tea partiers. Just wait and see if this stuff gets the same coverage as the non-existent "hatred" attributed to the right.

***Y'know, I used to like "House, M.D." The first three seasons were fun to watch, albeit short on morality. House was funny, one of those guys you liked and disliked at the same time.. In the fourth season, when they took on some new characters, I started liking it less. 13 (Dr. Hadley) is bisexual and completely amoral. In the fifth season, they have an episode showing her in bed with another woman, and that's pretty much when I stopped watching.I have tried to watch an episode here and there since then, but it has just gotten worse.  They have turned the show into a soap opera. Too bad, because I really did enjoy the first three seasons. I never watch T.V., I would get them from Netflix and watch them when I had time. I stopped getting them after the fourth season. It seems to be just as popular with most everyone else, though, considering its ratings. Just my two cents' worth!

***John Hinderaker over at Power Line gets it. Obama doesn't. I'm talking about immigration. ***My interview yesterday went very well. I should know by the end of the week if I attained this new client. I sure hope so!

***Really interesting article about Bill Clinton and the Waco incident, and his finger-wagging now at people he disagrees with. That man has absolutely no shame. Fingers & Toes Crossed!

***I have an interview today with a big potential client. Say a little prayer!

***Racism serves a political purpose for the Democrats. That's why they have to make it up when it doesn't exist, i.e., their attacks on the Tea Parties. James Taranto has an excellent piece on this subject, check it out. Here is a great "in a nutshell" blurb in the comment section:

That only 1% of Tea Partiers are Black or Hispanic says nothing at all about the racial attitudes of the rest of the Partiers in an of itself. Indeed, it says far more about Blacks and Hispanics, who appear to have a racially-based political viewpoint. Unless the Tea Party specifically states that Blacks and Hispanics are not welcome, it is not they who are segregating their events, but those who refuse to attend for whatever reason.

As for why liberals keep the issue alive: Because without it, they would have to start delivering on their 50 years worth of promises. As long as they can blame "racist conservatives" for their failure, they never have to actually achieve anything.

Hope is the thing with feathers

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

***Got family coming today for dinner and a movie! Gonna be simple this time, grilled cheese sandwiches and vegetable soup. My sister-in-law loves the Harry Potter series. We have all the movies, so when she finishes one of the books, she comes over and watches the movie that goes along with it. She says the books are the best, but she enjoys the movies. I've only seen the movies and haven't read the books, so I can't compare them. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my favorite!

***James Taranto: Words as Weapons. Great article.

***He's gotta be kidding. [Barack Obama] says he’s been a little amused over the past couple of days when people at the rallies complained about taxes. Quoting the president: “You would think they’d be saying thank you.” Yeah, right. Thank you for blowing up the American economy. It's amazing to me that these people keep trying to convince us that taxes are going anywhere but up. Too bad there are still a lot of chumps in America who believe them. ***Love this quote from Susannah Breslin. I'm not providing a link because there is some pretty nasty language in her blog post, mostly culled from comments about her at feminist blogs in response to her post. However, this blurb is awesome:

“These days, feminism isn’t a movement at all, really, but a collection of blogs obsessed with the pop culture it claims to be victimized by, a forum for women who promote themselves as victims of a patriarchy that no longer exists, a pretend movement that contains within it no forward movement at all, only a fetal-like desire to curl up on itself, muttering Women’s Studies jargon, and handing out trigger warnings like party favors at a girl’s-only slumber party.”

***How unpresidential...and childish. If Barack Obama doesn't think he's being treated with enough deference, he retaliates with an attack on his own countrymen. When you're president, you're going to be criticized...especially when you're as inept as he is. How one responds is very telling.

***This is horrifying. They marry their daughters off at 12 and 13 years old in Yemen. Many of them die.

***Tiger Woods off to a good start in Augusta. You gotta admire his golf game, but I certainly don't admire him as a man any more.

***Newt's right, no doubt about it. Obama is the most radical president *ever*.

***Get involved. Heritage action plan for America.

***Pray for Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl.

Comical

***I'm tellin' ya, this "fashion" fad of teen guys wearing their pants down below their butts is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen! I saw a teenager yesterday swaggering, thinkin' he was the coolest thing in the world, strutting along and holding his pants up with one hand. Honestly, if Emily had brought home someone too stupid to pull his pants up, I would have sent him packing and told her she could do better. I saw another one once who tried to run across the street and almost lost his pants doing so. Yeah, dude, *real* cool looking!

***James Taranto makes a bunch of good points in his latest column.

***Now they want a VAT tax. Grassley is right about this, but it won't stop the Democrats from trying to squeeze more money out of the American people.

***Obamaspeak. Man, this guy is dangerously clueless when it comes to national security.

***Ann Coulter's right, again. Fred Phelps and his followers are certifiable.

***What few are covering. This is sad, really sad. America used to be a haven of freedom and prosperity, but the Obamabots are changing all that. If they can inflict this much damage in less than two years, what do you think the *next* two years will bring?

***From the Boy Scout handbook. This is awesome! I'm so proud of my son for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. No wonder the liberals want to destroy the Boy Scouts, they are their polar opposites. A few excerpts:

When you reach the age of voting citizenship you will know the true meaning of democracy and of liberty and will be able to carry out your duties to your country--obeying its laws, taking your place in the community.
Be a thinking citizen--not a thoughtless one.
Keep yourself informed on the happenings of the day--in your own community, your country, and throughout the world.

