***Yeah, another brilliant, catchy title to my blog post today!

***Y'know, when even fringies like this guy are mad at Obama, it ain't lookin' good for him...

***Then there's this guy, who also thinks Barack Obama isn't liberal enough. Geez...

***Wow. How does a person with absolutely no military experience get into this position in the first place? Nevermind, that was a rhetorical question. It's when a President with no experience whatsoever gets into HIS position.

***Here are some good ideas for faith-based family finances. We could all use a little good advice in this area, right?

***Yknow what? Profile 'em! Gee whiz, what's it gonna take before keeping Americans safe is more important than keeping Muslims happy?

***Good article for those of us with an all or nothing mentality when it comes to exercise. I know some people who think that if you can't exercise for an hour while sweating like a pig, you aren't doing enough. Well, I politely say BUNK to that. I exercise for 18 minutes on the treadmill or the bike, then I use the weight machines for about 20-25 minutes. I do that every other day, and I can tell a big difference. Bottom line is, a little is better than nothing! Find what works for you, and do it!

Company Comin'!

***Boy, we've had a lot of company in the last two weeks, I love it! Mark's mom, sister, and nephew are coming this afternoon for pizza, Derek (our nephew) has to go back to I.U. (where he works) Tuesday, so we get to see him one more time before he goes. He doesn't get to come home very often because he's so busy with his work, so when we have a chance to be with him, we take it! He's delightful.

The Morning After...

***Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas! We had an absolutely wonderful day. God has blessed my family so richly. There was a "hole" in it, since Emily & Peter are so far away, but we still had a fantastic day. I got lots of wonderful gifts, but the best part was hanging out with family all day.

I am done, other than maybe picking up a couple more little things for Mark's stocking. Got a little wrapping to do, but that's fun stuff.

Just About Done...

I went to the Muncie Mall yesterday to finish up and found some great things! I got Mark's mother a glass nativity scene on an oval mirror that is just beautiful...shoulda got me one, too!

Sad Day

***Well, I was exuberant and happy because of the wonderful time we had with Mark's family yesterday. Everyone was here for dinner and we opened presents with my nephew's fiance, who will be spending Christmas with her family in San Francisco. Then I go to Michelle Malkin's blog this morning and see that the cloture vote on the scam "health care" power grab bill passed. What a sad day for this country, to watch the Democrats dismantling it piece by piece. This is a BIG piece, and why elections matter. Too bad we let Franken steal his Senate seat, otherwise we could have stopped this.

***Don't get your hopes up. Washington is now owned by Chicago thugs and unions.

***Today's gonna be Biz-Zee! Got lots of transcription to do (thank goodness), plus I gotta get this house in order before company comes Sunday. I got a lot of Christmas shopping done yesterday and got it all wrapped, I'm so proud! The tree looks a lot better with presents under it. Still have a little to do, but I'm certainly on the home stretch.

***This is just sickening. The Democrats are making a mockery of our political system. It's a mockery that a comedian who stole his Senate seat can tell a veteran Senator to sit down and shut up. Hey, thanks Minnesota!

***These look like fun! I can't really justify buying a netbook because I have a laptop that works just fine, but I'd like to have one just for the fun factor.

***Yep, I still have a little to do. Hopefully I can, um, wrap it up this weekend. Ar ar ar! We're having family over for dinner Sunday, so I'm definitely going to be grocery shopping! We're having barbecuted ribs...fortunately, Mark is really good at cooking those, so I'll let him have at it.

Closin' In...

***Wow, Christmas is only 9 days away. Yikes! I have quite a bit done, but I have more to do so I better get on the stick! I have a sister-in-law in Colorado, so I have to get busy and get hers sent out. I also have a soldier whom I adopted...I've sent his Christmas card, but not his box. That'll probably arrive after Christmas, darnit.

***This is just nuts. Bringing terrorists to this country to be imprisoned is crazy and wrong. But then, those words also describe Barack Obama.

***I gotta tell you what my husband did last night. Yesterday was our 25th wedding anniversary, and we had agreed that the trip to South Carolina and the meal in the fine restaurant Saturday night would be our gift to each other. He surprised me and took me out to dinner last night, too, at a really nice restaurant here in Richmond. At dessert, the waitress brought Mark's cake, my coffee, and a little package and card. It was a beautiful sentimental card, and the package contained the most beautiful diamond earrings and necklace you ever saw! I was flabbergasted. He had arranged all this beforehand with the staff at Galo's, the Italian restaurant we went to. He went to a lot of trouble to make it a special evening, bless his heart. What a great anniversary!

I'm Baaaack!

***What a great trip! We had a wonderful time in South Carolina. I hated to leave them, but it's good to be home. I certainly have plenty to keep me busy for a while!

***Gonna go back to the gym this morning and work out. I walked a lot over the weekend, but I want to get going again on my weight work. Then it'll be back at the computer for the rest of the day catching up.

