Good Sunday!

***Happy Sunday to all! I didn't do any transcription yesterday, so today when I get home from church...after fixing steaks for Mark & John...I will be chained to my computer.

As Expected

***I've been reading over in The Corner on NRO the responses to Obama's speech. Petulant, scolding, unpresidential, condescending, arrogant...these are some of the adjectives used. I'm not surprised. Obama is whining because everyone isn't genuflecting to His Worship as they should. He believed the media during his campaign. His arrogance and INEXPERIENCE is coming home to roost. Unfortunately, it is America who has to pay for it.

***From Randy Barnett, Professor at Georgetown University Law Center:

In the history of the State of the Union has any President ever called out the Supreme Court by name, and egged on the Congress to jeer a Supreme Court decision, while the Justices were seated politely before him surrounded by hundreds Congressmen? To call upon the Congress to countermand (somehow) by statute a constitutional decision, indeed a decision applying the First Amendment? What can this possibly accomplish besides alienating Justice Kennedy who wrote the opinion being attacked. Contrary to what we heard during the last administration, the Court may certainly be the object of presidential criticism without posing any threat to its independence. But this was a truly shocking lack of decorum and disrespect towards the Supreme Court for which an apology is in order. A new tone indeed.
Yeah, well, this is the kind of thing we've come to expect from Barack Obama. What we do NOT expect, is an apology.

A Musical Theme...

***I was trying to think of a musical theme for Obama. At first, I was thinking of Darth Vader's music, "The Imperial March," but he's not nearly that, er, majestic or intimidating.  Not even a year ago when he was riding so much enthusiasm. The evil part is there, but that music is just too good for him. Let's see...how about the theme from "Jaws?" Naaaa...again, too menacing, especially now that Obama is being rendered toothless. Let's see, we need something dark and a bit sinister, but also a little, I don't know, comical? James Bond theme? No. Mission Impossible? Definitely not. The name works, though... I'VE GOT IT! They need to play that when he comes out instead of "Hail to the Chief."

Early Today!

***Late yesterday, early today! I woke up about 2:00 a.m. and that was it, couldn't go back to sleep. We're having family over for dinner and I'm doing a crock pot recipe that takes 10 hours, so I was gonna get up early anyway, but not THAT early.

***Johnny's home! I love it when I go past his room and he's in there.

***Victory in Iraq. You won't hear much about this from the lamestream media. Thanks to the leadership of George W. Bush, we're outta there and they're taking care of themselves.

***Amen, Ann!

***Honestly, does this really surprise anyone? It just irritated me to no end to see people praising and oohing and aahing over Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie adopting these poor little kids, how wonderful it was, how they were such caring and compassionate human beings...you know, like they were going to raise them themselves and give them a stable, loving home. Uh huh. Those kids were virtually guaranteed a broken home. People like Pitt and Jolie are far too full of themselves to make a commitment like marriage work.

OH YEAH, SINCE JAN. 2009!!

***Miss Bush yet?

***Here is a blog written by that most rare of creatures, a Hollywood Republican.

***I missed my workout this morning! I didn't set my alarm because I always wake up around 4:00 or 4:30 a.m., but this morning it was 6:40! Sheesh, the gym I go to is in the high school and the morning hours are only 6:00-7:30. I started lap swimming yesterday and it really kicked my butt, I guess I was more tired than I thought. Oh well, I'll either swim again today, or go to the gym tonight. I usually don't go at night because it's so much more crowded, but that's okay. Gotta stay in the habit or we all know what will happen, right? Once you get out of a habit, it's hard to get back into it.

***This would be just awesome! Mike Pence is my congressman, and is a real conservative. I'd love to see him knock Sen. Evan Bayh off his throne. Honestly, Bayh used to be okay, for a Democrat. When he was governor he wasn't a far left kook. Since being in Washington, though, he has allowed them to change him. Now he's a lock-step Democrat. Sad to see. Oh, his web site looks and sounds good...more jobs, lower national debt, etc. But his VOTES do not reflect anything you see there.

***Mind your own business, Michelle! Aren't there more important things to be concerned about? Let parents take care of their children.

***This would be awesome!!

***Scott Brown's victory speech was great, but I especially loved this part:
And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation - they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. Today's the Day!

