Prayers for Rush

***From Rush Limbaugh's web site: ALERT: Rush was admitted to a Honolulu hospital today and is resting comfortably after suffering chest pains. Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes. He will keep you updated via and on Thursday's radio program.

Our prayers are with you, Rush! We need you now more than ever.

Hump Day

***Howdy, y'all! I didn't get up as early as I wanted to, now I'll be playing catchup all day! Gotta go work out in a little while, then go for my last Christmas get-together with my post office co-workers, then I'll be planted right here for the rest of the day.

Company Comin'!

***Boy, we've had a lot of company in the last two weeks, I love it! Mark's mom, sister, and nephew are coming this afternoon for pizza, Derek (our nephew) has to go back to I.U. (where he works) Tuesday, so we get to see him one more time before he goes. He doesn't get to come home very often because he's so busy with his work, so when we have a chance to be with him, we take it! He's delightful.

***Scary stuff.

The Morning After...

***Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas! We had an absolutely wonderful day. God has blessed my family so richly. There was a "hole" in it, since Emily & Peter are so far away, but we still had a fantastic day. I got lots of wonderful gifts, but the best part was hanging out with family all day.

God Bless Us, Every One

"6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince Of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this" (Isaiah 9:6-7).

Christ is Born!

1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:1-14

Have a holy and blessed Christmas!

***Okay, it's crunch time! If you're not finished shopping, you better get with it! We went stocking stuffer shopping yesterday, that's almost as much fun as buying the big presents. I am done, other than maybe picking up a couple more little things for Mark's stocking. Got a little wrapping to do, but that's fun stuff.

Just About Done...

***One more present to buy, and I'm done. Fortunately, I know what it is, so it's easy! My nephew wants a gift card from Lowe's, can't get any easier than that! I went to the Muncie Mall yesterday to finish up and found some great things! I got Mark's mother a glass nativity scene on an oval mirror that is just beautiful...shoulda got me one, too!

Sad Day

***Well, I was exuberant and happy because of the wonderful time we had with Mark's family yesterday. Everyone was here for dinner and we opened presents with my nephew's fiance, who will be spending Christmas with her family in San Francisco. Then I go to Michelle Malkin's blog this morning and see that the cloture vote on the scam "health care" power grab bill passed. What a sad day for this country, to watch the Democrats dismantling it piece by piece. This is a BIG piece, and why elections matter. Too bad we let Franken steal his Senate seat, otherwise we could have stopped this.

Big Day

***Yep, I'm gonna be baking cookies at 3:30 a.m...I'd be doing it now, at 3:00, but I have to wait for the butter to soften. This just ain't my cup o' tea, but I'll do it for the family! I'm making cream cheese cookies, and they sound divine! I hope I don't mess them up...

Howdy, All!

***I can never think of anything catchy to title my blog posts...

***Today's gonna be Biz-Zee! Got lots of transcription to do (thank goodness), plus I gotta get this house in order before company comes Sunday. I got a lot of Christmas shopping done yesterday and got it all wrapped, I'm so proud! The tree looks a lot better with presents under it. Still have a little to do, but I'm certainly on the home stretch.

***This is just sickening. The Democrats are making a mockery of our political system. It's a mockery that a comedian who stole his Senate seat can tell a veteran Senator to sit down and shut up. Hey, thanks Minnesota!

***These look like fun! I can't really justify buying a netbook because I have a laptop that works just fine, but I'd like to have one just for the fun factor.

***From Neil Boortz:

"You do remember, don't you, President Obama telling the Republicans that they ought to stop using fear tactics to fight ObamaCare? Yeah ... it's only the Republicans that are trying to scare the American people .. and there's plenty to scare them with in this bill.

But what about our "Sort-of-a-God" president? Yesterday he told that nation that if ObamaCare doesn't go bankrupt "the federal government will go bankrupt." That's not trying to scare people?