***Joe Liebeman isn't being "principled." The bill is bad with or without the public option, and the Democrats will sneak it in there somehow anyway. He seems to love the limelight as much as McCain does. I lost all respect for Lieberman when he was all gung-ho about our efforts in Iraq, but continued to caucus with the Democrats who were doing everything they could to ensure America's defeat, when Bush was in office. Different story now. Bunch of hypocrites. And he's right at the top of the dung heap.

***Culture of corruption. Story after story.

***I got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done in Charleston. They have the neatest open air market where hundreds of booths are set up selling hand-crafted items, and there are lots of other shops right there by it. We will definitely have to go back there the next time we visit them, it would take a week to see them all.

***It's only a scandal if a business does it. Governnment bonuses? No problem.

Heading Home

***Well, it's 3:50 a.m. and I'm waiting for the guys to get ready to head home. We said our goodbyes to Emily & Peter last night so we wouldn't have to wake them up in the middle of the night. We have had such a wonderful (but way too short) weekend with them! We probably walked five miles yesterday. They have this great "open air market" here in Charleston with tons and tons of booths and shops, it was heaven! We walked around by the Battery and the beautiful homes, then we ate at Sticky Fingers barbecue. Man, that was good! Then we drove to Folly Beach and walked on the beach and the pier, and watched the surfers. It was really foggy, would have made a great set for a Stephen King movie. Last night we sat around, ate Snickerdoodles, and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I'm already looking forward to coming back next summer!

Howdy All!

***We had an absolutely grand time yesterday! Walked and walked and shopped and shopped! It doesn't get any better than that. What a beautiful city. We had dinner at the Charleston Grill last night, wow! What an elegant place! Very expensive, but quite an experience. Today we're going to do some more shopping and sightseeing, of course. Mark loves the historic district, and those homes are so beautiful! We drove through it yesterday, but will probably walk through it today to get a better look. I'm getting some great pictures! We opened presents last night with Emily & Peter, and then watched "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen. I love that movie! It's gonna be so hard to leave them tomorrow.

South Carolina, Baby!

***We're here! Got here last night about 7:00. Man, that's a long drive! Took us about 13 1/2 hours with stops. Beautiful drive, though! Today we're going downtown to shop, look at the beautiful homes, go to the Battery, etc. etc. etc., then tonight we're going to the Charleston Grill for dinner. It is SO wonderful to see Emily & Peter! We get to help them decorate their tree this evening after dinner, then we'll have Christmas with them. It's gonna be REAL hard to leave on Monday! I promise I will learn how to put pictures up here and get that done so I can share them with you! Another update tomorrow morning!

Busy Day

***Up early to work before I have to head to the Post Office for the day. Then half day tomorrow...then off to South Carolina Friday! I would have loved to have had the whole day tomorrow to get ready, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

We'll mail the rest. It's gonna be awful not to have her here, but at least we get to spend some pre-Christmas time with them, so I'm thankful for that.

***Howdy all. I'm getting ready to head to the gym to make my muscles ache, then I'll be back here working for most of the day. It's gonna be a busy weekend with Christmas stuff and family birthday stuff and just stuff in general. Lookin' forward to it!

***This is nothing less than larceny by the government. There is absolutely no excuse for the government stealing 45% of anyone's inheritance, I don't care how big it is.

***My daughter really likes Tangerine Dream. It is a very - unusual - musical group. Listen to some of their samples, it's different from anything you've ever heard.

***This sounds interesting. It's a DVD entitled "Does God Exist?" meant to help when speaking to "intellectuals" regarding God, creation, etc. I think I'll check this out.

***So, how's your Christmas shopping coming? I'm actually doing pretty well, I'd say I'm 75% done. We're trying to get most of Emily & Peter's done before we go to SC in a week. They need a washer & dryer and the family is going together to get them a gift card to Best Buy, but of course we want them to have a few things to open on Christmas morning. Man, it's gonna be tough this year here at home without her!

***My son is learning to juggle! It is so much fun to watch him. That gives us some Christmas ideas, thank goodness, because he's getting harder and harder to buy for!

***Here I am again, at my trusty computer. I'll be spending a good part of my morning here, then this afternoon I have to work at the Post Office. It's okay, though, I'm actually pretty well caught up with my work because it is always a little down this time of year. Bad time for that, but it always happens.

***We got our tree up yesterday and the house decorated. It looks so pretty! We sent pictures via cell phone to Emily to get her approval, of course. She was always in charge of arranging the Nativity scenes on the piano, so Johnny did it this time and sent her a picture. She said he did good!

Pretty Sunday

***Gonna be another nice day here in Indiana. Yesterday when we went and cut our Christmas tree, it was 50 degrees! Nice. Wasn't the same without Emily along, but we still had a good time. I finally got my way...I always want a short, fat tree, and everyone else wants a huge one. The one we got is cute! We're going to decorate today, Johnny has to go up into the attic and drag everything down.

***First, I have a lot of work to do! Seems like whenever I have an extra day, like Friday, I don't spend it working and getting ahead, I do something else! This time it was putting up my outdoor Christmas lights. Oh well, just means I have to work harder today.

