Cookin' & Cleanin'

***My two least favorite things to do, but I've been doing them since about 5:00 a.m.! Family's coming over for chili this afternoon, and we were helping my mother yesterday so I didn't get anything done in my own house. Thank goodness Mark is willing to help...he's better at housework than I am. Got the chili and brownies made this morning, now all I gotta do is throw a salad and some cornbread together after church.

Workin'

***Story of my life! At the PO this morning, then I'll head to the Wellness Center for a workout. After that, we'll be helping my mom get her house ready to sell. One sure thing about life, it's all about change!

***Box office bomb!

***Hip pocket politics. The American Bar Association is in the Democrats' hip pocket because, among other things, the LAST thing they want to see happen is tort reform. Therefore, stuff like this happens.

***Just adopted another soldier from Soldier's Angels. The one I had is coming home! They let you know when that's happening so you can stop sending to your angel, and get another one if you want. I got a female soldier this time, first time that's happened! This is a great way to show your support.

***Boy, do I miss Ronald Reagan. Sure would be nice to have some character and integrity back in the White House. It sure ain't there now.

Yay Friday!

***I don't know what I'm so excited about, I always work on Saturday. There's just something about Fridays, though. Maybe it's because it's pizza night at our house!

***I couldn't agree more. Green Madness...I am so SICK of being preached to about "going green" in every magazine I pick up. Carbon footprints, sustainability...gimme a break. Most of it is absolute hogwash, intended to instill guilt and soak every last penny of tax money they can from us. I have no problem with trying to save money by turning off the lights when I'm not in the room, but don't tell me I'm going to destroy the planet if I don't.

***Well, that Health Care Summit certainly didn't turn out the way Obama wanted it to, did it? I'm glad the Republicans didn't try to "get along." I think that's what Bam was counting on, and he was shown to be the twit he is.

So Much to Do, So Little Time!

***Back to the PO today, but only for the morning. Then I have some catchin' up to do. I also missed my workout yesterday, I hate that.

***Check this out. The same Democrats who were so vehemently against the "nuclear option" when Republicans were in charge are now singing quite a different tune. What a surprise.

***Robert Gibbs and the rest of the Democrats keep trying to say that the Republicans "have no plan for health care," when they actually have had a plan up on their web site since October. Here are some links. They really have a lot of contempt for the American people. They think we're all stupid, or at least they're counting on fooling enough to get by...like they did in November 2008.

Lots Going On...

***Have to work at the Post Office today, so I'm up even earlier than usual to get my work done. Oh well, I'm glad to have work to do!

***This has been a great Olympics for the United States. Here's NBC's official web site. I much prefer the summer Olympics, but this one certainly has had its share of great moments.

***The sooner the better.

***This is interesting. An archaeologist has unearthed a wall which she thinks was built by Solomon.

***This is just sad. Whitney Houston was an amazingly talented singer, but apparently it's just not there any more.

***Of course it will be ineffective. I think that's the point in Obama's twisted mind. Make as many people as possible dependent on the government. It's the liberal/socialist way.

Howdy!

***Well, here we go! Another week. I have a lot to do today. First I'm going to go swim laps at 6:00 a.m., then I have quite a bit of transcription to do. I have to go to Wright State today to get some college business done later, too.

***He just doesn't seem to get it, or doesn't care, that Americans do not want his health care boondoggle. He just keeps pushing it, and look what it's doing to his approval rating. In his arrogance, he thinks he knows what's best for us better than we do.

Catchin' Up!

***Howdy! I usually do this before I head out to church, but I didn't get 'er done this morning. It's raining here in Indiana, but I welcome that because it's above freezing for the first time in weeks. I'm hoping the sun peeks out a little later so I can go outside for a walk.

***This kinda surprises me. Ron Paul won the straw poll at CPAC. I like some of what he says, but I think he's a little nutty with some of his views, especially when it comes to our national defense. He certainly is not presidential material.

***Spaniards are reaping what they've sown. They voted for socialism, they got it. We voted for socialism in 2008, too, but hopefully in November we will begin to right that tremendous, awful mistake.

Working Too Hard!

***Wow, my muscles are talking to me today! I went to the Wellness Center last night and had a good workout on the weight machines. Did my aerobic exercise earlier in the afternoon, I actually took a walk outside! It was only 29 degrees, but the sun was trying to shine, the roads were pretty well cleared, so I took advantage of it. I am in so much better shape than I was last fall, which is the last time I walked outside. I could only do 20 minutes then, and that wasn't easy. Since I've been "seriously" exercising (mid-November 2009), I am so much stronger! I walked fast for 35 minutes yesterday, and could easily have gone longer. What a difference! I'm sore today, but I'm going to the pool in a little while to lap swim anyway!