Thank you so much, idiot voters, for putting this empty suit in the White House. Isn't it wonderful? A community organizer becomes president because he was so cool. Only in America."

***Yep, I still have a little to do. Hopefully I can, um, wrap it up this weekend. Ar ar ar! We're having family over for dinner Sunday, so I'm definitely going to be grocery shopping! We're having barbecuted ribs...fortunately, Mark is really good at cooking those, so I'll let him have at it.

Closin' In...

***Wow, Christmas is only 9 days away. Yikes! I have quite a bit done, but I have more to do so I better get on the stick! I have a sister-in-law in Colorado, so I have to get busy and get hers sent out. I also have a soldier whom I adopted...I've sent his Christmas card, but not his box. That'll probably arrive after Christmas, darnit.

***Figures lie and liars figure.

***Marriage is God's idea.

***I gotta tell you what my husband did last night. Yesterday was our 25th wedding anniversary, and we had agreed that the trip to South Carolina and the meal in the fine restaurant Saturday night would be our gift to each other. He surprised me and took me out to dinner last night, too, at a really nice restaurant here in Richmond. At dessert, the waitress brought Mark's cake, my coffee, and a little package and card. It was a beautiful sentimental card, and the package contained the most beautiful diamond earrings and necklace you ever saw! I was flabbergasted. He had arranged all this beforehand with the staff at Galo's, the Italian restaurant we went to. He went to a lot of trouble to make it a special evening, bless his heart. What a great anniversary!

I'm Baaaack!

***What a great trip! We had a wonderful time in South Carolina. I hated to leave them, but it's good to be home. I certainly have plenty to keep me busy for a while!

***Gonna go back to the gym this morning and work out. I walked a lot over the weekend, but I want to get going again on my weight work. Then it'll be back at the computer for the rest of the day catching up.

***Joe Liebeman isn't being "principled." The bill is bad with or without the public option, and the Democrats will sneak it in there somehow anyway. He seems to love the limelight as much as McCain does. I lost all respect for Lieberman when he was all gung-ho about our efforts in Iraq, but continued to caucus with the Democrats who were doing everything they could to ensure America's defeat, when Bush was in office. Different story now. Bunch of hypocrites. And he's right at the top of the dung heap.

***Culture of corruption. Story after story.

***I got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done in Charleston. They have the neatest open air market where hundreds of booths are set up selling hand-crafted items, and there are lots of other shops right there by it. We will definitely have to go back there the next time we visit them, it would take a week to see them all.

Heading Home

***Well, it's 3:50 a.m. and I'm waiting for the guys to get ready to head home. We said our goodbyes to Emily & Peter last night so we wouldn't have to wake them up in the middle of the night. We have had such a wonderful (but way too short) weekend with them! We probably walked five miles yesterday. They have this great "open air market" here in Charleston with tons and tons of booths and shops, it was heaven! We walked around by the Battery and the beautiful homes, then we ate at Sticky Fingers barbecue. Man, that was good! Then we drove to Folly Beach and walked on the beach and the pier, and watched the surfers. It was really foggy, would have made a great set for a Stephen King movie. Last night we sat around, ate Snickerdoodles, and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I'm already looking forward to coming back next summer!

Howdy All!

***We had an absolutely grand time yesterday! Walked and walked and shopped and shopped! It doesn't get any better than that. What a beautiful city. We had dinner at the Charleston Grill last night, wow! What an elegant place! Very expensive, but quite an experience. Today we're going to do some more shopping and sightseeing, of course. Mark loves the historic district, and those homes are so beautiful! We drove through it yesterday, but will probably walk through it today to get a better look. I'm getting some great pictures! We opened presents last night with Emily & Peter, and then watched "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen. I love that movie! It's gonna be so hard to leave them tomorrow.

***Have a wonderful Sunday!

South Carolina, Baby!