***I'm even decorating my office. I'll take a picture and try to figure out how to post it here when I'm done.

***Time to get the coloring contest together for the Post Office. I do this ever year, the kids love it! I print out some pictures from here, and there is a retired schoolteacher in town who judges them for me. We give out prizes and display the pictures, it's always fun!

***Here's a fun site by a lady who has had the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, like I did. She's a really interesting person and there are some really good ideas here!

Weekend Warrior

***Hey everybody! I spent yesterday afternoon putting up my outdoor Christmas lights. They look pretty, if I do say so myself! We're going today or tomorrow to get our tree, which means as soon as I get home from work I have to clean and make a place for it in the living room. No easy feat, we have lots of furniture in there. Now that I have an office, though, we have a little room to put stuff. Can't wait!

Not Good

***Well, this was not a good way to start my day. They're all a bunch of liars, pretending that this health care bill will provide care for all Americans and stop "spiraling health care costs." How they can say that with a straight face when everyone knows how much it is going to cost amazes me. What a bunch of corrupt goons.

***Man, do I have a lot to do today! I did sleep better last night, though, just had to cut it short at 3:00 a.m. to catch up since I had to work all day Wednesday and Thursday. I have a new doctor to learn today, so that'll probably take me a little longer than usual. Not complaining, though! I'll take all I can get.

***Jesse Jackson is pure sleaze. He said at a reception recently that, "You can't vote against health care and call yourself a black man." Well, leaving aside the obvious, that this health care bill has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with bigger, more intrusive government, I don't think you can father an illegitimate child while you're married, pay off your mistress, and call yourself a reverend.

***Well, I got my butt kicked a little at my 18 month surgery appointment yesterday. Gotta lose the McDonald's cafe mochas and the trail mix, among other things. I'm joining the Wellness Center this morning, too. Gotta get that scale movin' again.

Gonna Shop 'til I Drop!

Cleanin' Machine

***We started on the garage yesterday...we rented a storage unit and got a bunch of stuff out of the garage. Gotta make room for the carpet truck now that the weather is getting cold. It's amazing how much STUFF we accumulate in a relatively short period of time.

***That's my breakfast. I'm STUCK at minus 151 lbs. I'm happy to have lost that much but I want to lose at least twenty more and can't seem to get it done! I'm gonna work on exercising more, maybe that'll make the scale move. If not, it might just move right out the window!

Another Week!

***Glad I'm not at the Post Office this week. I didn't get as much accomplished over the weekend as I garage is still a disaster area! Oh well...hopefully I'll get to that this week. We have had absolutely glorious weather in Indiana, I hope that continues!

Good Night!

***Well, last night was good for Republicans (I am one, in case you haven't figured that out yet). Wish Hoffman could have pulled it off, but considering he was polling in single digits a month ago, it's pretty amazing that he came within two points of victory. Congratulations to the new governors of New Jersey and Virginia!


***Boy, do I need my coffee! I'm going for blood work in a little while, so my coffee has to wait until after that. Amazing how dependent we get on our morning cup, isn't it?

Up & At 'Em!

***Well, another Monday. I have to work all day at the Post Office today and tomorrow as my postmaster is on vacation this week. Thank goodness the other backup girl can do the rest of the week. I *really* don't like going back for full days, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do, y'know?

***Had a great time serving dinner to the family last night and then enjoying the trick-or-treaters, although we didn't have very many last night. Don't know what the deal was a pretty nice evening and we had fun-size candy bars! Now they're still here, calling my name...

Happy Halloween!

***I got up early to make a big pot of chili. We're having family over for dinner, then to watch the trick or treaters. We live in a cul-de-sac, so we don't get a huge number, but we get enough to make it fun! Mark always wants to make sure I buy "enough" candy...which means too much so there'll be a lot left over!

***Now THIS is scary.

***Ya think?

***I agree with this blogger regarding Halloween. I would never let my kids dress up as anything Satanic or morbid, but I have never seen any harm in allowing them to dress up as something fun, like a hobo or a princess, and go out and have a great time on Halloween. We have some great memories of trick or treating with them.

***Interesting info on most stressful jobs in America, least stressful, best paying, etc.

***Gonna be a busy one. I have to get my work done early this morning, because I have to work at the Post Office from 9:00-5:00. Sheesh. Glad it's pizza night at the Crawfords!

***Another day, another...bunch of work! I'll be taking a break later to drive mom around on her Meals-on-Wheels route, then back at it.

This 'n That, Hither and Yon

***Lots to do today, as usual. Looking forward to taking a break and having a nice lunch with my cousin, sister, and mom later. Funny how, though family is always important, the older we get the more important it seems to become!

***Maybe he does have a little principle left. It's hard to have a lot of respect for Joe Lieberman, but once in a while he says something right. He kept threatening to stop caucusing with the Democrats over the War on Terror, but stayed with them all the while they were doing their best to make sure we lost. Now? Can't trust him.
