Prayers for Rush

***From Rush Limbaugh's web site: ALERT: Rush was admitted to a Honolulu hospital today and is resting comfortably after suffering chest pains. Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes. He will keep you updated via RushLimbaugh.com and on Thursday's radio program.

Our prayers are with you, Rush! We need you now more than ever.

Hump Day

***Howdy, y'all! I didn't get up as early as I wanted to, now I'll be playing catchup all day! Gotta go work out in a little while, then go for my last Christmas get-together with my post office co-workers, then I'll be planted right here for the rest of the day.

Good Morning!

***I'll be workin' all day at the Post Office today, so I'm up extra early to get some work done...and of course do my blogging!

Monday, Monday

***Yeah, another brilliant, catchy title to my blog post today!

***Y'know, when even fringies like this guy are mad at Obama, it ain't lookin' good for him...

***Then there's this guy, who also thinks Barack Obama isn't liberal enough. Geez...

***Wow. How does a person with absolutely no military experience get into this position in the first place? Nevermind, that was a rhetorical question. It's when a President with no experience whatsoever gets into HIS position.

I know some people who think that if you can't exercise for an hour while sweating like a pig, you aren't doing enough. Well, I politely say BUNK to that. I exercise for 18 minutes on the treadmill or the bike, then I use the weight machines for about 20-25 minutes. I do that every other day, and I can tell a big difference. Bottom line is, a little is better than nothing! Find what works for you, and do it!

Company Comin'!

***Boy, we've had a lot of company in the last two weeks, I love it! Mark's mom, sister, and nephew are coming this afternoon for pizza, Derek (our nephew) has to go back to I.U. (where he works) Tuesday, so we get to see him one more time before he goes. He doesn't get to come home very often because he's so busy with his work, so when we have a chance to be with him, we take it! He's delightful.

***Scary stuff.

The Morning After...

***Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas! We had an absolutely wonderful day. God has blessed my family so richly. There was a "hole" in it, since Emily & Peter are so far away, but we still had a fantastic day. I got lots of wonderful gifts, but the best part was hanging out with family all day.

God Bless Us, Every One

"6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince Of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this" (Isaiah 9:6-7).

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christ is Born!

1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:1-14

Have a holy and blessed Christmas!

Countdown!

***Okay, it's crunch time! If you're not finished shopping, you better get with it! We went stocking stuffer shopping yesterday, that's almost as much fun as buying the big presents. I am done, other than maybe picking up a couple more little things for Mark's stocking. Got a little wrapping to do, but that's fun stuff.

***This doesn't surprise me at all. We elected a man with who is a flaming liberal with no experience to the most powerful position in the world, because he was "cool." How's that working out, America?

Just About Done...

***One more present to buy, and I'm done. Fortunately, I know what it is, so it's easy! My nephew wants a gift card from Lowe's, can't get any easier than that! I went to the Muncie Mall yesterday to finish up and found some great things! I got Mark's mother a glass nativity scene on an oval mirror that is just beautiful...shoulda got me one, too!

Sad Day

***Well, I was exuberant and happy because of the wonderful time we had with Mark's family yesterday. Everyone was here for dinner and we opened presents with my nephew's fiance, who will be spending Christmas with her family in San Francisco. Then I go to Michelle Malkin's blog this morning and see that the cloture vote on the scam "health care" power grab bill passed. What a sad day for this country, to watch the Democrats dismantling it piece by piece. This is a BIG piece, and why elections matter. Too bad we let Franken steal his Senate seat, otherwise we could have stopped this.

***Don't get your hopes up. Washington is now owned by Chicago thugs and unions.

Big Day

***Yep, I'm gonna be baking cookies at 3:30 a.m...I'd be doing it now, at 3:00, but I have to wait for the butter to soften. This just ain't my cup o' tea, but I'll do it for the family! I'm making cream cheese cookies, and they sound divine! I hope I don't mess them up...

Howdy, All!

***I can never think of anything catchy to title my blog posts...

***Today's gonna be Biz-Zee! Got lots of transcription to do (thank goodness), plus I gotta get this house in order before company comes Sunday. I got a lot of Christmas shopping done yesterday and got it all wrapped, I'm so proud! The tree looks a lot better with presents under it. Still have a little to do, but I'm certainly on the home stretch.

***This is just sickening. The Democrats are making a mockery of our political system. It's a mockery that a comedian who stole his Senate seat can tell a veteran Senator to sit down and shut up. Hey, thanks Minnesota!