***We're here! Got here last night about 7:00. Man, that's a long drive! Took us about 13 1/2 hours with stops. Beautiful drive, though! Today we're going downtown to shop, look at the beautiful homes, go to the Battery, etc. etc. etc., then tonight we're going to the Charleston Grill for dinner. It is SO wonderful to see Emily & Peter! We get to help them decorate their tree this evening after dinner, then we'll have Christmas with them. It's gonna be REAL hard to leave on Monday! I promise I will learn how to put pictures up here and get that done so I can share them with you! Another update tomorrow morning!

Thursday, December 10, 2009

Three Days and Counting!

***Not that I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter and her husband or anything...

***Did a little Christmas shopping last night, and we're going to do a little more tonight. We want to take at least some of their gifts to South Carolina with us for them to put under their tree. We'll mail the rest. It's gonna be awful not to have her here, but at least we get to spend some pre-Christmas time with them, so I'm thankful for that.

Here We Go Again!

***Another week! Man, Christmas is creepin' up on us, ain't it? I love this time of year, but it sure whizzes by fast. Wish we would get some snow here in Indiana, I'm ready! People around here always look ready to smack me when I say that...

***Good Sunday morning! I've finally defrosted after caroling last night at the park in 24 degree weather...whew! It was fun, though.

***I need to get busy working but the motivation just ain't there this morning! Doesn't matter, though, gotta do it anyway! Funny how the doctors never say, "Oh, you weren't motivated? Oh, well, it's okay that you didn't get my work done, then..."

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

***The decorations around our town seem prettier than usual. A lot of people are decorating their homes, I love to just drive around and look at them. I'm hoping to finish up my Christmas shopping while we're in South Carolina next weekend.

***Howdy all. I'm getting ready to head to the gym to make my muscles ache, then I'll be back here working for most of the day. It's gonna be a busy weekend with Christmas stuff and family birthday stuff and just stuff in general. Lookin' forward to it!

***This is nothing less than larceny by the government. There is absolutely no excuse for the government stealing 45% of anyone's inheritance, I don't care how big it is.

***My daughter really likes Tangerine Dream. It is a very - unusual - musical group. Listen to some of their samples, it's different from anything you've ever heard.

***This sounds interesting. It's a DVD entitled "Does God Exist?" meant to help when speaking to "intellectuals" regarding God, creation, etc. I think I'll check this out.

***So, how's your Christmas shopping coming? I'm actually doing pretty well, I'd say I'm 75% done. We're trying to get most of Emily & Peter's done before we go to SC in a week. They need a washer & dryer and the family is going together to get them a gift card to Best Buy, but of course we want them to have a few things to open on Christmas morning. Man, it's gonna be tough this year here at home without her!

Thursday Update

***Here I am again, at my trusty computer. I'll be spending a good part of my morning here, then this afternoon I have to work at the Post Office. 'The Lamb of God' later made to feel the thorn,
If his words are accepted and not scorned,
They will make us all reborn.

Though God's grace, Joseph and Mary presented
A gift to the world that day, which we can all repay,
by living the ten commandments each and every day.

Try to remember and keep in your heart and mind
Jesus's gospel while here on Earth,
Redemption not a life lived in constant mirth.
Peace on Earth, good will toward man
Everyone should try it, whenever they can.

The Lord gave us the option and choice of 'free will,'
Now it's up to us to fit the bill.

So when you’re Christmas shopping for family and friends,
and money is tight at both ends,
Remember that the greatest gift of all,
Is your love of Jesus in the manger stall.

Cruisin' Along...

***Howdy! My body is feeling those extra weights I put on the machines at my workout yesterday, sheesh! Guess that's a good thing.

***Miserable failure.

***Here's another great way to support the troops!

***Check it out! Lloyd Marcus doing "2010."

***Fitness is good for business?

***The Depot District in Richmond is the neatest place! At this time of year they decorate the whole area and have a Christmas festival every Tuesday...carriage rides, a train display, carolers, lots of neat stuff! This used to be a really depressed, junky area and they have made it great!

***Better get busy, have a great day!