Pain!

***I've been working out a lot, and I've strained my rotator cuff. Man, that hurts! I'm not used to having an injury. I've just been working out whether it's sore or not. The school where the Wellness Center is is delayed two hours this morning, though, so I won't be going until tonight. That'll give it a few more hours, which is good because it is REALLY sore this morning. I might just do the bicycle and some leg work to give it a rest.

***Here is an online petition sponsored by the American Grassroots Coalition in protest of the health care boondoggle Congress is wanting to ram down our throats.

***John Brennan is a *nightmare*. It's hard to believe this guy is one of the people in charge of our national security. God help us.

Sea of White

***Yep, more snow. I think it has pretty much stopped now. The street crews have done a really good job of keeping the roads open around here, so kudos to them!

***I overslept this morning. Didn't set the alarm clock and woke up two hours after I had planned to. Darnit. I'm missing my lap swim this morning, so I guess I'll go and do it at noon. It really messes up my schedule when I do that!

***Biden makes a fool of himself, yet again.

***SWEET!

***Check out Michael Yon's military blog. Some of the pictures will really tug at your heart.

We're Gonna Get It Again...

***We have another winter storm warning for the whole day here in Indiana. So far it hasn't done much, so I'm hoping it misses us! I hate to complain, but I'm *real* tired of snow!

***No matter that the majority of Americans are against what the Democrats are trying to do with health care. There are many who think this monstrosity of a bill should be rammed down our throats anyway. After all, they know what's best for us, right?

***This is hilarious! The best line:
Peters: "This is crazy, here's Biden saying Cheney can't re-write history and my god, Biden just claimed that Iraq is gonna be one of Obama's great achievements, if that's not re-writing history, I don't know what is but at the end of the day, it doesn't pay too get wired up about anything the Vice President says, Joe Biden, he's a decent guy but he's all gunpowder, no bullets. He's like the crazy uncle in the family that sits around the holiday dinner table and always says something wacky and the rest of the family just rolls their eyes and keeps eating, you gotta kinda treat it like that"

Heppy Valentine's Day!

***Be sure and let your loved ones know you love 'em!

***We have a Secret Sister program at our church and it's so much fun! One person (me) started it and got information from everyone who wanted to participate, then randomly paired them up. We will spend the year encouraging one another (hopefully keeping our identities secret). It's a lot of fun, and sometimes challenging not to give ourselves away! I went very early this morning and put my gift to my SS on the chair where she always sits (we're Baptists, we have "our" pews!). Can't wait to watch her open it!

***1 Corinthians 13 (King James Version)
1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Saturday Mornin'

***Getting ready to jump into the shower and head to the Post Office. After that I'm going to go work out, then who knows? My son came home last night, must have been late because it was after I went to bed and I sure didn't hear him. Always nice to have him here!

Interesting Choice of Words

***The President is now "agnostic" in terms of whether to raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.00. He unequivocally denied he would do any such thing when on the campaign trail. We're quite used to this kind of about-face by Obama by now, aren't we? Victor Davis Hanson sums it up.

Back in the Groove

***Well, we got a little more snow, but not what they were predicting - thank goodness! I've seen enough white to last me for a while. Of course, we certainly haven't had the problems that people in the DC area are having. Sheesh!

***Oh, here's a surprise. Democrats are just the picture of ethics, aren't they?

Good Morning!

***Whoa, what a day yesterday! Took me over an hour to get to the Post Office, and it's only about 10 miles away. We had snow out the wazoo. Good thing I had the Jeep, or I would never have made it through the snow drifts. The street department has done a really good job of clearing it, though.

***Had a great dinner with the family yesterday. I made "man-loaf," a variation of meat loaf, glazed carrots, and roasted potatoes. Good stuff!

Pooped Out!

***I don't know what's with me this morning. Didn't get up until 5:15, sheesh! Fortunately, (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), I'm not swamped with work so I'll be able to get everything done still. We're supposed to be getting a boatload of snow and ice, but nothing has fallen yet. Maybe we'll luck out!

In A Nutshell

***Rush pretty much sums it up:
"The choice is between the death of America and America's survival. That's what we face with Barack Obama. Decline and collapse or growth and success"

***Howdy all! I'm going to work for a while, then head to the pool to lap swim. I can tell such a difference already, after 2 1/2 weeks of swimming, in my strength when I'm at the gym. Especially the butterfly presses, which I hate. They were much easier yesterday when I did them. Progress!