***These look like fun! I can't really justify buying a netbook because I have a laptop that works just fine, but I'd like to have one just for the fun factor.

***From Neil Boortz:

"You do remember, don't you, President Obama telling the Republicans that they ought to stop using fear tactics to fight ObamaCare? Yeah ... it's only the Republicans that are trying to scare the American people .. and there's plenty to scare them with in this bill.

But what about our "Sort-of-a-God" president? Yesterday he told that nation that if ObamaCare doesn't go bankrupt "the federal government will go bankrupt." That's not trying to scare people?

Thank you so much, idiot voters, for putting this empty suit in the White House. Isn't it wonderful? A community organizer becomes president because he was so cool. Only in America."

Shoppin'!

***Yep, I still have a little to do. Hopefully I can, um, wrap it up this weekend. Ar ar ar! We're having family over for dinner Sunday, so I'm definitely going to be grocery shopping! We're having barbecuted ribs...fortunately, Mark is really good at cooking those, so I'll let him have at it.

Closin' In...

***Wow, Christmas is only 9 days away. Yikes! I have quite a bit done, but I have more to do so I better get on the stick! I have a sister-in-law in Colorado, so I have to get busy and get hers sent out. I also have a soldier whom I adopted...I've sent his Christmas card, but not his box. That'll probably arrive after Christmas, darnit.

***Figures lie and liars figure.

***This is just nuts. Bringing terrorists to this country to be imprisoned is crazy and wrong. But then, those words also describe Barack Obama.

***Wow. This is the stuff happening in our public schools. If you can, home school your kids or send them to private school!

***Here's a great collection of positive Christmas stories.

***Marriage is God's idea.

***I gotta tell you what my husband did last night. Yesterday was our 25th wedding anniversary, and we had agreed that the trip to South Carolina and the meal in the fine restaurant Saturday night would be our gift to each other. He surprised me and took me out to dinner last night, too, at a really nice restaurant here in Richmond. At dessert, the waitress brought Mark's cake, my coffee, and a little package and card. It was a beautiful sentimental card, and the package contained the most beautiful diamond earrings and necklace you ever saw! I was flabbergasted. He had arranged all this beforehand with the staff at Galo's, the Italian restaurant we went to. He went to a lot of trouble to make it a special evening, bless his heart. What a great anniversary!

I'm Baaaack!

***What a great trip! We had a wonderful time in South Carolina. I hated to leave them, but it's good to be home. I certainly have plenty to keep me busy for a while!

***Gonna go back to the gym this morning and work out. I walked a lot over the weekend, but I want to get going again on my weight work. Then it'll be back at the computer for the rest of the day catching up.

***Joe Liebeman isn't being "principled." The bill is bad with or without the public option, and the Democrats will sneak it in there somehow anyway. He seems to love the limelight as much as McCain does. I lost all respect for Lieberman when he was all gung-ho about our efforts in Iraq, but continued to caucus with the Democrats who were doing everything they could to ensure America's defeat, when Bush was in office. Different story now. Bunch of hypocrites. And he's right at the top of the dung heap.

***Culture of corruption. Story after story.

***I got quite a bit of Christmas shopping done in Charleston. They have the neatest open air market where hundreds of booths are set up selling hand-crafted items, and there are lots of other shops right there by it. We will definitely have to go back there the next time we visit them, it would take a week to see them all.

Heading Home

***Well, it's 3:50 a.m. and I'm waiting for the guys to get ready to head home. We said our goodbyes to Emily & Peter last night so we wouldn't have to wake them up in the middle of the night. We have had such a wonderful (but way too short) weekend with them! We probably walked five miles yesterday. They have this great "open air market" here in Charleston with tons and tons of booths and shops, it was heaven! We walked around by the Battery and the beautiful homes, then we ate at Sticky Fingers barbecue. Man, that was good! Then we drove to Folly Beach and walked on the beach and the pier, and watched the surfers. It was really foggy, would have made a great set for a Stephen King movie. Last night we sat around, ate Snickerdoodles, and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I'm already looking forward to coming back next summer!

Howdy All!