***Something else that is never covered by the MSM. Almost half of American households pay no taxes whatsoever

***Yep. Protein in the morning keeps hunger pangs at bay. As a bariatric patient, we are encouraged to eat protein first at every meal.

***Thank God. Charges dropped against two Navy Seals.

***I need to check out Craigslist. It's one of those things I've been meaning to do but haven't gotten around to.

One of Those Days...

***...when I have to start working at 3:00 a.m. because I'm working at the Post Office today. Gotta get everything done before leaving.

***Am I missing something? A bunch of feminists march down the street topless and they're outraged that men stop and look at them? What a bunch of morons!

***Sometimes, Arianna Huffington is just *funny*. The poor woman is pathetic.

***One of Obama's court nominees is less than honest? Oh, say it isn't so!!

***Wanna watch Maxine Waters make a fool of herself? I know, it's a common occurrence, but this time it's caught on tape. Warning, there's a couple of bad words here.

***Check out the Cloward-Piven strategy, and see if it sounds familiar to you.

***Well, THIS is good news. The FCC will not have authority over the Internet. Obama's gonna hate THAT ruling.

***Wow. Send up a prayer for the families of the victims of the WV mine blast.

***This looks like an interesting book, "How Successful People Think."

***Tiger Woods will be accompanied by 90 bodyguards at Augusta. Sheesh, might that be overkill?

***Abolishing Good Friday? This is just sickening.

***This dude better watch his back...

Monsoon!

***Well, we had a serious storm last night! I love thunderstorms, I sat with the door open and listened to it. Okay, so I'm a little weird...

***Well, Butler gave Duke a run for their money! Darn, I wanted them to win!

***Not lookin' good for ya, Democrats.

***The "mainstream" media is starting to find out what we knew all along.

***Wow. The Catholic Church really needs to do some soul-searching here. This guy shouldn't even BE a reverend. He should have been thrown out on his ear for preaching hatred.

***Sometimes, Obama really is unbelievably, bafflingly dumb.

***Oh, to have Reagan back again...

***Our president throws like a girl...

***This is an awesome book, "A Patriot's History of the United States." Get it, you'll enjoy it!

***Crazy quotes. These are cute!

A Real Patriot

***My sister sent me this. Check it out, it's a video of Rick Monday saving the flag from a couple of idiots trying to burn it on a major league playing field. I don't remember this happening, but it's AWESOME. Especially now that the same thing is happening metaphorically in our nation's capitol.

***"You were right about Obama." Check out this anecdote, and the comments that follow.

***This has to scare 'em...

***Coward.

***Great article by Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit.

***Okay, we all know Chris Matthews is a buffoon. But sometimes he outdoes himself.

***There's an interfaith movement afoot. I don't think this is good. How can a Christian worship with a Muslim? The two faiths are mutually exclusive. Sure, we're to love them and try to win them to the truth, but we cannot worship *with* them. That's no different than trying to worship "with" a Wiccan.

***Major earthquakes in California and Nevada. I think that would be terrifying. Thank goodness we don't get those in Indiana.

***Massage eases depression. I know a good foot rub sure improves MY mood!

***Be a voice for life.

Hallelujah!

1Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

~~Luke 24:1-7

***I hope you have a wonderful, blessed Easter today!

***It really is sad what the Democrats have sunk to. Now it's fake racism. That has been happening for a while on their side, but it is *really* blatant now.

***This is what happens when Obama doesn't have his teleprompter.

***Here are some clearance items on clothing at Amazon.com. There are some pretty good buys here. (HT: InstaPundit).

***YESSS!!! Butler beat Michigan State yesterday. I'm so excited for them!

***Baloney.

***
 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

~~Romans 3:23-28

Finally Spring!

***It's offiicial...there are daffodils and tulips all over the place, it's spring! I love this time of year.

***Great blog post on Easter and its meaning for Christians. It ain't about the bunny!

***Obama attacks, Limbaugh responds.

***Prayers for Zeke Rucker and his family. What a nightmare.

***Simple explanation is...it didn't happen.

***Love this! Urologist posts sign asking Obama voters to seek care elsewhere.

***Wow. This kind of stuff is what's happening in our college classrooms.

Great Day!

***We've had a great time so far with our daughter and her husband, who are here from South Carolina. We get to see them a little more today, then they will be heading to Peter's family's home. How blessed we are to have had this time together!

***Abuse of power is what the Democrats are all about. Waxman doesn't want companies to tell the truth about what Obama's policies mean for business. This is intimidation, pure and simple. And...Obama, Pelosi, & Reid are all for it.

***Here is a great article on the smearing of Tea Party protesters. The people writing this stuff are the dangerous ones.

***I disagree with this "let the Democrats win so the country can see how bad they are" mentality. That kind of thinking is what got us into this mess.

***America in the Red.

***25 Soaking Wet Cats. These pictures are hilarious!

They're Comin'!

***Emily & Peter made it safe & sound to Dayton, and they're heading our way today! Gotta work like a bloomin' idiot this morning, then start cooking! It's gonna be a great day.

***I thought this was a joke when I first read it. Sadly, it's not.

***People are really getting it.

***Wouldn't this be awesome?

***CNN "down the middle reporting?" Hardly.

***I'm glad Sarah Palin's new show dropped an interview with LL Cool J. There's not much that can be described as "inspirational" in a rap singer's career, in my opinion.

***Serial murderer sentenced to death. Does this guy look creepy, or what?

***Abraham Lincoln's illustrated Gettysburg Address. Cool!

***Paul Krugman, "Death panels will save a lot of money." Wow.

***Ewwww...