***The impossible could very well happen today...a Republican taking over the seat vacated by Ted Kennedy. No doubt the press will spin it as not meaning anything, but anyone with a brain knows better. This is a direct result of the Democrats' power grabbing, freedom stealing policies. They will ignore the voice of the people and continue as usual, of course, but without that 60th vote in the Senate, it will be harder. Let us hope and pray that the Democrats don't find a way to steal this one, too.

***Like I said...the Republicans better be on their guard today.

***Bible inscriptions on rifle sights? Cool! No doubt this will raise the ire of Anti-Christian Liberties United (ACLU).

Another Week!

***Hi everyone! I have to hustle today, I didn't type all weekend! That is a first, I think. I can catch up today, but still, that's really unusual for me! Business is down a bit, unfortunately. I'm still working on obtaining some new clients.

***Ya think? This is an article over some "buyer's remorse" regarding Barack Obama. I have to point out, though, a particularly disturbing snippet from this article.

But the retired Chrysler assembly line supervisor is most disappointed in the American people.
"The evil, angry, hostile display of immature American dialogue over the past few months is setting a bad example for our youth," Lewis, 63, wrote to the Kokomo (Ind.) Tribune last fall, at the height of the "Tea Party" protests. "Blatant anger is not of God."
Honey, where were you during Bush's presidency? Were you completely numb to the vile, putrid attacks on George W. Bush coming from the Left? Was THAT of God? Sure people are angry now, they're angry that their president is bent on taking away their freedom bit by bit. The anger at Bush was pure, unadulterated hatred. There's a difference, and you need to wake up from your coma. Don't tell me anything Obama does is "of God." If you want to be "of God," stop blindly supporting a man who lies to the American people every time he opens his mouth, and is in favor of the killing of unborn AND newly born babies. Get a clue, sweetheart.

***Okay, I'll stop ranting now. Well, maybe just a little more. I just get so irritated when I read stories about how surprised people are at how Obama is governing. All they had to to was pay attention. They had the same access to information as I did, and that others who tried to warn about him. He's a socialist. His daddy was a socialist, his preacher is a NUT socialist, his associates are socialists, he had the most liberal record (albeit a short one) in the Senate. Hello??

***Thoughts and prayers for Haiti.

***Here's a site with photos of gorgeous Irish castles. I'd love to go over there someday and tour these places.

Today's the Day!

***I spent a busy day yesterday transcribing, cleaning, shopping, cooking, decorating, etc.etc.etc. My table's going to look so nice! Since I have very little in the way of creativity, it's a struggle for me to try to do something unusual and pretty. I really have to stop and take the time to learn how to embed photos here in my blog. I'd love to show you my table! I even made the centerpiece!

***Junk food makeovers.

***I'd love to have one of these! Ain't gonna happen, of course. I'm going to add lap swimming to my fitness regimen starting next week. I've been going every other day and doing 20 minutes of cardio on either the treadmill or the bike, then about 20 minutes on the weight machines. My weight is still being stubborn, so I'm going to add swimming on the off days. Hopefully that will get me started again! I'm getting very frustrated.

Books Galore!

***My goodness, cleaning all the storage nooks and crannies in my family room showed me how many books I have that I haven't read yet! I think I could go for 5 years without buying another book and still not be caught up! Right now, I'm reading Stephen King's newest one, "Under the Dome." To be honest, I'm not all that impressed yet and I'm nearly halfway through it. King's leftist bent and his obvious dislike for Christians is pretty disturbing, and is getting a bit old. This will probably be my last Stephen King novel.

***Okay, my hopes are really UP regarding Scott Brown's chances in Massachusetts! Maybe we can stop this health care "reform" debacle after all.

***Whoa. No wonder Obama likes her. The woman's stupid, and a liberal. But I repeat myself.

***Only 39% would vote for Barack Obama today. What are THEY thinking?

***This article got me to thinking about my husband's carpet cleaning business, Premium Carpet Care. He really should have a web site, I mean, all the "big guys" do. That's something I need to work on. My problem is TIME. Well, and know-how. I'm not a computer geek, by any means, but I know there are places that will help set up a site, much as blogger.com makes it easy to set up a blog. I really need to look into that.