***We had an absolutely grand time yesterday! Walked and walked and shopped and shopped! It doesn't get any better than that. What a beautiful city. We had dinner at the Charleston Grill last night, wow! What an elegant place! Very expensive, but quite an experience. Today we're going to do some more shopping and sightseeing, of course. Mark loves the historic district, and those homes are so beautiful! We drove through it yesterday, but will probably walk through it today to get a better look. I'm getting some great pictures! We opened presents last night with Emily & Peter, and then watched "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen. I love that movie! It's gonna be so hard to leave them tomorrow.

***Have a wonderful Sunday!

South Carolina, Baby!

***We're here! Got here last night about 7:00. Man, that's a long drive! Took us about 13 1/2 hours with stops. Beautiful drive, though! Today we're going downtown to shop, look at the beautiful homes, go to the Battery, etc. etc. etc., then tonight we're going to the Charleston Grill for dinner. It is SO wonderful to see Emily & Peter! We get to help them decorate their tree this evening after dinner, then we'll have Christmas with them. It's gonna be REAL hard to leave on Monday! I promise I will learn how to put pictures up here and get that done so I can share them with you! Another update tomorrow morning!

Three Days and Counting!

***Not that I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter and her husband or anything...

***Did a little Christmas shopping last night, and we're going to do a little more tonight. We want to take at least some of their gifts to South Carolina with us for them to put under their tree. We'll mail the rest. It's gonna be awful not to have her here, but at least we get to spend some pre-Christmas time with them, so I'm thankful for that.

***This guy is an awesome writer. He's Jay Nordlinger over at National Review Online. His columns are my favorites, along with Victor Davis Hanson's.

Here We Go Again!

***Another week! Man, Christmas is creepin' up on us, ain't it? I love this time of year, but it sure whizzes by fast. Wish we would get some snow here in Indiana, I'm ready! People around here always look ready to smack me when I say that...

Hey Y'all!

***Good Sunday morning! I've finally defrosted after caroling last night at the park in 24 degree weather...whew! It was fun, though.

***I need to get busy working but the motivation just ain't there this morning! Doesn't matter, though, gotta do it anyway! Funny how the doctors never say, "Oh, you weren't motivated? Oh, well, it's okay that you didn't get my work done, then..."

***Global warming? Yeah, right.

***Family time today! We're going to have dinner with Mark's side of the family today to celebrate three birthdays. We always have such a great time when we get together, I'm really looking forward to it! We found some great gifts for them, too. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

***The decorations around our town seem prettier than usual. A lot of people are decorating their homes, I love to just drive around and look at them. I'm hoping to finish up my Christmas shopping while we're in South Carolina next weekend.

Frrrridayyy!!

***Howdy all. I'm getting ready to head to the gym to make my muscles ache, then I'll be back here working for most of the day. It's gonna be a busy weekend with Christmas stuff and family birthday stuff and just stuff in general. Lookin' forward to it!

***This is nothing less than larceny by the government. There is absolutely no excuse for the government stealing 45% of anyone's inheritance, I don't care how big it is.

***My daughter really likes Tangerine Dream. It is a very - unusual - musical group. Listen to some of their samples, it's different from anything you've ever heard.

***This sounds interesting. It's a DVD entitled "Does God Exist?" meant to help when speaking to "intellectuals" regarding God, creation, etc. I think I'll check this out.

***So, how's your Christmas shopping coming? I'm actually doing pretty well, I'd say I'm 75% done. We're trying to get most of Emily & Peter's done before we go to SC in a week. They need a washer & dryer and the family is going together to get them a gift card to Best Buy, but of course we want them to have a few things to open on Christmas morning. Man, it's gonna be tough this year here at home without her!

***My son is learning to juggle! It is so much fun to watch him. That gives us some Christmas ideas, thank goodness, because he's getting harder and harder to buy for!

Thursday Update

***Here I am again, at my trusty computer. I'll be spending a good part of my morning here, then this afternoon I have to work at the Post Office. It's okay, though, I'm actually pretty well caught up with my work because it is always a little down this time of year. Bad time for that, but it always happens.

Maybe I'm compensating for the fact that Emily's not here to share it with us, who knows? I'm thinking about putting up more lights outside, getting more "stuff" for the inside, you name it! Too bad I'm not made of money.

***Netbooks are just the neatest things. I have a laptop that works fine so I can't really justify buying one, but I'd love to have one just the same!

***This is what I'd like to get my husband for Christmas, a GPS system. There are so many to choose from and I don't know the first thing about them. Guess I better ask someone who does.

