Sayin' a Prayer...

***Emily & Peter are in W. Virginia now, on their way here from South Carolina. She just texted me that they have been stuck in traffic for an hour. Say a little prayer for their safety!

Here We Go

***Another week. We had kind of an ugly weekend here in Indiana, I hope spring springs this week! I am SO ready.

***Michael Yon posted some really neat pictures from Afghanistan on his blog. Check them out.

***What bounce? This is, of course, the only reason he went to Afghanistan. He needs a bounce in his approval rating. It certainly isn't out of respect or concern for the troops. He has proven that time and again.

Taking a Breather

***Okay, I promise to be a bit more upbeat today. This has been a downer of a week, what with last Sunday's vote and all, but I'd like for my blog to be an encouragement rather than a constant bearer of bad news.

***Words of encouragement from Doctor Zero, "Time to be Amazing Again."

***Can America be saved? I want to post an excerpt from a Bible study by Richard Jordan on this subject:

While the Body of Christ can and should be a restrainer of evil, we must recognize that we are not going to change the course of this world. Too often we have forgotten--if we have known at all--what the Bible actually says about the society in which we live:

" time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience" (Eph. 2:2).
"Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God..." (I Cor. 2:12).
"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom THE WORLD IS CRUCIFIED UNTO ME, AND I UNTO THE WORLD" (Gal. 6:14).

The Body of Christ is not here to reform the world system, solve the problems facing society, inaugurate social justice, etc. While true believers can and should have a powerful impact for good wherever they are, we are not going to improve the world system about us. In fact, part of our task is to testify to the fact that the world is not going to be made acceptable to God but rather as the age progresses will grow worse, morally and spiritually, until Christ comes to put down man’s rebellion and establish His reign.

Classless Clown

***I'm speaking of Joe Biden. Unbelievable that this dunce is Vice President of the United States. Way to keep it classy, Joe.

***It's a shame, but we're now subjects, not citizens, in the age of Obama.

***My sentiments EXACTLY:

The more time I have to reflect on what happened to this country over the weekend, the more upset I become with the American people. From the beginning of his campaign, Barack Obama pushed for his version of government healthcare reform. This concept was not new to his administration once he was elected. People knew what they were getting themselves into. The fact is that they really didn't give a flying flip. All they cared about what that he was "cool" and had a "hot bod" and, for some, because of the color of his skin. If you asked the average Obama supporter what his position was on healthcare, I bet you dollars to doughnuts that they could not tell you. But they voted for him anyway. And now look what we have gotten. You wanted "change" but you couldn't tell me what he wanted to "change." Now you know. I hope you are happy. You took a man with no executive experience - a man with an expressed dislike for the free enterprise system - a man with a clear radical background - a man who gravitated toward Marxist mentors throughout his life --- and you made him president of The United States. Happy? Hope so. Your ancestors will curse your name for what you have done.
I've been saying this since the day after the election. There were too many willfully ignorant people ignoring what those of us who bothered to inform ourselves knew. Now we all have to live with it.

Dark Day

***It's going to be hard for me to be cheery and happy today after what the House did last night. Our Republic is now sprinting toward socialism. When they take over health care, they take over a huge chunk of our lives, and a lot of our freedom. Which is, of course, exactly what they want.

That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.
Love ’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.

***I'm going to take the test Tuedsay to be a Census taker. It's a temporary position that pays $12.50 an hour. Every little bit helps!

***This is interesting...Paul over at PowerLine lists some "controversial propositions." Some I agree with, like this one:
* The title of world's greatest man has bounced back and forth between England and the U.S. for a while now: last half of the 18th century, George Washington; first half of the 19th century, the Duke of Wellington; second half of the 19th century, Abraham Lincoln; first half of the 20th century, Winston Churchill; second half of the 20th century, Ronald Reagan. But I very much doubt that the pattern will continue.
Then again, I disagree with some, like this one:
* The smartest person whom most Americans see on a regular basis is Simon Cowell.
Check 'em out and see what you think.

Hi Ho, Hi Ho...

***Yep, gotta work at the PO this morning...then I'll be hitting Meijer and spending wads of money because we're having a big family dinner here tomorrow for Mark's birthday. Seems like we're doing that a lot lately, eh?

***These are the kinds of people Barack Obama wants sitting in judges' chairs across the country. Read it carefully, especially this part:

Before becoming a judge, he belonged to the Republican National Lawyers' Association and the National Legal Center for the Public Interest, whose mission is to promote (among other things) ``free enterprise,'' ``private ownership of property,'' and ``limited government.'' These are code words for an ideological agenda hostile to environmental, workplace, and consumer protections.
That was written by Goodwin Liu, Obama's nominee to the 9th Circuit Court, about John Roberts when he was nominated by George W. Bush, and whose shoelaces he isn't fit to tie, by the way.  Isn't it telling how Obama picks a man hostile to "free enterprise," "private ownership of property," and "limited government."