***Tragedy in Haiti. Keep them in your prayers.

***Obama has "strengthened" America? In what conceivable way?

***Well, of COURSE not. Wonder if Michelle Obama would be saying the same thing if, say, Mitch McConnell would have uttered those immortal words? That, of course, is a rhetorical question. We all know the answer.

Too Close!

***I'm excited, and ambivalent, about Scott Brown and how close he is to winning the seat held by Ted Kennedy in Massachusetts. Excited because a Republican win in Massachusetts would be absolutely horrifying to the Democrats, but ambivalent because if it's this close, the Democrats will try to steal the election, just as they stole the seat which Al freakin' Franken holds now.

***"Horrible woman." I couldn't agree more.

***So, what's on your agenda today? Me? I have to work all day at the Post Office, so I'm up early to try and get my transcription done first. You know, the usual! I'm off Thursday and Friday, so I'll spend that time getting ready for company Saturday. I love having company!

Monday Musings

***Hey there, how was your weekend? Mine was great! Got a lot done in my house, which is certainly a plus. We ordered a new dining room table and chairs which will be here this Friday, so we're doing a lot of cleaning and rearranging. Can't wait to get it!

***Near media blackout. If a Republican had uttered the words that Harry Reid did regarding Barack Obama, the firestorm would burn for months. There would be no end to the cries of RACIST! RESIGN! STEP DOWN! But, since Reid's a Democrat, all is well. You'll barely hear another peep about this. Yeah, they're gonna treat it just like George Allen's utterance of the word "macaca," even though that's not even a word. The press ran with it, though, and it resulted in a good man being defeated by a jerk. That happened a lot in the last go-round.

Dreamin' of South Carolina

***Hello, all! I didn't do much in the way of transcription over the weekend, so today I'll have to make up for that. Business is a little slow right now, darnit, so I will also be taking some time to check out Monster.com and send out some resumes. Need to pick up a couple more clients. ***This kind of thing is counterproductive and stupid, in my opinion. It was stupid when it was done to Sarah Palin, and it's equally stupid to do it to Barack Obama. Come on, people, protest with your pens, your voices, and your votes. Don't stoop to the liberals' level.

***So much for global warming...

***This has helped me! I seem to be more committed to exercise if I have to pay for it! When I say I'll do it at home, it seems that a million things come up to prevent me from doing it. My own fault, I know! I have been faithfully going to the Wellness Center every other day, unless there's a holiday or I have to work, something I can't help. I've been doing that for about a month and a half, so now it has become habit. It helps that they open at 6:00. I'm up very early anyway, and I go early and get it done before anything else can get in the way.

Brrrr...

***Man, it's cold in Indiana! Sometimes it would be nice if global warming wasn't a hoax!

***Wow, just found this recipe for crunchy French toast. It would put me in a carb coma, but my husband will love it!

***Yet another Obama nominee with questionable integrity. Does he know ANYONE who's honest?

***Carpe diem!

***I'm singing in church today, so I'm nervous! I always get nervous, no matter how many times I do it. I'm doing a Casting Crowns song, "While You Were Sleeping."

***Johnny went back to Wright State last night. It was nice having him home. They get a really long winter break, from Thanksgiving until after New Year's. Now the nest is empty again!

Back At It!

***I spent my holiday yesterday taking my Christmas stuff down, straightening the house, etc. Still lots more to do, but I got a good start. The outside lights are going to have to wait, it's too dang cold to mess with them right now.

***This "Cornhusker Kickback" is disgusting. Even more disgusting is the obviously lying Ben Nelson.

***Underreported stories of 2009.

***Rush is fine!

***I love the Everyday Heroes section of Reader's Digest. There are some great stories here about ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Happy New Year!

***Well, it's 2010. I wish for you a prosperous, happy New Year. The prosperous part is being attacked by the Obama Administration, so let's hope we can overcome that, and STOP it in November by taking away the Democrat majority. That's the only way to turn this around.

***Here are National Review's 2010 predictions.

***The Democrats have managed to trash a successful school voucher program. Payback for the NEA?

***Small startup doing great...this is still America!

***I'm taking my Christmas decorations down today...I'm over it! It sure is a whole lot more fun to put up than it is to take down...

***Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.  ~Dwight D. Eisenhower