***Christmas Poem by Joseph P. Martino Copyright© 2003

Two thousand years ago the King of Kings was born.
'The Lamb of God' later made to feel the thorn,
If his words are accepted and not scorned,
They will make us all reborn.

Though God's grace, Joseph and Mary presented
A gift to the world that day, which we can all repay,
by living the ten commandments each and every day.

Try to remember and keep in your heart and mind
Jesus's gospel while here on Earth,
Redemption not a life lived in constant mirth.
Peace on Earth, good will toward man
Everyone should try it, whenever they can.

The Lord gave us the option and choice of 'free will,'
Now it's up to us to fit the bill.

So when you’re Christmas shopping for family and friends,
and money is tight at both ends,
Remember that the greatest gift of all,
Is your love of Jesus in the manger stall.

Cruisin' Along...

***Howdy! My body is feeling those extra weights I put on the machines at my workout yesterday, sheesh! Guess that's a good thing.

***The Depot District in Richmond is the neatest place! At this time of year they decorate the whole area and have a Christmas festival every Tuesday...carriage rides, a train display, carolers, lots of neat stuff! This used to be a really depressed, junky area and they have made it great!

Good Morning (or Afternoon, or Evening)

***Well, I finally got around to updating my profile and putting a picture there. Check it out, if you dare!

***We got our tree up yesterday and the house decorated. It looks so pretty! We sent pictures via cell phone to Emily to get her approval, of course. She was always in charge of arranging the Nativity scenes on the piano, so Johnny did it this time and sent her a picture. She said he did good!

***Here's a fun contest from Focus on the Family.

***I think undermining America is exactly what they have in mind.

***Don't hold your breath.

***I need a new lighted Christmas house for my display, one finally gave out last night when we were decorating. I like this one, but it's a bit pricey.

***
What Do We Love About Christmas?
What do we love about Christmas;
Does our delight reside in things?
Or are the feelings in our hearts
The real gift that Christmas brings.
It's seeing those we love,
And sending Christmas cards, too,
Appreciating people who bring us joy
Special people just like you.

Pretty Sunday

***Gonna be another nice day here in Indiana. Yesterday when we went and cut our Christmas tree, it was 50 degrees! Nice. Wasn't the same without Emily along, but we still had a good time. I finally got my way...I always want a short, fat tree, and everyone else wants a huge one. The one we got is cute! We're going to decorate today, Johnny has to go up into the attic and drag everything down.

***First, I have a lot of work to do! Seems like whenever I have an extra day, like Friday, I don't spend it working and getting ahead, I do something else! This time it was putting up my outdoor Christmas lights. Oh well, just means I have to work harder today.

***I'm even decorating my office. I'll take a picture and try to figure out how to post it here when I'm done.

***Time to get the coloring contest together for the Post Office. I do this ever year, the kids love it! I print out some pictures from here, and there is a retired schoolteacher in town who judges them for me. We give out prizes and display the pictures, it's always fun!

***Here's a fun site by a lady who has had the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, like I did. She's a really interesting person and there are some really good ideas here!

***This stuff is great! I was glad to see this review at MM's site, because I had shied away from the stuff because of the sugar content. It's Bolthouse Farms Perfectly Protein Mocha Cappuccino. Try it!

***Well, this stuff ain't gonna type itself. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Weekend Warrior

***Hey everybody! I spent yesterday afternoon putting up my outdoor Christmas lights. They look pretty, if I do say so myself! We're going today or tomorrow to get our tree, which means as soon as I get home from work I have to clean and make a place for it in the living room. No easy feat, we have lots of furniture in there. Now that I have an office, though, we have a little room to put stuff. Can't wait!

***Speaking of Christmas lights, here's a wild display!

***Geez, I wish these green wackos would mind their own business.

***Case in point.

***Here's hoping Tiger Woods is okay.

***Better get to work...have a great Saturday!

The Day After

***Had a great Thanksgiving dinner yesterday with family and friends. Mom's house is just too small for our group now! It was great having everybody there...except Emily & Peter. I sure miss them.

***Well duh. Climate change is a hoax, it always has been.

***Here's a way to help families in need this Christmas.

***Reversal of fortune.

***Believe it or not, I'm going shopping this morning before I go to work. I know, I'm nuts...

Almost Here!

***Thanksgiving, that is. I still have to go get the meatloaf stuff today, then I'm done dinner shopping. Can't wait to get together with family and enjoy the day. I sure wish Emily & Peter were here!