***Unions are a scourge on this country.

***Check out this book, "A Patriot's History of the United States." It's really good, I have it.

***Check out Bold, Brave, Courageous. Here's another way to support our soldiers.

***Does this really surprise anybody? Obama's "science czar" has Communist connections. Knock me over with a feather.

***Good. This guy's a jerk.

***If you need swimwear, this is a great place! Good prices, and they don't charge you an arm and a leg for shipping.

***Rats, I overslept this morning. It's nearly 6:00, and I've usually been up for a couple of hours by now. I hate that.

***Rush sums it up. "We have just been delivered the biggest pile of manure yet with this Obama health care speech. Practically every line is not true." Sadly, that is becoming the norm for this president.

***Yeah, the most ethical Congress ever. Not.

***That's not your job, Mr. President.

***Be a voice for life!

***I'm going to look into our local YMCA to check out their prices. I'm paying quite a bit to go lap swimming at the college pool nearby, need to save some money! I love to start my day out that way, though. Today I'm heading to the Wellness Center for some time on the treadmill and weight machines. I alternate between the two, and I'm REALLY looking forward to getting my bike out of storage and riding that, and sometimes walking, in the SUNSHINE!

***Up early, work for a while, go work out, come back home and work some more! That'll pretty much sum up my day, but that's okay!

***Check this out. No wonder MSNBC's ratings are in the tank, this guy is an absolute idiot. I'd never heard of Dylan Ratigan before seeing this video, and I'll bet I don't hear much about him after this. Then again, he seems to be exactly what MSNBC is looking for.

***Charles Rangel stepping down from his chairmanship? I'll believe it when I see it.

***This is the best article on the weird mentality and absolute nuttiness of the Left I've seen in a long time. The same people who claim to be the caring and compassionate ones do their best to incite hatred and violence against those who disagree with them, namely Tea Party Patriots and conservative Republicans. These nutjobs are the scary ones.

***Mitch Daniels, governor of Indiana, shows that it can be done. Will the Democrats listen? Of course not! They're after power, not health care reform. Never forget that.

***This doesn't surprise me. "Green" fuels are worse for the environment than fossil fuels. Like "health care reform," which is not about health care, environmentalist wackos aren't about the environment. They're about anti-America and anti-capitalism. Check out their groups, you'll see.

***This sounds awesome. I've long been a C.S. Lewis fan.

***Underwater scuba cycling?

***There are some remedies worse than the disease.  ~Publilius Syrus

Wish Me Luck!

***I have an interview this morning, trying to get another client for my business. Wish me luck!

***Oh my God. Global warming wackos make suicide pact over global warming, and shoot their children before killing themselves. But...the media won't blame the over-the-top rhetoric of the enviros and/or Al Gore and his ilk for it. Nope. That's reserved for Republicans, no matter how stupid the insinuation.

***What'd I tell ya? Charlie Rangel won't even get a slap on the wrist.

***We certainly need more in leadership like Tim Pawlenty.

***Fox News is crushing the competition, more now than ever.

***No surprise here. Hollywood is a cesspool, and when it comes to war movies, it has a definite agenda.

***Is it just me, or is there something unseemly about the President betting a case of beer on a hockey game?

***Yikes. Daredevil smashes Harley-Davidson jump record.

***Pure delusion.

***Canadian speedskater Clara Hughes of Canada is donating $10,000 to the Take a Hike Foundation, a program for at-risk youth.

Up & At 'Em!

***I'm up extra early today to get my work done...working at the Post Office later this morning. I want to get my lap swimming in, so I'm going to hit the pool at 6:00 a.m., do my 30 minutes, and try to get to the PO by 7:15. We'll see how that works out!

***This is SO true! We have people who are horrified at the prospect of people smoking in movies or in commercials, but apparently the rampant sex and violence on TV isn't worthy of their scorn. What the heck?

***Panhandler with a Bluetooth headset?

***Does it ever occur to them to just spend less, like the rest of us?

***This is so typical of leftists who call themselves journalists. This example is Frank Rich trying to tie the lunatic who flew his plane into an IRS building to Tea Partiers and Republicans, in spite of the fact that his manifesto is LEFT wing, not right wing. Facts don't matter when you have an agenda.

***Great video of a dog running with a Roman candle as it's going off. This'll start your day with a giggle!

***Prayers for the Osmond family. What a tragedy.

***Nutjob Farrakhan at it again.