***This, to me, is completely nuts. We are persecuting the very people who are keeping us safe. With what twisted logic does this make sense??

***"Everything the Democrats are behind today is a fraud and a lie aimed at separating you from your freedom, your property, and your money." ~~ Rush Limbaugh

***Wow. Prophetic?

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: "from bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage."

Gettin' Close

***Gonna go do my Thanksgiving Dinner shopping this morning. We're in charge of the mashed potatoes and meat loaf. Can't wait, I love Thanksgiving!

***No wonder the Times is going under.

***Got my copy of Sarah Palin's book yesterday. I'm really looking forward to reading it.

***I'll believe it when I see it. Joe Lieberman isn't someone I trust.

***They don't care.

***Got an email from my daughter yesterday. They're moving into their new apartment this weekend. She says it has a fireplace, so we'll get to sit in their living room with them, enjoy a fire, and just enjoy each others' company. 2 1/2 weeks...boy, am I looking forward to that!!

Hey, Hey, It's Monday!

***Here we go with another week! I'm working at the Post Office all day, which means today's gonna be nutty busy. I'm up at 3:00 a.m. to get as much transcription done as possible before I have to go. These full days really mess with my schedule!

***Yay Colts! What a game!

***Speaking of the Colts, former coach Tony Dungy is a class act. Here's a link to his book, "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance." That's gonna be on my Christmas list.

***Amen, Mike. My Congressman, Mike Pence, is one of a handful of politicians in Washington with character and principle. He'd make a great presidential candidate.

Not Good

***Well, this was not a good way to start my day. They're all a bunch of liars, pretending that this health care bill will provide care for all Americans and stop "spiraling health care costs." How they can say that with a straight face when everyone knows how much it is going to cost amazes me. What a bunch of corrupt goons.

***Here are some common sense ideas for *real* health care reform.

***This is cute, "Geek Parent Gift Guide."

***Sounds good to me. I have no problem with civil disobedience as long as there's a point to it.

***Wow. Scared to death.

***Okay, gotta lighten up here. Check out this laughing baby! I was in tears!

***Boy, I think a lot of people need to revisit this concept.

***A preacher was completing a temperance sermon; with great expression he said, "If I had all the beer in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

With even greater emphasis he said, "And if I had all the wine in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

And then finally, he said, "And if I had all the whiskey in the world, I'd take it and throw it into the river."

He sat down.

The song leader then stood very cautiously and announced with a smile, "For our closing song, let us sing Hymn # 365: "Shall We Gather at the River."

Whew!

***Man, do I have a lot to do today! I did sleep better last night, though, just had to cut it short at 3:00 a.m. to catch up since I had to work all day Wednesday and Thursday. I have a new doctor to learn today, so that'll probably take me a little longer than usual. Not complaining, though! I'll take all I can get.

***Jesse Jackson is pure sleaze. He said at a reception recently that, "You can't vote against health care and call yourself a black man." Well, leaving aside the obvious, that this health care bill has nothing to do with health care and everything to do with bigger, more intrusive government, I don't think you can father an illegitimate child while you're married, pay off your mistress, and call yourself a reverend.

***Well, I got my butt kicked a little at my 18 month surgery appointment yesterday. Gotta lose the McDonald's cafe mochas and the trail mix, among other things. I'm joining the Wellness Center this morning, too. Gotta get that scale movin' again.

***This is disgusting and juvenile. I had no respect for Al Gore in the first place, so it was hard for him to sink lower in my estimation. However, he managed it by allowing this to air on his network.

***Once in the Middle of the lake, the Pastor said" I seem to have forgotten my fishing pole, be right back" and to the visitors amazement stepped out of the boat and walked on top of the water towards the shore.

Again the visitor watched in amazement. Once the Brother returned, not wanting to be outdone, the visitor said " I need to use the restroom too"

As soon as he stepped out of the boat, he sank.

The Pastor nudged the Brother and said "We should have told him where the rocks were"

Gonna Shop 'til I Drop!

***...or until I run out of money, which of course will happen first! After work this morning I'm headed to the YMCA Christmas Village here in Richmond. Lots of handcrafted Christmas stuff and it's always a great time. The biggest difference this year is that Emily won't be with me, so of course it won't be as much fun. But I'm goin' anyway!

***When I get back, I'll be putting some more stuff up on eBay. We worked on cleaning our garage yesterday, & I found lots more stuff to sell! The more I sell, the more fun we can have in South Carolina!

***Finally. Justice.

***I already have Sarah Palin's book on pre-order at Amazon. Can't wait to get it!

Cleanin' Machine

***We started on the garage yesterday...we rented a storage unit and got a bunch of stuff out of the garage. Gotta make room for the carpet truck now that the weather is getting cold. It's amazing how much STUFF we accumulate in a relatively short period of time.

***You gotta be kidding....

***I'm sorry, but the only way Barack Obama could truly honor our veterans is to step down as Commander-in-Chief. He is ill-equipped, unprepared, and a disgrace to his office, in my opinion.

***Turning dreams into reality.

***
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Eatin' Trail Mix, Drinkin' Water...

***That's my breakfast. I'm STUCK at minus 151 lbs. I'm happy to have lost that much but I want to lose at least twenty more and can't seem to get it done! I'm gonna work on exercising more, maybe that'll make the scale move. If not, it might just move right out the window!

***Oh, of course they will. Abortion is the holy grail of liberal democrats, they're not going to pass a "health care" bill without it. What a misnomer, this has nothing to do with health care, and everything to do with socialism.

***I love this quite from Will Rogers: Ancient Rome declined because it had a Senate; now what's going to happen to us with both a Senate and a House?

***Interesting stuff from someone who was at the "House Call" in D.C. Wish I coulda been there. We all need to contact our Senators...over and over again...to try and derail this socialist health care bill. The country is at stake, and I really believe that.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds.
You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Congratulations to the new governors of New Jersey and Virginia!

Happy Halloween!

***I got up early to make a big pot of chili. We're having family over for dinner, then to watch the trick or treaters. We live in a cul-de-sac, so we don't get a huge number, but we get enough to make it fun! Mark always wants to make sure I buy "enough" candy...which means too much so there'll be a lot left over!

***Now THIS is scary.

***Ya think?

***I agree with this blogger regarding Halloween. I would never let my kids dress up as anything Satanic or morbid, but I have never seen any harm in allowing them to dress up as something fun, like a hobo or a princess, and go out and have a great time on Halloween. We have some great memories of trick or treating with them.

***Gonna be a busy one. I have to get my work done early this morning, because I have to work at the Post Office from 9:00-5:00. Sheesh. Glad it's pizza night at the Crawfords!

***If it's close, they'll cheat.

***Wow. Lots of "wisdom" from this guy. Methinks he snorted one too many times.

***Awwww...check out these cute Halloween costumes.

***We all know how far this will go, don't we?

***World's Healthiest Meal?

***Well, gotta do payroll and get some transcription done. Have a terrific Friday!!

Here We Go Again!

***Another day, another...bunch of work! I'll be taking a break later to drive mom around on her Meals-on-Wheels route, then back at it.

***Check out this catalog! It's Southwest Indian Foundation, and they really have some of the most beautiful stuff! If you like southwestern decor, clothing, etc., you'll love this.

***And the hits just keep on comin'...

***So much for global warming.

***There's a patch of old snow in a corner
That I should have guessed
Was a blow-away paper the rain
Had brought to rest.

It is speckled with grime as if
Small print overspread it,
The news of a day I've forgotten
--If I ever read it.

"A Patch of Old Snow" ~~ Robert Frost

***Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
~~Romans 3:28 KJV

***Have a great day!

This 'n That, Hither and Yon

***Lots to do today, as usual. Looking forward to taking a break and having a nice lunch with my cousin, sister, and mom later. Funny how, though family is always important, the older we get the more important it seems to become!

***Maybe he does have a little principle left. It's hard to have a lot of respect for Joe Lieberman, but once in a while he says something right. He kept threatening to stop caucusing with the Democrats over the War on Terror, but stayed with them all the while they were doing their best to make sure we lost. Now? Can't trust him.

***Four steps to growing older gracefully. Sage advice for those of us 50 and older.

***Total nutcase...sounds just like a liberal Democrat, doesn't he? Oh, they won't say it in so many words, but the same gist is there.

***Check out this funny dog video. I laughed until I cried!

***From the funny to the bizarre.

***I strongly recommend this site for really good bargains on clothing. Since I'm still losing, I don't want to spend a lot on clothes. I found sweats and leggings, etc. for $10.00 at the Gap, and they are of really good quality. Check it out!

***Better get busy...have a great day!
